2015 NISSAN ALTIMA Electrical System Problems

Low beam headlights delaminated so there is not enough light to see safely at night. I replaced the entire headlight units after just replacing the bulbs to see if that would fix it

Engine light comes on i get it checked out every time is the same issue saying it's "mass air flow" it's now the 4th time i switch the piece and the car keeps on leaving me stranded now it's lead to a computer problem various mechanics have told me this particular model of year has allot of issues with this I'm not sure why there hasn't been a recall yet

i am original owner. Twice now in the early morning I have found my trunk automatically opened with out reason. I thought maybe i did it by mistake but i clearly did not after 2nd time. Never has this happened in my life to any of my cars. After looking online I found other owners also experienced same occurrence with this 2015 Altima. I understand it could be anything, bad battery in hand clicker, faulty electrical switch, etc. I located the on/off switch in the glove compartment and turned it off. Now, i just have to remember to turn it on/off all the time so i don't find the trunk opened again. I could get my car stolen if i leave my car out side and go out of town. 1) if there is a recall to get this electrical fixed, please let me known. Thank you

While driving down the interstate at 70 miles per hour, going up an incline, the car lost ALL power & then jerked kicking back into gear. Once off the interstate attempting to get to a safe place, it completely shut off without warning! No check engine lights or any warning lights. Just randomly shuts off. After replacing what was assumed as the mass flow air sensor ($186.00) & the crankshaft sensor ($80) it continues to have issues. The battery (new battery $220) was also replaced & the alternator checked due to randomly shutting off-which checked out to be fine. Come to find out it’s the CVT judder. After reading all the complaints, I’m confused as to why there isn’t a recall or extended warranty on the transmission. My car only has 119k miles! We should not be having issues with these transmission.

I have a issue with my vehicle going into LIMP MODE due to a safety issue with the TCM loosing programming with the transmission. This is a BIG SAFETY as I'm on the Hi way. The vehicle was shuddering. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed her that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. Left headlight not working

In 3 different occasions in this same particular order my car would start to slowly loose acceleration of only letting me drive to 10mph before lights on dash would come on such as ps,abs,traction control ect. Then my radio would shut off followed by my whole dashboard before completely the whole vehicle would completely shutdown on me and I could not start up again. I replaced the battery and put in a new alternator, but continued doing the exact same issue. The gear stick gets stuck when trying to shift gears it wont move from Parking, headlights seem to not give enough lighting when on, I have replaced the transmission after 3years of having the vehicle, I still owe on the loan and the vehicle still shakes when driving over 80mph on the freeway. I dont currently have any warning lights on the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle many times for repairs for the same complaint that the vehicle shakes when driving it and the problem still has not been resolved. I already spent a lot of money on trying to fix the problems.

My car battery died as I turned off the engine in a parking lot. I was unable to unlock the electronic locks. I was stuck in my car for 20 minutes at 100 degree heat before help arrived and was able to assist. There is not a manual unlock mechanism in the interior of the car that would have helped me. I even searched online for any way to let me exit the car with no electricity. If I had been farther away, my health would’ve been very compromised- I am just lucky I did not have a child with me. As a person with multiple health issues, this scenario has me absolutely terrified.

Took my car to Nissn dealership for water leak after heavy rain that could effect electrical components. Before they looked at they asked if I had a sunroof and advised it gets clogged easily with this vehicle and thats why I had water getting in my car. Involved in +$6,000 not at fault front end crash on 9/29/2021 in Tampa Florida. Aggravated previous knee problems. Vehicle is currently at Caliper Collision in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Previously vehicle was taken to dealer to have forward collision/emergency braking fixed after light on dash was on. Was told it was fixed.

Car was misfiring for a while. Got spark plugs and coils changed. Two days after they were changed car still kept misfiring and jerking and wouldn’t change from the first gear and takes a minute to accelerate after a complete stop. Has white smoke coming from the muffler. Two days ago it stalled to start and would not drive or reverse. Airbag sensor warning lamp is on. Has happened in the past as well but Nissan fixed it since there was a recall. MY BACK BREAK LIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT AND THE CASING LOOKS LIKE IT'S BURNED NOW. COULD IT CATCH FIRE?

