June 2025 rear door locks stopped working. (Odometer 12,538) I was unable to lock/unlock doors with key fob or with inside driver's door lock/unlock button. Repaired 06/10/2025 at Mentor Nissan, 44060, by replacement of parts #82500-6R0B & 82501-6R0B: CONTROLLER-LOCK in both rear doors. Incident #2: Feb 2026 front driver-side door lock became inoperable, the same as had occurred with the rear door locks. I'm at Nissan Mentor today (02/17/2026) for evaluation & repair. (Odometer 15,200) Both of these door lock issues resulted in inability to enter/exit vehicle. Very dangerous if someone were unable to exit vehicle in emergency. Otherwise a big inconvenience requiring one to climb over other seats to enter/exit vehicle. The car is under extended warranty. June 2025 I paid $100 deductible plus tax & fee, totaling $110.21. The vehicle has experienced multiple incidents of change of transmission from automatic to manual while driving, without warning. When this occurs, the vehicle loses speed while in motion, creating an immediate and severe safety hazard. •The issue began shortly after purchase •The defect has occurred multiple times, including twice in a single weekend •The issue persists despite multiple dealership service visits •The dealership initially misdiagnosed the issue •I possess video recordings of the shutdown events •The vehicle is currently at Clay Cooley Nissan (since November 15, 2025) •Nissan has delayed inspection until February 5, 2026 •I am unable to safely drive the vehicle •My family is without transportation •I continue to incur financial hardship as a result A vehicle that loses speed unexpectedly while driving poses a risk of: •Collision •Injury or death •Loss of vehicle control •Endangerment of other motorists
Back window glass exploded into car and onto garage floor. Had just started car and put in reverse when loud explosion occurred and stopped the car to inspect. Found entire back window shattered and pieces resting inside car trunk, rear seats, and garage floor. Insurer had Safelite come to replace the window but technician could not complete the replacement since the black plastic wiper motor plastic assembly was cracked. Just found a new motor assembly at Nissan Dealer (Capitol in Wilmington, NC) and purchased out of pocket for $380.68 after negotiating a reduction of $200 with the dealer. Also, have a $250 deductible and Safelite charge for new wiper arm and blade $47.
Rear Window "exploded" while car was parked at a private residence driveway, 50 degree day, foggy morning. No one was in car at time in this case.
I had turned on my front and rear window defrosters and as I was driving along the road, my rear windshield shattered unprovoked.
While driving approximately 40 mph , lost power to the vehicle. No lights no warnings. The gas pedal pushed all the way to the floor and wouldn’t go , lost power steering AND ALL. coasted into a parking lot where my dash then gave the RAB light and a oil light , not due for a oil change , and still won’t turn on.
Nissan chime speaker unbelievably loud at car start up. The seat belt chimes and any chime that comes from the dash speaker is louder than normal. The speaker is “ inst panel speaker 24832-6ra0a. “ I have only had this car for one year this November. It happened for a few days during the first month or two having the car then it went back to normal, now it is doing it again and has lasted a month. Seems to happen only when it’s cold outside. Sometimes chime will start normal then grow increasingly loud.
When closing the back window of my Nissan Rogue it shattered
Since October of 2024, I've been having recurring leaks coming through the front right passenger's side at the top corner of the windshield, where the seam in the fabric meets. I have had multiple appointments at Nissan dealerships, where I've been told "your drains are clogged," "it's how it was manufactured," "we'll add some sealant," etc. and the problem has progressively gotten worse and worse, spreading to other areas of my roof, staining my interior, and causing mold and mildew issues. I wonder if it's not a sunroof problem, but a roof rack problem. There was a recall on a batch of 2021 Nissan Rogues in 2021 for this issue, but my car's manufacturing date unfortunately did not fall under that recall. I continue to get a check engine light on my car that reads code P0101. The very first time it happened I took it to a mechanic they read the diagnostic code and advised I would need to replace the Mass Airflow sensor. I purchase the part from a Nissan dealership and it was replaced by a mechanic approximately January 2025. The light would continue to come on sporadically. I took it back and was told that engine air filter was dirty. It was replaced the code was cleared and driving fine. 10 months later the same light and code are appearing on my car. It’s been taken to a mechanic whom after checking wiring and other components again believes it’s the mass air flow sensor. This part is not cheap but continues to cause a problem even when replaced with genuine parts.
I noticed that my car was often unlocked after I knew for a fact that I locked it. I also had a problem with the right passenger door not unlocking even when the unlock button was pushed. I would often have to physically unlock that door on its own. After this happened for about a month, the car now opens even if I have locked it, with some of the doors causing the alarm to sound, even the door easily opened. I am concerned about safety especially when going out late at night or leaving my car parked in public lots. The problem was confirmed by the dealer when I went in for service. They inspected it and told me the door lock actuators on the back doors are bad. After looking this up, I see that there is a class action suit pending for this issue. There were no...
My auctuators door locks have failed numerous times. The passenger rear was replaced when the vehicle was still under warranty. In the last 6 months the front drivers side, and passenger side has failed. Nissan does not have a recall on these and should! My car only has 32,000 miles on it. There obviously is an issue that needs to be addressed with a recall.
