WHEN NEEDING TO ACCELERATE THE CAR TAKES OFF LIKE A JET ROCKET WHEN THE PEDAL IS PRESSED. THE CAR SEEMS TO BE OUT OF CONTROL AND SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THIS HAPPENS USUALLY ON HIGHWAY WHEN GOING ABOVE 50. FEELS VERY UNSAFE. THIS IS A USED CAR I BOUGHT. THIS HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS.
TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING VERY HARD INTO SECOND GEAR, PARTICULARLY WHEN THE CAR IS WARM AND HAS BEEN RUNNING ABOUT 20 MINUTES. THE SHOP REPORTED PRESSURE READINGS INSIDE OF TRANSMISSION ARE HIGH AND RECOMMENDED A FULL REPLACEMENT.
CAR IS SPUTTERING AND HESITATES WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, IT DOES IT INTERMITTENTLY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I TOOK IT TO TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND CALLED HEADQUARTERS AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THIS MAJOR PROBLEM. THEY ARE OVERLOOKING THE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH TOYOTA CARS AND THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION EXPLODED AND METAL FRAGMENTS WERE PRESENT INSIDE. AS A RESULT, THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

CALLED TOYOTA AND FILED A CASE- THEY RESPECTIVELY UNDERSTAND MY CONCERN, HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT SEEM CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY HAZARD OF THIS ISSUE AND PROBABILITY OF THIS ISSUE CAUSING A DEATH. I HAD GONE IN AND TRIED HAVING MY TRANSMISSION LOOKED AT THREE TIMES A THE CARMAX DEALERSHIP ALL OF WHICH TOLD ME THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY TOYOTA COROLLA 2010 ON 12/29/2011 AT AROUND 10.30 PM, SUDDENLY I FELT THAT THE STEERING WAS SO RIGID TO TURN AND NOTICED IN THE CAR DASHBOARD WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS FOR ABS, ENGINE MALFUNCTION/CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR, BRAKE, VSC OFF, WERE ILLUMINATING. DRIVING 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA MANUAL TRANS ON INTERSTATE ON 8/2/10 AT 2:30 P.M. HAD CRUISE CONTROL ON GOING 70 MPH. I HAD MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA IN PARK AND RUNNING TO COOL THE CAR'S INTERIOR WITH THE AIR CONDITION ON. I WAS OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. I DECIDED TO TURN THE CAR OFF ( I WAS STANDING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND REACHED IN AND TURNED THE KEY OFF. INSTANTLY MY CAR WENT INTO A ROLL. AGAIN MY VEHICLE HAD A SUDDEN ACCELERATION AND LEAPED FORWARD. AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO PLACE IT IN NEUTRAL . THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP ONLY TO BE TOLD, IT WAS THE FLOOR MAT. 1. GAVE MY 2010 TOYOTA COROLLA FOR RECALL FIX - A0A SAFETY CALL 2. DROVE THE CAR HOME AROUND 4:30 PM AFTER THE FIX AND PARKED IN MY HOME DRIVE WAY 3. AROUND 4:31 PM REVERSING FROM MY DRIVE WAS AND ALMOST RAN ON THE ROAD, THE CAR STARTED REVERSE ACCELERATION , TOOK A TURN AND HIT THE SMALL TREE AND STOPPED AS THE TREE STEM STUCK UNDER THE CAR. 4.
