The contact owns a 2022 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while in reverse(R), the rearview camera image suddenly turned black or became distorted, and the message "Contact Dealer" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure had created a visibility hazard for the driver. The contact stated that the vehicle had previously received the over-the-air software update under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V315000 (Back Over Prevention); but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined that the rearview camera unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 70,000.
