NHTSA Complaint #11667791 — 2019 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that there was an abnormal sound coming from the cam phasers. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine was overheating. The contact stated that the failure was related to Customer Satisfaction Programs: 21B10 and 21N03. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the failure was due to the cam phaser. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was offered assistance with the repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
