2019 RAM 5500 — Problems, Recalls & Safety Data

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 5500. While the contact's husband was driving the vehicle at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The driver became aware of an abnormally loud sound. Additionally, the vehicle failed to exceed 40 MPH while driving on a busy highway. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and agreed to cover the cost of the high-pressure fuel pump repair only. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.

While unloading cargo, I was standing on the flatbed of the truck, leaning over the standing side-gates, without realizing they weren’t locked in place.