HAVING INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH ACCELERATOR NOT FUNCITIONING. FROM TIME TO TIME YOU CAN STEP ON GAS AND IT WILL NOT RESPOND. OTHER ISSUE IS THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT FUNCITION INTERMITTENTLY.

THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. IT RAINED AND THE WATER FLOODED IN THROUGH SOME DRAIN. NOW THE VEHICLE HAD 2 INCHES OF WATER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, FRONT AND BACK. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY. THE VEHICLE IS DEVELOPING MOLD AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT IS NOT SAFE TO SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND IS A MAJOR HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS MANUFACTURING ISSUE BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE ME PAY FOR REPAIRS SINCE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY.

CAR COMPLETELY POWERED OFF WHILE TRAVELING TRAVELING AT 10MPH. THE ENGINE AND BATTERY SYMBOL APPEARED, CAR WAS ABLE TO COME TO A ROLLING STOP. PLACED IN PARK AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART WITH NO ISSUES. TEN MINUTES LATER, CAR IS TRAVELING 60MPH AND CAR POWERED OFF, CONSOLE TURNED BLACK, CAR POWERED ON, POWERED OFF AND THEN POWERED ON WHILE MAINTAINING SAME SPEED. THIRD TIME OCCURRED 5MIN LATER AS I WAS TRYING TO SAFELY PULL OVER. WAS TRAVELING UNDER 20MPH AND CAR POWERED OFF , LOCKING BREAKS AND COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE LOCKING STEERING WHEEL.

VEHICLE BACK UP MONITOR WILL GO BLANK WHEN CAR IS IN REVERSE AND BACKING UP. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AT FIRST BUT IS STARTING TO BECOME A MORE FREQUENT PROBLEM.

2015 ALTIMA HAS INCURRED TWO SEPARATE WATER LEAK ISSUES WITHIN TWO MONTHS. FIRST, DIAGNOSED AS CLOGGED AC DRAIN. THIS REQUIRED COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF CARPET. THIS WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. SECOND, DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY FIREWALL GROMMET ON STEERING ASSEMBLY. THIS ALLOWED EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF RAINWATER TO FLOOD DRIVER SIDE CARPET AND UNDER DASH ELECTRICAL WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN CLAIMS IS NOT A WARRANTY-ABLE FAILURE DUE TO "NATURE" BEING SOURCE OF WATER WHICH FLOODED THROUGH FIREWALL. DEALER STATES THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON OCCURRENCE ON 2013-2017 ALTIMAS NISSAN ALSO DOES NOT SEE HOW FAILURE OF FIREWALL GROMMET (S) COULD LEAD TO VEHICLES SINKING FASTER IN THE EVENT OF A WATER CRASH.

CAR WILL NOT DETECT KEY BOB ALL THE TIME OR SAYS NO KEY DETECTED OR WRONG KEY HAVE TRYED SEVERAL BRANDS OF NEW BATTERIES

MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS TOTALED. I HAD BEEN SMELLING SOMETHING THE DAY BEFORE IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE CITY STREET AND I SMELLED THE SMELL I HAD BEEN SMELLING STRONGER AND I LOOKED AT THE HOOD AND IT WAS SMOKING. I PULLED OVER AND MORE SMOKING STARTED POURING OUT FROM MY CAR. THEN THE DASHBOARD WENT OFF. I GOT OUT AND CALLED 911 AND BY THE TIME THEY GOT THERE THE FRONT OF MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. AFTER IT WAS PUT OUT THE FIRE HAD BURNED THROUGH JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD.

