Car started making a horrible knocking.. Had a rod bearing failure. Engine was completely bad. And Kia refuses to fix and or reimburse me.
Driving down a highway and my engine completely turned off. I was lucky enough to make it to the edge safely, but my car would not start. Had it towed to a Kia dealership where they told me since the reset never took place, they would not honor the recall. I’ve only had the car 3 months and was not alerted of any recalls at my last oil change.
The vehicle caught fire
While driving down interstate highway 49/71, in the southbound lane of traffic, the engine failed. The vehicle began to shudder and shake and then stalled. There was barely enough time to pull off to the side of the road before it completely stalled. The dash did not display any warning symbols or anything to make me aware of any issue. There was a shuddering noise coming from under the hood that last about 45 seconds before the engine stalled. The vehicle has been taken to two mechanics and each one testified that the engine was blown and unworkable. A vehicle that is only eight years old should not have engine failure. Kia dealerships were notified only to state that there was no recall on this specific model and make it seem like engine failure is not relevant. The vehicle is just 50,000 miles out of warranty and still contains a...
Was driving down the interstate and engine cut off suddenly. Had to coast across several lane to pull over out of traffic. This was very dangerous. Had car towed home. Engine is locked up . Called Kia dealerships near me. Closest one is not accepting any engine replacement appointments at this time and don’t know when they can. Wouldn’t even give me a future appointment. Kia lawsuit website says my vin number is covered for engine replacement but I can’t get a dealer to even look at it.
The KIA engine associated with the KIA Engine recall falls under the recall but KIA denied the claim to repair. The oil change documentation provided showed consistently with oil changes to prove no negligence. WE didn't have the complete oil change history as all of the paper receipts were no kept and the mechanic shop performing the oil change converted to a new system and therefore could not provide the documentation requested.
Faulty engine causing vehicle to consume oil rapidly and causing burning smell, as of car may catch on fire. Vehicle has been taken to several different auto mechanics that all say engine should have been a part of the recall and lawsuit should be filed. When taken to Kia dealership they are aware of the problem but refuse to do anything unless the car is listed under the recall list. This has been an ongoing issue for over a year now and there have been several gallons of oil poured into the car now.

1.Since 1/17/23 I've had 5 occurrences of the car yanking me to the left as I am turning right. The steering wheel gets stiffed, the dashboard lights come one, car slows down and I have to park the car and turn it off and back on. When I turn it back on, no dashboard lights are on and the everything is back to normal as if nothing ever happened. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership 3 times for a diagnostics and nothing comes up. The vehicles computer is not even tracing the times the dashboard lights have turned on as it shows zero history and that is not the case. I have taken pictures and video of the dashboard lights and have showed the guys at the dealership but since there's no record on the dashboard computer/history, they're not able to determine the problem. 2.My safety has been...

The engine lost power taking off crossing a major roadway, resulting in a stall, vehicle had to be restarted in a panic. The knocking and loss of power put me and my passenger in danger of a side impact from cross traffic. The issue was reproduced by a dealer upon further inspection. The vehicle will be inspected by a service department at certified dealership. No warnings lights or fault warnings appeared related to this issue.
On 3/1/23 on my way home from my which the site was in Perth Amboy, NJ. At the North Somerset rest stop, just exited the I-76 westbound. I lost power around 65 mph. I didn't get any response from my brakes at first and nothing from my accelerator. Upon drifting and praying that I'd make it to the lot out of the main exiting lane. Upon pulling into a spot at the very farthest spot from the building, I noticed my check engine light is flashing. Press my brakes were working. Accelerator was hardly responding. I've worked on my car and my families cars, and cars most of my life. I had my code reader with me. Plugged it in and got the code that I've heard and read about. P1326 knock sensor. Knowing about this about Kia and Hyuandi, I knew my engine was dead. Thank God it didn't...

