Defect: MARATHON IS RECALLING CERTAIN SEAT COVERS, BRAND SUPERHIDES WITH PART NUMBERS 593, 594, 578, 960, 228, 228-09, 267-08, 333, 625, AND 630, SOLD FOR USE AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE SEAT COVERS ARE MADE OF HEAVIER THREAD AND ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH SEATS CONTAINING SIDE AIRBAGS. THE HEAVIER SEAT COVER COULD INTERFERE WITH FULL DEPLOYMENT OF THE...
Consequence: AN IMPROPERLY DEPLOYED AIRBAG COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY.

The local dealer was contacted. The local dealer-scheduled an appointment but cancelled it due to parts not being available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
2010 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ACCESSORY POWER MODULE SAFETY RECALL. THE CONSUMER STATED THE HYBRID CONTROL MODULE WAS FAILED AND THERE WOULD BE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO REPAIR IT. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED REPAIR ASSISTANCE AND WOULD NOT BUY BACK THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE'S MILEAGE WAS 149,169.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT HAD TO FRACTURE THE WIRE CABLE THAT HELD THE TIRE IN PLACE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
