The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was determined that the air bag might deploy at any time, and that the clock spring, the steering wheel, and possibly the driver’s seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 170,000.
My transmission blew out of nowhere on my 2014 Nissan Altima. It’s 6,200 to fix… I had to get it towed.
My son purchased a used 2014 Nissan Altima 4 months ago from a dealership. He noticed it shuttering, delayed acceleration and not having power as well as a noise from the transmission. It had no check engine light but the code P17F1 CVT Judder came up. We looked for recalls and there have been so many on 2014 Nissan Altima's. His VIN number didn't come up for a recall. He paid $6000 for the car and only had it for 4 months, now he is out of a car. The dealership basically said its out of our hands. We can't afford to take it to a transmission shop and have them work hours on it. It is very unsafe to drive and I am concerned what he is going to do. Is there a chance that NIssan would help in this case? It is unfair that he has the issue...
I was driving on a 2 lane highway when my car starting bucking and completely went dead. I walked to a station where i got help. after that it happened again and I had to be towed. After having car looked at by 2 mechanics I found out it was the transmission. The mechanic said he was surprised as I didn't even have 70,000 miles on car. It cost me over $5,000 for the transmission and then I came to find out about all the Nissan recalls. I wrote a letter to them and attached articles and my proof of receipt from transmission place, and explained that I am a senior on a fixed income and just wanted the money to cover expenses of what the transmission costs due to their faulty transmissions. They said they could not help me. Also, my sons car came to have the same transmission...
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a Service Station where the contact used a self-diagnostic tool to determine that the Transmission Control Module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Components that failed: -2019 & 2023 Entire headlight assembly 2x - with continuous wiring in headlight that must be adjusted before every drive. -2021 Internal lighting to illuminate the gear shift, which no longer works. -2021 Heater constantly squeals like a pig and blows every fuse, 😑 once the several fuse boxes were located. -2017 Engine revs up to 3k-4k rpm's while driving a steady 40 mph. Car went to shop after purchase for this, which is now starting again 6 yrs later. -2022 Window tint is impossible to see through and crispy to the touch. -2017 Engine sputters and car shakes signaling that the 3k miles are almost up and it's time for an oil change. -Years ago- There was a recall for passenger airbags, which hasn't been fixed, but also isn't showing up here. -Mechanics, State Inspections etc have been done as normal.
We have a 2014 Nissan Altima. Last few months it has not been driving right. We have had mechanics look at it with no answer. When the problems got worse, suggestions were made that a new transmission was needed. No one was wanting to work on it at that point. The car finally broke down while at a stoplight and we had to have it towed home. When we went to the bank, we were told that in that timeframe of when 2014 Altima’s were manufactured, a new type of transmission was installed. Then was told after a few years the transmission went bad. I would like to know if there is any truth to this, and if our Altima was a statistic of that.
I have purchased low pressure AC hose part from the local Nissan Altima dealer as there is a mechanical design issue where the low pressure AC hose is rubbing with the other part and causing a damage to the hose thus leaking refrigerant gas and spilling on the floor. I have replaced this part twice. The first time I replaced this part did not understand the real issue, the second time I have taken a closer look and found out that the low pressure ac hose is rubbing with the other part of the engine which is next to it, I went back to the dealer and informed the situation and requested to cover the warranty. He did not even bothered to look into my issue and ignored me. I had to replace the part twice due to a poor design issue and this is also a safety hazard. I...
I just bought a 2014 Nissan Altima as is from a Nissan Dealer. As the car warms up I'm getting carbon monoxide fumes coming into the car. Car was purchased at Nissan dealership as is! I took it to an auto shop and according to the computer it doesn't show any dash light warnings and cannot find the source of the problem. The car cost me $23,000.00! [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
While driving, the car began to hesitate and studder during acceleration. I had to stop at a red light. Once I began to drive again the car shut off and the engine and battery icon came on. I was able to start the car again and move out of traffic. However, the studdering/hesitance continue. I called AAA to complete a battery and diagnostic test which they found no problems with battery, cables, alternator, etc. I was told to contact the dealer and report it. I contacted Nissan and was told there’s no recalls.
I was driving on a street single line and my car just automatically stopped and didn't want to turn on it cranks but don't want to turn on I got scared because the cars behind me almost hit my car but I turned on my emergency lights and they when around me
The torque converter in my 2014 Nissan Altima S locked up according to the inspection done by my local Nissan dealership. This vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of my passenger was put at risk as my car stalled while pulling into the center median lane of a busy street. My problem has been confirmed by the inspection done by my local Nissan dealership. There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms prior to the incident.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking. While in reverse, the vehicle stalled and lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but provided no additional assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 117,081.
BOUGHT CAR LAST YEAR NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANY ISSUES A YEAR AND SOME MONTHS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES GOT OIL CHANGED THEY TOLD ME TRANSMISSION ISSUE CAME ON THEIR COMPUTER . CVT failed Car struggled to move if you go to 0 stop in signal or in freeway due to heavy traffic. Engine warning sign appeared in dashboard.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that upon taking the vehicle to an independent mechanic for an oil change, the independent mechanic informed her that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the independent mechanic hard reset the code; however, while she was driving the vehicle, the ABS warning light, the brake warning light, TPMS warning light, traction warning light, check engine warning light, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle’s computer was not communicating as designed. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the CVT transmission and ECM needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would only cover 50% of the transmission repair under an unknown recall as the vehicle had been out of warranty...
transmission felt as if it was slipping into different gears while driving forward. pulled vehicle over put it in park and then put it in reverse- at that time the vehicle went forward instead of reverse. at that time the vehicle was put into park and turned off. Waited a few minutes and then turned vehicle back on, put it into drive and it took 10 sec to drive forward I then put the vehicle in reverse and the same thing happened, it took 10 seconds to move in reverse. took the vehicle in and the repair man said it was the CVT- I have 93K miles on the car. It has been in storage since July 2020.
The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while his mother was driving in stop and go traffic, the vehicle stalled without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home. Upon doing research online, the contact discovered a technique that would cause the vehicle to reset itself once the failure occurred. The contact eventually took the vehicle to a dealer; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact also found information that the failure with his vehicle could be linked to the camshaft sensor or crankshaft sensor. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. The VIN was not available.
I was driving and I had noticed car was about to stall out. I was in major traffic and my car shut completely down in rush hour traffic. There's a recall for CTV transmission. I had taken my car to the dealership numerous of time for them to fix the recall. The service representative had advised that they don't have the CTV parts yet. So on October 14 2021 my 2014 Nissan Altima SV shutdown on a major highway a d that God I didn't get hit. I had to call a tow truck and they towed my car to the Nissan dealership. I'm still waiting on Nissan Headquarters for an answer. Also Nissan Headquarters gave me a case number
While driving the car will suddenly jerk and starts to shake and when pressing the gas the car will not accelerate so I have had to turn on emergency lights to not get hit in the back the rpm goes up but not the mph
ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING.. REPLACED CRANKSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, REPLACED THROTTLE BODY, SPARK PLUGS, SAME PROBLEM.

