NHTSA Complaint #11646419 — 2019 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 MPH, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the check engine and low oil pressure warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that recently the cam phasers on the vehicle were replaced. The contact stated that the cam phasers had been replaced twice. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
