Coming up to a T junction where I had to stop and turn left, slowed to about 2 mph and accelerated into a left hand turn when truck's engine died, truck stopped and the parking brake was engaged automatically. The transmission didn't turn to neutral so minimal rolling just stopped in middle of road. Cars around me had to brake to avoid hitting mine.
Engine has stalled multiple times while making turns, left or right. Was able to restart every time. Dealer cannot replicate and has not repaired.
Driving 8-10mph in traffic when truck engine died. Truck stopped and engaged emergency parking brake. Was able to restart truck and go on my way. 2600miles on odometer, I have read many other owners experiencing exact same issue with eTorque.
At approximately 9,000 miles I was turning left from a residential area traveling at 15-25 mph. During the turn, and without warning, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle shifted to park, the electronic parking brake engaged and the engine shut off. There were no warning lights before the incident and the incident has not occurred since. I pressed the start button and the engine fired and was operational. Of concern is that the vehicle stalled while I was being followed by another car. Fortunately, the other driver realized something was wrong and was able to stop before striking the rear of the truck. A certified dealership found no current or history codes when it scanned, and could not duplicate the issue. No repairs were done.
Engine died while driving. There could have been a collision if the oncoming vehicle would have failed to stop in time. The problem has not been reproduced. Dealership could not find a code. There is an appointment scheduled 11/16/21 for the Dealership to inspect the vehicle again. This is the third time that this has occurred. 1st time was as soon as I pulled off the dealership lot with 34 miles on the vehicle. The 2nd time was at 300 miles on the vehicle and the 3rd time, the vehicle has 1022 miles. All these incidents has occurred in 3 weeks.
My new truck has less than 500 miles on it, and it was just purchased new last month. This incident has happened to me twice so far on the mornings of 10/31/2021 and 11/7/2021. Making a slow left hand turn, the vehicle turned off and and stopped in the middle of the intersection. The vehicle emergency brake also automatically was set when it stalled. The message on the dash said something like to restart, put foot on brake and push start button. This incident was very dangerous and could have resulted in an accident. I am lucky I was not hit in the intersection. In both cases, this occurred about a mile from my home and my initial trip of the day. Temperature outside was normal about 60 degrees. I have scheduled an appointment with the dealer for 11/9/2021
While driving about 5mph approaching an intersection my ram shut off without warning, said “apply brake to start vehicle” and as I rolled through the intersection with zero control at about 2mph it set its parking brake by itself. I had to move my shifter to park, apply the brake, restart the truck, and turn off the parking brake IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. Thank God it was a small subdivision intersection at night so there was no traffic or myself or someone else could have been hurt or killed. No dash warning lights, no remaining lights, no codes thrown, no issue after restarting, no reproducible codes found by the dealer. Only 1,000 miles on the truck. I’m terrified of this happening again, but haven’t been able to replicate it myself or the dealer. It’s not safe and I don’t want to die as a result of this. It...
The contact owns a 2021 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH, the engine suddenly shut off and the message "Put in Park" was displayed on the dashboard. The vehicle continued to roll away before automatically switching to the park position causing the vehicle to abruptly stop. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,113.
The incident is related to the truck’s engine and possibly hybrid electrical system. When pulling away from a light, the truck reached about 10 MPH and then stalled out. The electronics remained on but the engine would not start. This had happened once previously and the engine did start up after going through a key cycle. I was left stranded in the middle of a busy intersection, endangering myself and others on the road. Luckily some firefighters were close by to stop traffic and help me get the truck to a safe location. I had the truck towed to RAM on 10/22. I still have not heard back with their suspected issue and repair plan. The truck is at Arrigo Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in West Palm Beach FL. I also found TSB-08-014-21 that seems related to my issue. I’ve passed this information off to the dealer as well.
