Coolant leak, caused engine failure
Twice now, my 2017 Mazda CX-5 stalled on the highway with a check engine light popping up--both times was driving around 60-70mph for a couple of hours and had about a quarter tank of gas left. The first time, no code was found, but the second time, after a deeper diagnostic, the dealership found a P0192 code. After reading here and many other places online, based on the code and the car's behavior, it really sounds like the Denso low-pressure fuel pump is to blame; that's the source of the recall for 2018 and 2019 Mazda CX-5s experiencing this same issue [XXX] ). If the 2017 model also uses that fuel pump, why isn't it included in the recall? If this dangerous and erratic car behavior is due to a faulty part, it really should be covered by the recall. Shame on you, Mazda. Lives are at risk. INFORMATION REDACTED...
Cx 5 2017 mazda. Purchase at the mazda dealership in 2021. Car has been burning oil. At 2000mils my oil level on the dipstick is at the lowest mark. I have to add 1gt oil to bring the mark to the correct level.
My car has been getting the P092 code with check engine light, it runs really rough, i have had many parts replaced at my expense when i know the model years 2018 and 2019 have been recalled, I am many others are having the same issues, is it going to take people dying on highways because their car just shuts off. My cat has been having the same issues reported in safety recall 19V497-6744. after googling around, I may have found an answer. Denso, who makes low pressure fuel pumps for a lot of different manufacturers, recalled several million of them a couple of years ago. They determined that there was a manufacturing defect that causes the pump impellers to crack and deform. Then they don't move enough gas to the front of the engine. I guess there is no pressure sensor between the tank and the high pressure fuel...
When I was pulling into my driveway, approx. 5-10mph with my foot barely on the accelerator, the car started accelerating on its own, almost hitting the fence. I was able to slam on the brake pedal and it stopped. It was such a hard stop, left a tire mark on the asphalt and took out some patches of my grass.
The contact owns a 2017 Mazda CX-5. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle jerked and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The dealer retrieved DTC code: P0192 with a faulty fuel pump. The contact added fuel, and the vehicle operated as designed. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
On February 14, 2023 around 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. (EST), I drove to the local WAWA. Upon entering the driveway of WAWA at a very low speed and depressing the brake the car failed to come to a complete stop. I pressed down on the brake as hard as I good, but the car did not come to a stop until hitting the security/safety bollard in front of the WAWA store. I did not get injured and no one else was injured. The front end of my car sustained over $4000 worth of damage. The insurance company repaired by car. I was asked by the insurance company what caused the front end damage. As I played the accident over and over in my head, I just could not see what I did wrong. My foot was on the brake. Also, I entered the entrance of WAWA at a very slow/low...
While driving on the interstate (continuously for about 4 hours) the vehicle suddenly lost power and the engine stalled. Power steering and power brakes were impacted and the vehicle was difficult to get off the road safely. Once stopped, it would not restart over a 30 minute period. A tow truck was called and it was taken to the dealer. A couple hours later when the dealer checked it, the vehicle started normally and drove without issue. A P0192 code was stored in the ECU so the high pressure fuel pump was replaced even though they could not reproduce the problem. The vehicle has 63000 miles on it now, but a similar sequence happened at 15000 miles. In that situation while driving at a steady speed all power cut out and the engine abruptly downshifted to the point where the tires squealed. After pulling off the road and stopping/starting the...
I have made carmax aware of the issue I was driving on the interstate in PA, when out of nowhere the check engine light turned on and the car stalled and stopped working the speedometer went down drastically almost causing me to get into a car accident, I was able to continue going slowly on the emergency lane until the car stopped it was freezing weather and there was no one in sight to help not even an emergency vehicle they told me it was an 02 sensor that they fixed it and once again I am driving and pulling into my driveway the car shut off mid drive and the brake would not work I had to pull the emergency brake i almost got into an accident I would've driven the car into my neighbor's property this 02 sensor is bad there's a bad scent and also now all...
Check engine light went on at 56mph and stalled the vehicle. Almost causing and accident all lights on dash went on and off. I stopped turn the vehicle off then on and only the check engine light went on but started stalling after accelerating again the after about 3 mile the lights and stalling happened again. This can cause a major accident
The contact owns a 2017 Mazda CX-5. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to her daughter's residence. The contact then towed the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
THE CAR STALLED WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY WITH 56 MILES LEFT IN THE GAS TANK. THIS CAUSED A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT I COULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL, AS THE TRAFFIC WAS SPEEDING PAST. I HAD TO COAST THROUGH TRAFFIC TO THE SAFETY OF THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. ONCE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP, IT WOULDN'T RESTART AND IT SEEMED AS IF IT NEVER ACTUALLY STOPPED TRYING TO RESTART. I NOTICED A FEW THINGS DURING THIS SITUATION. 1. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 2. ALL THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS APPEARED TO COME ON 3. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND HOLD BUTTON FOR CITY PARKING BRAKE WERE FLASHING AT THE CENTER COUNSEL 4. THE DASHBOARD WARNINGS ROTATED BETWEEN, CITY PARKING BRAKE, PARKING BRAKE, CRUISE SYSTEM DISABLED 5. THE BATTERY FINALLY DIED AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF THIS HAPPENING MY FAMILY AND I WERE BROUGHT...
LOSS OF POWER TO A COMPLETE SHUTDOWN WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 60-70MPH WITH FUEL TANK READING 30 MILES TO EMPTY. TOW WAS NECESSARY TO DEALERSHIP. REPLACED FUEL PUMP. 2ND OCCURRENCE WITH 60 MILES TO EMPTY. BROKE DOWN AGAIN WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TOWED A SECOND TIME TO DEALERSHIP. REPLACE HIGH/LOW FUEL PUMP. WAS INSTRUCTED NOT TO OPERATE VEHICLE BELOW 1/4 TANK OF FUEL. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH DIFFICULTY MOVING TO A SAFE AREA. SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN OR FUEL PUMP ISSUE.
WITHOUT ANY WARNING, WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED. THANKFULLY, ON BOTH OCCASIONS, I WAS ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AND PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. COINCIDENTALLY, I ALSO OWN A 2018 MAZDA CX-5 AND IN OCTOBER OF 2019, I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE (3719F, NHTSA #19V-497) FOR THE 2018 CAR. THE DESCRIPTION IN THE RECALL SOUNDS LIKE THE EXACT ISSUE I HAVE FACED WITH MY 2017 MAZDA YET THERE IS NO RECALL AS OF NOW ON MY 2017.
