I initially brought my car in for a weird clicking noise. This noise went away after the car was towed to the Service Center. During service at Tesla Service Center in LA on August 04, 2025, technicians identified structural deformation of the left-hand rear subframe toe link mounting side wall. This deformation prevents proper alignment of the suspension bolt and makes a 4-wheel alignment impossible. Tesla refused warranty coverage, claiming “impact damage,” citing only cosmetic wheel rim scrape as evidence. However: 1. Torque paint marks remain intact, proving the bolt has not shifted since factory assembly. 2. No collateral suspension damage (control arms, bushings, underbody) was found, which would normally occur if an impact strong enough to bend a subframe ear had happened. 3. This failure mode is nearly identical to Tesla’s prior recall (21V-835 / 23V-235) on the front suspension lateral link bolts, which involved subframe mounting holes deforming...
On April 18th, 2025, I dropped off my 2022 Tesla Model Y at Tesla Collision Center (Paramus, NJ) after a minor accident. I later revoked consent for any repairs via email. Despite this, Tesla performed major body and paint work without my permission. No signed work order exists. The repairs were unauthorized and proceeded without my knowledge or approval until this day. These changes now risk altering my VIN history and vehicle safety records. I’m concerned this constitutes falsified documentation and could affect resale value, title accuracy, and liability in future accidents. I was never shown a repair summary or given the chance to approve or decline service. Even after I sent a formal cease-and-desist letter on June 6, 2025, Tesla towed my rental vehicle on June 4 (without warning), which I had been using through Tesla Insurance. My personal belongings were inside. The timing suggests retaliation for revoking consent...
Rear lift gate misaligned and having issue closing the trunk after 2 years of owning. Im concern since I have to push down on the trunk to latch, that it may unlatch while driving and lift gate will open. If the trunk doesnt latch, vehicle will not shift to drive. I took the vehicle to a Tesla service center where they told me that my left hinge of the liftgate needs to be replace and to take it to a body shop. How can a metal hinge be a problem on a 2 years vehicle. I believe that the material are poorly made if this happens in just 2 year old vehicle, I wonder if this vehicle can hold for another 3.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request: My drivere side door fails to open every time. The cold weather feature in the tesla app claims to pop open the door so you can grab the door to fully open only to get stuck closed. This also happens when attempting to exit the tesla. The passenger side drivers door also does not open every time. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Has been in for service many times. Concern does not replicate except at time of pickup of vehicle. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes failure to open door. Also if you are in full self driving and come to a emergency stop: The vehicle is suppost...
I just got T-Boned in my 2022 Model Y performance. I got out of the vehicle which wasn't in terrible condition, in fact the left side of the vehicle was still perfect and the doors worked fine. I had my dog with me and everyone was okay, but I opened my door and the back passenger door to grab a jacket and check on my dog. I shut the doors to make sure he didn't run out and was a bit out of it because of the accident impact so I took a moment to compose myself.. All of the car's lights flickered and then the electric cut off leaving the doors completely locked and inoperable even though they had just been used moments before and were not damaged in the accident. I had to climb in through a shattered glass window to get my dog as all the doors...
I was stopped at a light, and I as I continued my trip after the green. I had put the car in auto pilot. As I approached the curve there deer to my left that got my attention. The vehicle didn't follow the road, nor did it announce with any warnings, or lane assists that the vehicle was departing the lane. Impact was made into a broken guard rail. Guard Rail impaled the vehcile from the left side into the cabin impacting my left leg causing serious injuries.
Windshield of my car cracked spontaneously in two different occasions for no apparent reasons. First incident's occurred in June 2023 resulting in replacement of the windshield. Second incident occurred on December 4,2023 & vehicle is scheduled for replacement of the windshield. I thought the first event was due to rock hitting my car while driving on the highway but very likely it’s a spontaneous crack like the second.
The contact owns a 2022 Tesla Model Y. The contact stated while driving over a water puddle, she heard an abnormally loud, scraping noise coming from the vehicle without warning. Once the contact made it to the residence, she discovered that a part of the undercarriage had detached from the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to a Tesla Service Center where she was later provided an estimate for the repair; however, the contact was never informed or given an explanation as to the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.