2021 5.7L HEMI e-Torque with 5000mi. While traveling at approximately 25mph I slowed down to stop at a stop sign and the truck start shifting down as it should. At around 5/7mph the rpms drop below 500, no feedback when applying the gas pedal and the engine stops or sometimes is able to recover. When it stops, the truck shifts to P and applies the Parking brake. I’m able to start the engine back up every time this happens but there’s something wrong for sure. I’m able to replicate this issue every time the engine is cold or haven’t been running for a long period of time Took the truck to the dealer. They couldn’t find any codes or replicate the issue. Took it back to the dealer 2 days later after it stalled again. This time they were able to find 1 code. P1C64-00 - Hybrid perf. Engine speed...
engine stalls coming up to stop sign, no warning light, truck will not start until it comes to a comple stops, no power brakes, truck computer apples parking brake and you have to put in park and release brake before you can restart. This happen in the middle of a intersection with traffic on both sides of vehicle. no warning light.
Was backing out of a parking spot truck shut off when restarted it was limited power and check engine light. 1920 miles.
Twice in one week the Truck has stalled in the middle of the road at very low speed. Maybe it a issue with the etorque. This can be very dangerous and may cause an accident. I have read about the same problem/same issue with this 2021 Ram 1500.
On two occasions vehicle has stalled after making a stop and then turning onto another roadway. First incident occurred at approximately 60 miles on odometer on 09/01/2021. Vehicle stopped as stop sign prior to making a right hand turn. When engaging the throttle after the stop, vehicle stalled partway into the turn, and the console indicator stated to place vehicle in park before starting. The emergency brake also engaged. As I was halfway into the turn, traffic was momentarily clear, however, other motorists were approaching. I had to place vehicle in park, release parking brake, and then shift back into drive. The second incident occurred with the odometer at approximately 1816 miles on 10/16/2021. Circumstances were identical with the exception of roadway was in residential area, therefore there was no oncoming traffic when vehicle stalled in intersection.
I left my house 10/18/21 to go to work, drove the truck approximately 2 miles going into two separate curves and then stopping at a stop sign. As I accelerated forward and turning to the left the trucks motor suddenly just shut down and a message that said place vehicle in park and push brake in to restart engine. That is not exactly what it said I semi panicked as cars where behind me and one coming in front of me.
Once again I'm having to make a complaint. While going 70 on the freeway the truck shut off out of nowhere. Almost causing multiple vehicle to hit me with my kids in the car! Some red light on the dash quickly flashed and right after the truck shut off. A vehicle behind be stopped and slowed traffic down thankfully and I was frantically able to start it and immediately pulled off the freeway and just thankful. I called my hubby to come switch vehicles cause I wasn't going to drive it after that. I'm still having issues with the truck staying on after turning it off happened about twice a week for a few minutes then I move parking spots and see what happens. Just a beautiful truck but so many safety issues. Oh and seems like the truck was slapped together. Mufflers aren't straight or even, interior door panels...
Was driving at slow speed making a right turn no brake or acceleration coasting through a turn and the 2021 Ram 1500 Larime with eTorque turned off and I had to pull to the side of the road. Engine was off, radio, lights and dash were all on and it went into e brake telling me to apply brake, turn off e brake and restart….highly dangerous. Appears to be a major issue with many of these trucks. Mine only has 1200 miles, it’s brand new.
While slowing down to make a right turn and then trying to accelerate the vehicle stalled, turned itself off, put itself in park and applied the parking brake. This has happened twice now. The first time at approximately 4,000 miles and the second time just over 6,000 miles. This has been reported to the dealer, they flashed the PCM, but that obviously dod not correct the issue.
Brand new under 2k miles. After being at a stop sign took a right turn, under 30mph car just trucknjust turned off. All warnings flashed, immediately stopped the engine and almost caused a multiple vehicle accident. After about a minute was able to restart and go. Has happened a few times. Dealer doesn't see anything wrong with it.
While traveling at approximately 15 mph I slowed to make a right hand turn. Truck was moving slowly enough, maybe 5-8 mph through the turn that I did not apply the accelerator, nor did I have any brake pressure applied to complete the turn. Before I could straighten the truck out of the turn, it stalled. Center screen stated to place vehicle in park before starting. The emergency brake applied itself and I had to place vehicle in park, release e-brake, and restart the vehicle. This has happened about 5 times now in the last 2 weeks, dealer says no recalls at this time, no problems can be found. I fear I am driving a very unsafe vehicle that is less than 6mo old and has 5800 miles on it.
