THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO VW DEALER AND THEY REPORT THAT IT WAS THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP FAILURE WITH COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM CONTAMINATION. *TR
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND GLOW PLUG INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATE AND ENGINE GOES INTO LIMP OR SAFE MODE. HAS HAPPENED TWICE AND DEALER CANNOT FIND PROBLEM. *TR

FIRST INCIDENT IN JULY 2011 BUT SAME ONGOING ISSUE AND AT THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 8 TIMES IN 11 MONTHS. CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS NOW. ITS ALWAYS THE SAME "SYMPTOMS" BUT ALWAYS TOLD ITS ANOTHER PROBLEM..... AS FOLLOWS: -SPUTTERS AND JERKS -EXHAUST OR GAS FUMES OVERCOME THE CAR -ENGINE REVS BUT THE CAR WONT MOVE, THEN JOLTS FORWARD. -STALLS WHEN TRYING TO START, IT JERKS VIOLENTLY MAKING A PUTTING NOISE AS IF IT CAN'T GET FUEL THEN DIES. -THERE'S A BEEPING NOISE COMING FROM SOMETHING IN THE ENGINE WHEN IT STALLS THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT IT IS. I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND STALLED. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THEN HAVE IT TOWED. MY SPOUSE IS AN ENGINE MACHINIST, AND AFTER TALKING TO A VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP, AND TAKING THE CAR APART, FOUND METAL SHAVINGS THROUGHOUT THE FUEL SYSTEM. SO FAR, HE HAS SPENT $3200 FOR PARTS WHICH HAS DEPLETED OUR SAVING ACCOUNT. I DRIVE QUITE A BIT AND THE PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR RANDOMLY, PERHAPS EVERY OTHER DAY. MY 2009 JETTA TDI SPORTWAGON WITH 12,000 MILES WOULD NOT START ONE DAY. I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP START AND POP START THE CAR, BOTH FAILED TO START THE ENGINE. IT GOT TOWED TO NEAREST VW DEALER. THEY STATED THAT THE STARTER FAILED, SO THEY REPLACED IT. AFTER REPLACING THE STARTER, THE CAR WAS STILL NOT FIXED AND THEY DISCOVERED CONDENSATION IN THE INTAKE SYSTEM. EVER SINCE MY 2009 VW TDI DIESEL AUTO WAS NEW, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH HESISTATION IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THAT IS AN EMERGENCY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS; THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED A PULLING SENSATION AND BEGAN HESITATING INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURES PROGRESSED BETWEEN 0 TO 55 MPH AND THE ENGINE SURGED WHILE MAINTAINING SPEED. AN AUTHORIZED TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS A MANUFACTURERS DESIGN WITHOUT A REMEDY. THE VEHICLE HAS A 1 TO 2 SECOND LAG WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STANDING START OR WHEN I STEP HARD ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IT ACTS LIKE IT HAS TO THINK ABOUT IT FOR A WHILE BEFORE THE MOTOR STARTS TO REV UP AND THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES. I OWN A 2009 VOLKSWAGEN TDI. IT NOW HAS JUST OVER 11000 MILES. AFTER ONLY A COUPLE THOUSAND MILES ON THE VEHICLE, I STARTED NOTICING THAT THE ENGINE HESITATES AND IN SOME CASES PRODUCES SEVERE BUCKING FOR MAYBE 2-3 SECONDS. I BOUGHT MY BRAND NEW 2009 JETTA TDI ON 5/28/2009 AND 2 DAYS LATER AFTER I HAD ONLY DRIVEN THE CAR FOR 200 MILES, THE AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING WHEN THE CAR WAS SITTING STILL.