My back hatch has been leaking causing my camera to mess up I do have video of it but I’ve been told many other rogue owners have this issue
[XXX] was involved in a single person collision,the vehicle hit head on into a building. [XXX] put her foot on the brake however the car speed up on its own causing her to run into a building. Which causes her to be involved in an accident. As you can see Nissan has not taken any responsibility for the vehicle involved despite any recalls. Which as you can see they have 0 fixes. My 2021 Nissan rouge spontaneously caught on fire at midnight on 7/31/2025.
Summary of Issue: While driving my 2021 Nissan Rogue SL using cruise control, a vehicle turned left in front of me. My Rogue beeped, disengaged cruise control, and abruptly lost acceleration without braking. This sudden loss of throttle caused my car to decelerate in the middle of the road during active traffic, nearly resulting in a collision. There were no warning lights or messages, and the issue did not resolve until I manually took control of acceleration. Safety Concern: I rely on cruise control regularly, and this unexpected disengagement created a dangerous situation that compromised my ability to safely maintain speed and respond to surrounding traffic. I’m concerned this may be a fault within the adaptive cruise control system or a misinterpretation by the forward-facing sensors.
I’m not exactly sure what is wrong but can only assume it would be engine or transmission related. While driving whether it’s city streets going 5 to 35 miles an hour or on the freeway with a speed limit of 75 at any moment while driving RPMs will shoot high and stay high until I am able to safely pull over Put the vehicle in park and then proceed back into drive. This has happened several times while on the freeway, which poses serious safety issues in pulling off a freeway safely, and has happened numerous times driving the city streets in my town. I took the vehicle in to be checked out And was told CVT transmissions are notorious for having issues, especially in this year make and model of vehicle. We have had a problem where our battery had died on us out of nowhere. We took it to autozone to check out or battery and they said it was low and we just had to drive it around so we can charge it. We did that didn’t work so we changed the battery. Well two months later our car won’t start anymore and our battery drained again. Now our car won’t start we had to jump start it again and even with that the battery wont hold its charge. We had a good friend who is a mechanic come in and help us and he did what he could to inspect the car and he was at a lost couldn’t tell us why the car won’t start.
Sunroof randomly shattered while driving on highway with no debris. Further research shows this is not the first time the sunroof randomly shattered while driving.

The back-up camera on my car no longer functions. When put in reverse, the back-up area appears gray and there is an X in it. The birds-eye view portion works on the sides and front, but the back is also gray and has an X in it. Other 2021 Nissan Rogues were recalled for this problem happening around the 50,000 mile mark. Mine was not one of them but I am thinking it probably should have been. No accidents have happened and I do know how to use mirrors to back up but this should not be happening. I would not report it if I had not seen that thousands of2021-22 Nissan Rogues had been recalled for this issue. I was driving on highway 68 and heard a loud bang. Like an explosion. Parked my car and found that the sunroof had exploded. It sounded like a gunshot.
Lots of things of my car, I replaced battery after I bought this car just 2 years. I replaced mount engine when My car was 60k it is too early! Problem with airflow to engine that my mechanical found out the code recall and this was happening before my warranty is out! Transmission problem so fast and I also thought it was out of warranty that happened around 75k. It is terrible car that I have used!!! Ok , so 4 weeks ago I was driving down Jefferson Avenue here in st. Louis mo. The road is completely redone , no bumps, pothole etc. I was traveling about 35mph when car stared this possible wobble.. got out and notice my drivers side tie rod had snapped in half. Mind you my car only has 44k on it and I take immaculate care of it. I searched all over trying to find a tie rod for it. No one could produce one. Navigation system is unreliable and unsafe Nissan verified this and a failure and ordered a new unit 2 years ago and has not arrived and they refuse to fix it it the navigation drops out when driving in the middle of navigation causing a safety hazard and goes blank and I have to do a reset the dealer also has done resets and hasnt fixed it nissan has acknowledged the problem as there are many problems and dont care if its fixed many times ive had to go to my phone as this has display and system has almost got us killed many times....
Since i Financed my car is have been hearing cracking sounds when turning the steering wheel. I reached out to dealership several times and kept being told someone will contact me. Over months and several calls no help was giving. I went to dealership and made someone come out to check my car noise. They made me take it back another day to be fixed they said it was the break back plate turns out I get car back noise stated again. I called again took back again they said it was rear strut part was on backorder so had to wait weeks for part. Took it back on 9/17 as they take the old strut out another piece they claimed crumbled into pieces my car stayed overnight as they had to order part. 9/18 i get a call they fixed it test drove but still hears cracking sounds. My backup camera was intermittent and then stopped working. Had extended warranty and got backup camera replaced. Worked for 2 weeks than was intermittent again. Brought back into dealership and was told that it was the wiring harness inside the back tailgate that was the issue. In order to fix the whole back tailgate of my 2021 Rogue SV AWD had to be replaced. Camera only works 2% of the time. Nissan won't take care of the problem.