Vehicle stalled after stop at intersection. Engine shut off and auto shifted to park and applied the parking brake.
I was turning right at 2-3 mph when the engine shut off, vehicle shifted to park, and electronic parking brake applied itself. I had to shift to Park and release the electronic parking brake to restart it. The truck had been parked for approximately 8 hours following a 26 mile drive. Outside air temperature was around 70 deg F. Truck has been in my possession for 8 days and has about 1100 miles on it. It is an eTorque engine. Fuel level was about 3/4 tank. The truck had been running for about 5 minutes and traveled about 1/4 mile. The truck is completely stock.
I was driving truck at 25 mph. I started slowing down to make a left turn. upon making left turn, power was lost and I tried to step on the gas but no power. truck full of gas with only 90 miles at time of occurrence. sign on the dash to put truck on park as it was loosing power. radio and lights remained on but no power. truck came to a complete stop. turned off and tried to turn back on and once it turned on emergency brake was automatically applied by vehicle. removed parking brake and truck was shaking and acting as if transmission or something was going to go out again.
While performing left hand turn, braked to make turn, truck slowed down and engine cut off and display indicated put in park, emergency brake engaged. Had to come to complete stop and put in park to start back up. Had to manually disengage parking brake.
While making a right hand turn from a stop at low speed, my truck completely stalled all electrical systems and dash indicators turned off or failed and the vehicle coasted to a stop. I was able to restart the truck using the normal start procedure and there were no further issues. This could have resulted in a traffic accident with potentially fatal injuries.
- Started the truck after sitting overnight. - Drove about .5 miles to a stop sign, started to accelerate and the truck stalled. It automatically applied the Peking break. - After turning knob to Park and manually engaging/disengaging parking break a few time, truck finally started back up.
The contact owns a 2021 Ram 1500. The contact stated while making a left turn, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the parking brake applied independently. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive to his destination. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,915.
Just purchased truck a few days ago. Only 350 miles on it now. On 9-27-21 at approximately 8:50am, I was taking my son to school. I stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded to make a right turn onto the roadway when all of a sudden the engine cut off. Everything else stayed on in the truck. It would not allow me to apply the brakes, start the engine, turn the steering wheel, etc. It traveled across the roadway, into oncoming traffic lane, and then came to a soft stop by itself halfway on the roadway. It activated the electronic brake therefore I had to deactivate the brake, apply brake, turn the shifter to park and then restart the engine, disengage the parking brake again, and shift back into drive in order to drive. All this while in the wrong travel lane. Dealer and FCA has been contacted and...
Vehicle stalls while driving leaving occupants stranded in travel lane. Restart times vary, with the shortest time to restart being ten minutes. Dealer service could not replicate. Our code reader found that a fuel pump circuit code PO627 was present. Dealer cleaned ground connection and released vehicle in five days. Three days later problem repeated and vehicle would not start (all video recorded) and it was necessary to have it towed back to dealer with only 153 total miles on odometer. I did not have my code reader so I couldn’t check before it was towed. Vehicle has remained at dealer for last 15 days with the problem unresolved
My 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 has stalled 8 times since purchasing the vehicle. The first occurrence was the day after purchasing the vehicle. In each instance, the circumstances have been identical: The vehicle speed is reduced to a near stop. The accelerator is applied gently. The engine cuts out. The vehicle places itself in park. The vehicle activates the parking brake. In each instance, the vehicle has stalled when attempting to merge into traffic. This vehicle defect creates a significant safety concern as in each instance, I have been without power, and had to re-start the vehicle while sitting in an active lane of traffic. Online forums dedicated to the 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 would indicate that my experience(s) are not isolated.