SATURDAY MORNING I WENT OUTSIDE TO CRANK MY CAR SO IT CAN WARM AND IT WOULDN'T START. THIS IS RIDICULOUS, PAYING ALMOST $400 A MONTH FOR A CAR I BARELY DRIVE.

I PURCHASED MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH ONLY 6 MILES ON IT IN 2014. I ONLY DROVE MY CAR FROM SCHOOL TO HOME, AS THIS WAS MY WORK VEHICLE. I FINISHED PAYING FOR MY NISSAN IN NOVEMBER OF 2019. MY NISSAN RECENTLY REACHED 90,000 MILES AND BEGAN TO SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE BEGAN TO JERK AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE IT WERE PLACED IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. THEN AT TIMES WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE THE ENGINE WOULD SHAKE AND ROAR LOUDLY, AND SHUT OFF. MY DAD HAD TO COME AND TOW THE CAR IN TWICE DUE TO IT NOT SHUTTING DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE AND IN TRAFFIC. THE NISSAN WOULD JUST STOP ACCELERATING AND LOSE POWER. IF IT CRANKED BACK UP AT STOP LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS IT WOULD ACCELERATE SO SLOWLY THAT I WOULD GET CAUGHT UNDER RED LIGHTS OR IN THE MIDDLE OF...

BY DAY 2 THE CAR BEGAN JERKING AROUND 60 MI PER HR. AND UNDER. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. BY DAY 4 ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP THE RPM WOULD JUMP UP TO 4 AND THE CAR MADE A WINDING NOISE. IT WOULD ADVANCE FORWARD QUICKLY AND THEN STALL. ALL OF THIS WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. I CAME TO A PLACE WHERE I COULD PULL OVER WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND THEN TRIED TO PULL OFF THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE. I FINALLY HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. NISSAN HAS YET TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, SAYING IT HAS AN "UNSPECIFIED CODE". IT'S BEEN...

THE VEHICLE STALLS WHEN PULLING FROM A STOP SIGN OR STOPLIGHT. THE VEHICLE RESTARTS WITHOUT ISSUE THEN WILL STALL AGAIN WHEN ENGAGING INTO GEAR. THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED ALSO WITH THE CAR TURNING COMPLETELY OFF. AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR RESTARTED WITHOUT ISSUE AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE OFF THE ROAD. AT A STOPLIGHT, IT STALLED AGAIN IN THE INTERSECTION. RESEARCH ONLINE SHOWS MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE SIMILAR TO MY COMPLAINT. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND I DON'T THINK I WILL DRIVE IT AGAIN.

