NHTSA Complaint #11667376 — 2019 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked and occupied, the contact heard an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine while attempting to start the vehicle. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the cam phasers need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The contact was referred to NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,050.