Truck stalled during slow speed right hand turn. When I attempted to hit the gas coming out if the turn it stalled. Display says to put in park. Emergency auto brake engaged when moving transmission into neutral to restart.
While driving, 6+ warning lights (Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Unavailable Service Required, Service Electronic Stability Control, Service Trailer Brake System, Forward Collison Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Service Engine, and a module failure) appeared and then the truck shut off in motion. Had to pull over to put the truck in park and attempt to restart, took several tries.
Taking a low speed (10mph) right turn into traffic the truck cut off and the emergency brake came on. Took 15-20 second to get the truck moving again.
2021 5.7L HEMI e-Torque While traveling at approximately 20mph I slowed down to stop at a stop sign and the truck start shifting down as it should. At around 5/7mph it stops, the truck shifts to P and applies the Parking brake. I’m able to start the engine back up every time this happens but there’s something wrong for sure.
2021 Long Horn 5.7L HEMI e-Torque with 8800 miles - stalled 3 times at low speeds All 3 times have been a really slow speeds, almost coasting at a turn or a light and then realizing that the engine stalled. The 2nd time was in middle of an intersection. I was able to get it through the intersection and put into neutral and restart. The 3rd stall was immediately after at a Red light. The auto park engaged at about 2-3 mph right when the light turned Green and I almost got hit from behind before I could restart and get off the road. I've had my kids in the truck for two of these stalls and its a matter of time before this causes an accident. I made an appt at my dealer today, they looked at me with a blank stare like they have never heard of this...
On May 18th, 2021 my 2021 Ram 1500 Limited shut itself off while pulling out of my neighborhood. The emergency brake activated itself, and there were no error codes. I took to the dealership, and they could not replicate the issue and stated they found no problems. Today, on 7/31/21, it did the exact same thing, except this time I almost got hit by another vehicle. I have filed a second complaint with FCA, but this is definitely a serious safety issue.
While driving about 10mph the engine stalled and i could not restart or put it into park for 2 minutes. If i had been on a road instead of parking lot i would have been hit. I Jane etorque 5.7L v8 engine. There are many other reports of this issue reported online.
Have had truck 2 times stall while driving. Will completely shut down while driving 15-20 MPH after breaking then letting off the break pedal shuts down - the parking break will engage itself and the truck will go into park. To restart I have too disengage parking break manually. The incident happened June 23rd with 3500 miles then recently at 8k.
Truck stalls while making hard turns, usually at slower speeds. Truck has also cut off while making a turn into traffic. I've read about a number of consumers having the same issue with the etorque Hemi engines. To answer the above questions: - Not sure what system failed but the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. - The safety of myself & family are put at risk anytime the stalling occurs, especially when turning on to a road with oncoming traffic as the truck could potentially shut off again automatically. - The issue has yet to be confirmed by a dealer. I take the vehicle in on 8/1/2021 to be diagnosed. - The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance representative as of yet. - No prior warning lamps, messages or other symptoms aside from stalling at different times. This issue has been ongoing for...
I got to a stop and the e-torque kicked in, as I departure from a complete stop the truck stalled as I entered the intersection to a complete stop, dash advised to put the vehicle in the park position before starting it, after a few minutes I was able to restart the truck and put it in drive to drive away. huge safety hazard and life threatening since I was on my way to take my daughter to school when this happened.
While driving at any speed the engine will shut off an I will lose all communication to the 2 key fobs. After the vehicle stops it will engage the parking break and will not restart. I have had the vehicle towed 3 times for this issue and all three times were on a busy dangerous road. Local police had to come and stop traffic for a safe tow hook. Also makes it very difficult to exit heavy traffic on the highway with no ability to control the speed of the vehicle. Dealer has claimed to fix it 3 times, but all 3 times have failed. Dealer has test drove the vehicle and can reproduce the problem. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Engine/Electrical system, yes it is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at...
