Consumer Description

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Escape. The contact stated that the vehicle received a routine oil change; however, after arriving to her residence she became aware that the check engine warning light had remained illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and noticed smoke coming from underneath the hood. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed there was no oil in the engine. The dealer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not under recall for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 144,036.