AT VERY LOW SPEED (AS IN SEARCHING FOR A PARKING SPACE) THE CAR WILL ACCELERATE, WITHOUT WARNING, AND THEN FALL BACK TO AN IDLE. MY CURRENT 2015 ALTIMA IS AT THE BODY SHOP NOW BECAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT (DUE TO THIS UNANNOUNCED ACCELERLATION) WHERE MY WIFE RAN THROUGH A WALL AT RITEAID DRUGS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PARKING SPACE AND ALMOST COMPLETELY STOPPED WHEN IT ACCELERATED. MY WIFE WAS NOT BADLY INJURED, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN, NOT OT MENTION ANY PEDESTRIANS THAT MIGHT HAVE WALKED IN FRONT OF THE HER CAR. I HAVE POLICE REPORT, PICS, ETC., BUT UNABLE TO LOAD THEM. WHEN PLACED ON PARK THE CAR STILL ROLLS FORWARD OR BACK AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR PULLS WHEN DRIVING IN A SLOW SPEED OF 5-20 MPR AND SOMETIMES THE FLOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,108.

MANUFACTURE DATE 10/14. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AFTER AN OIL CHANGE WITH FILTER. ALSO THE CABIN AIR FILTER WAS REPLACED. THE ENGINE AIR FILTER WAS NOT REPLACED. 1. OWNER LEFT SHOP AND CALLED ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER SAYING THAT SMOKE WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. TWO TECHNICIANS WENT TO THE SCENE AND FRONT OF VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS A TOTAL LOSS AND PASSENGER AREA OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS ALSO MELTED AWAY. 2. AFTER RESEARCHING FOR THIS YEAR/ MAKE AND MODEL THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL OTHER CARS WITH MYSTERIOUS FIRES. 3. DISCUSSED WITH TECHNICIAN AND THE ONLY ITEM THAT WAS

PUSH BUTTON START DOESN'T WORK DUE TO FAULTY STEERING WHEEL LOCK SYSTEM. CAR WILL NOT START UNLESS I USE REMOTE START, OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR THEN HIT BRAKE.

CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE BY IT SELF WHILE DRIVING, IT WAS A CLEAR NIGHT, I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING. JUST STARTED BY ITS SELF.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE BLIND SPOT WARNING LIGHT CONSTANTLY GOES ON & OFF. IT HAS ALWAYS DONE THIS & DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS DONE IT IN THE PAST BUT I HAVEN'T NOTICED IT LATELY. IT IS VERY ANNOYING & NOW I TURN THE SYSTEM OFF MOST OF THE TIME.

VEHICLE GETS 28 MPH ON HIGHWAY FOR LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL. VEHICLE IS ADVERTISE TO GET 36 ON HIGHWAY. TWO TRIPS OF 9 TO 10 HOURS ON HIGHWAY (NON-MOUNTAIN)SHOWS 28 MPH. THIRD TRIP 4.5 HOURS SHOWS 28 MPH ON HIGHWAY. VEHICLE GETS THE SAME 28 MPH CITY. EXTREMELY POOR MILEAGE ON HIGHWAY. I HAVE CONTINUOUSLY REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP,AND WAS TOLD BY SERVICE MANAGER THE COMPUTER HAD TO CATCH UP WITH THE CAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RODENTS WERE BITING THE WIRES INSIDE THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, THE HEADLIGHT WIRING WAS DAMAGED DUE TO THE RODENTS. THE VEHICLE WAS N OT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY ALTIMA IS ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD AND DID NOT START 4X ALREADY. IT SEEMS TO DO THIS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING WHEN THE CAR IS COLD. MY STEERING WHEEL IS VIBRATING CONSTANTLY AND I CAN FEEL A VIBRATION WITH MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. THERE IS A LOUD NOISE LIKE A CONSTANT DENTIST DRILL UNDER MY HOOD THAT IS LOUDER EVERY TIME I TURN. THE DEALERSHIP JUST REPLACED MY POWER STEERING PUMP AND THERE IS NO CHANGE! MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE CAR. IT WILL GO OFF DURING DRIVE TIME. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I HAVE MY PURSE, A BAG, HEAVY BOOKS OR A PERSON-IT SPORADICALLY GOES OFF AND ON WHILE I AM DRIVING. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE KNOWING THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH! THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED INTO GEAR AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEYLESS ENTRY FAILED AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURES RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