I am writing to formally submit a complaint against the Tesla Service Center in Rockville, Maryland. My concerns relate both to a potential safety issue and the subsequent handling of repairs to my vehicle. 1. **Safety Concern:** On 08/25/2023, the driver-side window of my Tesla vehicle shattered spontaneously without any evident external cause. This sudden malfunction while the car was in use is alarming, representing a significant safety concern for passengers and other road users. I believe that such a defect warrants immediate attention, especially if this is a recurring issue among other Tesla vehicles. 2. **Unsatisfactory Service Post-incident:** After bringing my vehicle to the service above center for repairs, I was relieved that the window issue would be addressed under warranty. However, when my car was under Tesla’s care, another Tesla customer hit and damaged it within their premises. What is profoundly distressing is how the service center addressed...

I HAVE HAD 3 BROKEN WINDSHIELDS IN 9,400 MILES OF TRAVEL. I AM PRETTY SURE EACH WAS CAUSED BY FLYING ROCKS, BUT AT ONE REPAIR THE TESLA SERVICE MANAGER MENTIONED THAT THE WINDSHIELDS ARE VERY THIN TO SAVE WEIGHT. I BELIEVE THE WINDSHIELDS ARE VULNERABLE TO DAMAGE. I HAVE A 2018 TESLA MODEL 3 WITH 90,000 MILES THAT HAS NEVER HAD A CRACKED WINDSHIELD DRIVING IN THE SAME LOCALE. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY PROBLEM IF THE WINDSHIELD CRACKS AT SPEED. I DON’T THINK CRACKED WINDSHIELDS ARE REPORTED AS FAULTS, BUT I BET THAT THERE HAVE BEEN MANY MANY Y’S WITH CRACKED WINDSHIELDS.
I feel Tesla is building cars with non-standard parts and structural issues. 1.I bought a new car and started hearing brakes noises from 6000 miles where as previous car brakes rotors were good till 70k miles. 2.Within 9000 miles, driver side door, A pillar, B pillar, rear seats, display panel has to be either insulated or replaced. I am not sure how this effects car value or vehicle integrity going forward.
2nd row floor is flexing. Same issue found on Model 3 which already has a service bulletin for it. Tried to tell Tesla Service but they won't address it and will not fix it per the service bulletin and every shop that I went will do their own repair that doesn't fix the issue. Here's the service bulletin on the Model 3 which is the same issue. SB-18-45-002 https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10143016-9999.pdf
As I was going up the ramp from Peachtree-Dunwoody Road onto 285E on Thursday, Jan 5th around 7pm, there is a tree on the left hand side that has long branches that extend into the road. The branches of the tree hit the side of my car. I heard it as I was driving but didn’t think anything of it. When I got home I had the chance to look at my car. There is a scratch on the side of the car that the tree limbs hit. The scratch actually looks like someone keyed my car. My car is brand new and I want to report this incident to prevent others from getting their cars scratched up. It would be helpful if the tree limbs could be cut down to prevent car damage. I also would like to be compensated for the damage to my car. I am happy...
First my car was having issues charginging at the charge stations. Then as soon as that issue occurred, I had to replace the car battery. Then I noticed that the windows would randomly retract while I was driving my vehicle. My child had pointed out that his window was down, when he did not roll it down. Then I noticed some leakage from underneath my vehicle. My main concern of fluids leaking from my vehicle was my main concern. The Tesla dispatcher confirmed that concern by stating that fluids should not be leaking from my vehicle. When he started accusing me of having a car accident that caused me to be even more concerned. He told me that the Tesla service center on 1100 Colorado Ave, Santa Monica, Ca. would find out if I did have an accident by running a diagnostics. When I had my car towed to the...
Front trunk (hood) flew open while driving at approximately 40mph. The front trunk lid/hood opened completely and smashed into the windshield, completely blocking driver visibility and breaking the glass. It is unclear as to how the front trunk became unlocked, but in the event it was unlocked while the car was in park, the car should not have been able to shift into gear. Tesla Model Y's Owners Manual states: "If the front trunk is not closed, a message displays on the touchscreen that you cannot shift the vehicle out of Park until the front trunk is securely closed (see Park)." Additionally, the Owners Manual states: "Model Y will not shift out of Park if the front trunk is not securely shut" In the event the trunk was open prior to driving, the car should not have been able to shift out of Park. Or, if the trunk opened while...
While driving the frunk/hood opened while vehicle was in motion. Everything says your not able to drive or opening while in drive. My wife had just used it shopping. Drove 300 yards with No warnings. Then stopped at a light then when she was accelerating it opened and broke windshield, hood and hinges, scratched left fender inside. She was able to pull over without cause anymore damage to her or anyone else. I then meet her and I was able to drive the car with the hood open and damaged. I then removed the hood completely in order to drive it home all while no safety warnings going off. Tesla has had it since 6/3 and no determination of why or fault. $4600 estimate for repairs Still not fixed