I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT REVS UP WHILE I;M DRIVING AND THEN STOPS. I TURN IT OFF AND START IT AGAIN. IT DOES THIS CONSTANTLY. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE I'M DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, I HEAR A REVVING UP SOUND, THE CAR STARTS TO HESITATE,, IT SLOWS DOWN AND THEN COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT DOESN;T GIVE ME A CHANCE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. I HAVE TO IMMEDIATELY PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS. IT STOPS WITHOUT WARNING. ONCE I HEAR THE REVVING UP SOUND, WITHIN A FEW SECONDS SHE HESITATES, SLOWS DOWN AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. VERY, VERY DANGEROUS. THE CAR HESITATES WHEN MAKING TURNS ALSO. CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE IF YOU STOP AT A LIGHT LIKE SHE SUPPOSE TO. LET ME EXPLAIN. WHEN I'M AT A RED LIGHT AND THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS AND...
I HAVE HAD CONTINOUS TRANSMISSION SINCE I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5SL. IT WAS REPLACED IN 2015 NEW TRANSMISSION BY THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, AS RECENT AS MAY I HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES THAT RESULTED IN CVT GETTING FIXED. THEN IN JULY SIMILIAR ISSUE WHICH DEALERSHIP REPORTED THERE WAS AN UPDATE NEEDED ON MY CAR, A SELONID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER SPENDING OVER 2,000 ON MY CAR IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON AND NOT ABLE TO ACCELARATE ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS CAUSED A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE AND IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT NISSAN AND THE DEALERSHIP NEED TO ADDRESS. I AM REQUESTING REIMUBURSEMENT, EXTENSION OF WARRANTY, AND FOR MY TRANSMISSION CVT TO BE FIXED AND IF FURTHER ISSUES OCCUR NISSAN NEEDS TO COMPLY WITH FIXING IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE AND ABS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN SLOWLY TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER (UNIVERSAL NISSAN, 12785 S ORANGE BLOSSOM TRAIL, ORLANDO, FLORIDA 32837) WAS CALLED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 31323934. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
SHORTLY AFTER THE FIRST YEAR THE CAR BEGAN HESITATING AND EVENTUALLY WENT ON TO COMPLETELY CUT OFF WHILE MY FAMILY AND I WERE TRAVELING. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I DIDN'T HAVE THAT PARTICULAR PROBLEM FOR ANOTHER YEAR AFTER THE NEW TRANSMISSION. THE DEALERSHIPS WOULD ALWAYS SAY THEY COULD NOT SUPPLICATE MY CONCERN. THE PROBLEM PERSISTING. I'M AFRAID TO PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE IT STALLS, JERKS OR HESITATES. I WON'T ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT IS JUST TOO DANGEROUS. BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE PAID TAKEN IT FOR DIAGNOSIS THE PAST 6 MONTHS. I'M TAKING IT YET AGAIN TOMORROW. I CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE PATTERN. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE ONCE PAUSING AFTER A LONG DRIVE > 50 MILES. WHILE TRAVELING THIS WEEKEND, I PAUSED AT THE HIGHWAY OFF-RAMP AND IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE BEYOND 15 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON THIS TIME....
I WAS DRIVING ON A ROAD GOING APPX 35 MPH. STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, AND MY ENGINE SHUT OFF AND MY CAR DRIFTED. THE BRAKES WOULDNT EVEN WORK. MY RADIO AND LIGHTS REMAINED FUNCTIONAL. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN. THE ENGINE ONLY STAYED ON IN NEUTRAL OR PARK.
I STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SEEM TO NOT CHANGE GEARS. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE TO WHAT I CALL "RESET". THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL MONTHS LATER. NOW MY VEHICLE FROM TIME TO TIME, WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE SEEM AS IF IT WILL NOT GO WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP IN TRAFFIC. I THOUGHT IT NEED TRANSMISSION FLUID. I DISCOVERED THAT IT REQUIES CTV TRANSMISSION FLUID AND CAN ONLY BE DONE AT A DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS NOT TRUE. MY LOCAL CERTIFIED TRANSMISSION REPAIR CENTER SAID THEY COULD PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC FOR $99, WHICH WE DID. WE ARE NOW BEING TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM ON MOST OF THE NISSAN ALTIMA'S. REPLACEMENT WOULD COST...
MY ENGINE IS MAKING A RADDLING NOISE EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE THEN GOES INTO AN EVEN WORSE NOISE LIKE THERE'S SOME SORT OF CRACK IN THE CASING OR A LOOSE BOLT INSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE BREAKS SQUEAK EVERY TIME I GO INTO A STOP MOTION. I'VE MADE A APPOINTMENT BEFORE WITH CARMAX BEFORE AND THEY'VE SPENT 5 HOURS IN WHICH NONE OF THE INITIAL ISSUES THAT I DROVE TO AUSTIN FOR. AND SINCE THAT APPOINTMENT NO ONE HAS ANSWERED MY CALLS TO SET UP ANOTHER AND THE TWO MAJOR ISSUES ARE JUST GETTING WORSE.
