The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera image was blue, and the message "Camera Unavailable" was displayed. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the vehicle made abnormal knocking sounds and stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted; however, the failure persisted. The contact was able to pull into a gas station and parked the vehicle. A mechanic informed the contact that the sound was coming from the engine; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
The contact owns a 2022 Ram 1500. The contact stated that after shifting into reverse(R), the back-up camera image was flickering. The contact stated that at other times the back-up camera display was not showing any images. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, but eventually, the camera was no longer functional, and only displayed a blue screen. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the back-up camera wiring harness had short-circuited and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 47,933.

The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the camera wiring harness might need to be replaced. In addition, upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V437000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. An appointment with the dealer was scheduled to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 20,000.