After car is in park and idle for 20+ minutes the car begins to smell like fumes. Caused bad migraines and nausea - having to exit the car and leave the doors open for 30 minutes to remove the smell.
Nissan is aware of this issue as referenced in TSB 21-097B where the windshield and roof leak water into the vehicle causing damage to the interior of the vehicle, including soaking/staining the headliner and water running down the sides of the interior of the vehicle and potentially causing electrical and safety problems. They have been aware of this issue on 2021-2023 Rogues for several years, put out a technical service bulletin, but have not proactively fixed any of the vehicles. When this happened, my wife experience intermittent connectivity issues with the Rogue.
On or about, July 25, 2024, while standing next to vehicle, I noticed cracking of the windshield rubber (the rubber around the windshield). After further inspection, it’s along the top, where there is also rubber seals (which is now melted into the vehicle). This vehicle is 3 years old with 12,200 miles.
Right when the summer started to reach 100 degree weather, the air conditioner went out on my car. It jas stopped reading the outside air temperature. Nissan I have gotten two different opinions that vary greatly in price and time. After doing some research, I have noticed this is an ongoing problem with 2021 Nissan Rogues. With Nissan being difficult to work with. Nissan states the whole compressor needs to be replaced.

Hello, My VIN is not included part of recall which it has for this year. It has same symtom as other vehicles where vehicle slows down while driving. "One of the most common causes for slow acceleration in Nissan Rogue is a faulty CVT valve body, which is part of the continuously variable transmission system. This can cause the car to lose power and acceleration after driving for a long time or in hot weather." Nissan Manufacturer is not willing to listen to me or test it. I need some asisstance.
All headrests in the car became moldy and flaked white powder onto the seats. This car was part of the COVID issues and I was told it sat on a parking lot for approximately a year before receiving a chip. I purchased the car in the summer of 2022. In 2023 I noticed my headrests were getting a white powder on them. In the seams, front, back, and all sides. It was on every single headrest. Moldy headrests can cause many health issues. I had to contact the corporate office as no one was taking it seriously. I have now had all headrests replaced with new ones. They did not detail the interior of the car after replacement. I plan to do this myself.
Roof leak causing interior stains
The panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded while on the highway. The noise was highly disturbing and almost made us crash because it was so unexpected. A glass company and insurance adjuster have looked at it and determined the whole system will have to be removed. There were no prior warnings.
On around [XXX] around 9-10 pm. I hear a muffled explosion. It even vibrated our house. It scared me and our two dogs. On [XXX] we ran errands in my vehicle. We get home. I open her hatch to get stuff out. I hear broken glass sound. I look up to see her rear window completely shattered. With two holes. One in the same area on either side. The glass actually blew outwards!! I called my local Nissan in Greeneville, TN. They told me to bring it in on on [XXX]. Before taking it in. I googled our issue. Side view mirrors vibrate to the point of distortion making it harder to see vehicles. The problem is in the pedestal mount attached the doors which act like a tuning fork and need to be updated to wider base pedestals to mitigate vibration like other vehicles that have door mounted mirrors. Please help its very dangerous.
Roof rails are leaking onto A pillar curtain air bags and causing headliner to become saturated above the A pillers on both sides of the car. Water is also getting onto electrical lighting in vanity mirrors. Found a TSB on this, but also found there is a massive problem with this and it should be a recall. Multiple people who own rogues from this year are having this issue. Water could cause damage to airbags, mold in headliner, and electrical issues with upper roof controls and lighting. Made appointment with shop and will present the TSB when I get there.
Intermittent problems with the automatic transmission requiring stopping the vehicle, oft times in traffic, to restart the engine. All too often multiple restarts are required before the transmission works properly. It's a daily problem that occurs at the initial start and after coming to a traffic light. Nissan auto shops have not been able rectify the problem.
Today, 8/16/23, car had a oil change done at 32,167 mi., commented to service advisor that key needs a battery. The battery got replaced and was told that maybe the key needed to be rewired. i asked the check out receptionist how much does it cost. I was answered that its over $180 dollars.
I have had several issues over the course of 2 years with the what appears to be an electrical or computer problem with this vehicle. The dashboard will light up and all the warnings constantly display. It is not always the same alert. It has also happened a couple times while I was driving and I had to pull over. Automatic transmission slips into neutral while accelerating at low speeds on 3 separate occasions
The car seems to keep slipping into neutral while I am driving. If it’s right when pulling away, It shows the drive light is lit up, I am able to accelerate a little bit, and then I suddenly hear the loud rev of the engine, like when it’s in neutral. And I have to shift it into drive again(all while the light never appeared in neutral, it remained in drive) It’s also happened while already driving. I might stop at a light or stop sign, and when I go to accelerate again to drive away, it will make that same sound and I have to push it back into drive, and the light will remain in drive the whole time. I just purchased this vehicle, used. And it’s starting to make me feel very unsafe on the roads.
Moonroof exploded while driving 70 mph on highway today. Huge explosion then a shatter. Shards of glass were on my dog in the back seat and flew up front where I was driving.