My vehicle's engine stalls (turns off) while driving at slow speeds. After stalling the transmission tries to put itself in park and the electronic E-brake is automatically applied causing the truck to grind and stop abruptly. This is a safety concern because the vehicle automatically and abruptly stops itself not providing an opportunity to safety move out of traffic. There is also high risk and concern of someone behind the vehicle colliding due to the abrupt stop. The vehicle has been brought to an authorized dealer with no codes or ability to duplicate the problem. No warming lights, messages, codes, or symptoms prior to or after it happening. The vehicle is brand new, happened twice with less than 4,000 miles on it.
Was making a left had turn from a stop sign and my truck just shut off. I was going roughly 5 mph or less when this happened. I was able to coast for a second until the emergency brakes came on for some reason while the truck was still in drive. The only thing that came up on the dash was something along the lines of “put the vehicle in park and apply the brake to turn off parking brake and to start the vehicle”. The radio and all electrical related stuff seemed to have stayed on. This is the first time this has happened since I bought the truck and I only have roughly 700 miles on it.
Driving on city streets at low speed, the engine has stalled 3 times from April to July 2021. All 3 times occurred within 5-10 minutes of starting the vehicle. Approaching an intersection, then slowly making a turn (once turning left, twice turning right) and attempting to accelerate. As the accelerator is pressed, it’s as if no signal is sent to the engine, then the engine stalls. The info screen on the dash instantly says to press the engine start button, but when pressing, it then says to put the vehicle in park. The truck is brought to a stop in the street, then the truck automatically sets the parking brake (auto parking brake is deactivated in settings). The truck is then shifted into park, engine restarted and parking brake released. Each time this has happened has been at speeds less than 5mph. The vehicle has less than 5,000 miles. No...
I started the truck and drove about a 1/4 mile in my neighborhood. I never got over 20 mph. I approached a red stop light to turn right. I stopped at the light to check for traffic. I then proceeded to turn right and 1/2 way through the turn the truck shut off without warning and it automatically applied the emergency brake. Luckily there were no cars coming in the right hand lane else we could have been hit. I am taking it to the dealership tomorrow for inspection. The info screen notified me that the emergency brake had been applied and that the transmission had been autoset to park. It said to apply the brake to start the truck (it has push button start). I did so and the truck started. I disengaged the emergency brake and the truck then drove normally the rest of the trip.
Pulled out into Traffic SEVERE lack of acceleration almost cause Me to get hit in the Driver side door. Got online and noticed a lot of People complaining about a Pedal Lag. This Is DANGEROUS and needs to be addressed. This is a 2021 Ram with 283 miles on it again this is a DANGEROUS issue
Making a right hand turn into school parking lot at 7:11 am this morning the engine died, steering went stiff and emergence parking break set. Almost caused a very serious accident with injury's to multiple minors. Was moving 11 MPH with my foot on the brake into the right turn, when I let off the brake the engine died. The cluster screen told me to place the vehicle into park and release the emergency brake.
Backed out of garage, rolled down driveway and turned left onto my street. Drove about a tenth of a mile to the stop sign, pretty easy with light gas since truck was still warming up. Rolled slowly (2-3) mph to make a right turn lightly feathering the gas and 3/4 through the turn pressed a little more on the gas and truck died. Just before it came to a stop, the parking brake engaged and a message on screen said to place vehicle in park. Engine started back up after I came to a stop and put it in park. No codes or other messages displayed. If I was pulling on to a busy street there would have been a very high chance that I would have been hit. 2021 Ram 1500 hemi etorque with 800 miles on it.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MOUNTAIN STREET WHICH GETS BUSY AROUND RUSH HOUR (5:30 PM) AND THE ENGINE SUDDENLY TURNED OFF. I HAD NO POWER. I WAS SCARED. I BARELY MADE IT TO USE THE BRAKES AND TURN ON A SMALL SHOULDER. I STARTED THE TRUCK AND MADE IT HOME.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE TRUCK STALLED AND PROMPTED ME TO PUT IT INTO PARK TO START. IT THEN AUTOMATICALLY WENT TO PARK WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING AND APPLIED THE PARKING BRAKE ON ITS OWN.
