NHTSA Complaint #11712418 — 2017 FORD EDGE

The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal became inoperable. The contact stated that the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard while depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the parking brake was activated to stop the vehicle. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the contact became aware that the brake hose had detached, and brake fluid was leaking from the vehicle. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V572000 (Back Over Prevention); however, parts were not yet available. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 127,000.