lights in dashboard always on , something wrong with engine
There is an open recall on the engine of my vehicle 2015 Kia Optima. The engine is giving problems and has been at the local dealership since December 1st, 2022. They stated they will not fix it because the vehicle has a salvage title. According to the information we have obtained this doesn't null the recall repairs on the vehicle. Please advise.
At or around 66k miles my vehicle stalled then shut off in traffic. No warning or signals. My vehicle went into limp mode. KSDS Knock sensor campaign installed prior. Oil had been consuming at a abnormal rate causing me to do oil changes more frequently and in between changes adding oil. Towed it to dealership because I was told as long as I had the KSDS update and maintenance records of which I did myself because it became expensive and records show on Carfax. After dealer mechanic looked at vehicle said I needed a new engine and Kia Corporate denied my claim claiming it was neglect which is absolutely untrue! They didn't even accept my records although on Carfax. With only 66k miles and being denied my vehicle sits worthless because Kia won't honor its warranty or recall. I even purchased gap insurance originally totally lost of money. I'm afraid...
Knocking noise coming from engine. Pulley is wobbly. Oil leak coming from timing cover. Knocking noise come from Connecting rod knocking. Engine will have to be replaced or rebuilt.
after completing a routine oil change earlier in the day, the engine seized and the car had to be towed. When contacting Kia I was told their was a recall and if the knock sensor wasn't installed we are responsible. I communicated that we were unaware of a recall and were never notified of one as we are the 2nd owners of the vehicle. I later received in the mail a re-issue of what they claim to have sent out originally and was instructed to take the car to the nearest Kia dealer where they have since denied the repairs.

On December 14 2022 I had my oil changed at a service center. On December 14 2022 later in the day after the oil change service had been completed my vehicle vehicle began to sputter then stalled while driving down the road almost creating an accident. There were no warning lamps messages or other symptoms prior to stalling on the road. As the vehicle began sputtering and stalling the warning lamps then became illuminated. I coasted my vehicle to safety and parked it. I scheduled the first available appointment with a Kia dealership and had it towed in. They did an inspection completed a recall and said I needed a whole new engine and only the short block was covered. I have service records for regular maintenance. Anti Theft Security system is non-existent. There is a current known issue on the internet on the ease of theft of any Kia or Hyundai to certain years of manufacture. I am currently a single disabled person that could be a victim of vehicle theft because of a lack of this security software that Kia did not include on my 2015 vehicle. This Kia/Hyundai known issue could potentially leave anyone stranded in a dangerous situation. All other prior and current vehicles are equipped with the security software. Currently Kia & Hyundai has provided Lock bars for certain police departments to hand out, however .. not in my area. I am receiving warning letters from my Insurance company and have heard of some totally dropping coverages on all vehicles manufactured without the security software. This is a very dangerous situation and I believe that ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED SHOULD BE ISSUED AN...
While driving the vehicle on Tuesday 1/17/23 giving it gas, the engine stopped running. I was going about 45 mph when the engine stopped, multiple lights on the dash turned on including the engine light, oil light, and battery light. I had to coast the car to the side of a 3 lane road. I turned off the car, waited a few moments and tried to turn the car on. The lights went on but the engine did not start. I had the car towed to an auto shop who then advised I should have it taken to a Kia dealer as there is a recall on the vehicle. The dealer has had the car for a week and has only said that the engine is seized and that they can not provide more information without me paying to have the engine taken apart.

Engine seized on the car and I was denied recall repair. I spoke with corporate for Kia and they basically did nothing to help at all. They basically said they sent a letter for an update and because I did not perform the update they will not honor the recall that was approved on my car. The person I spoke with advised the address was never updated so the letter did not come to me for the recall or was lost. He stated I was supposed to contact Kia with update to address. I never was aware this had to be done and I have purchased many cars and never was made aware. He stated why would you purchase a big purchase and not do this. I was under the impression when I purchased this would be done that’s why I am charged tax license and other fees. I believe...
My vehicle is in the class action lawsuit against KIA for faulty engine blocks that could cause fire and engine failure. My vehicle oil consumption is way below standard and the excess burning oil is coming inside my engine on top . I see smoke and I smell burning oil on my engine while I’m driving and when I stop. I have well kept my cars maintenance and this is now starting to happen after 120k miles. I reported the issue to Kia but they told me that the engine has to lock up before they can either consider replacing it. I’m really afraid to drive this car because of my life and the life of others if I get a fire or engine failure in busy traffic. It just doesn’t seem safe to drive although there’s no check engine lights on yet, but I can sense warnings before destruction....
I was driving down the highway and veered onto a secondary road when the engine shut off. No prior warning was given and the check engine light was not on. I was forced to stop the vehicle; there was no shoulder to pull onto, so I ended up blocking a lane of traffic. The engine seized and must be replaced, or the car will have to be scrapped.
On the behalf of my daughter I am filing this formal complaint: * On August 10, 2022 my daughter was driving home from Des Moines to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was on the highway and all of the sudden her car engine shut down, no warning lights came on prior to this happening. She did not have power steering, it took all she had to pull the car over safely, she was able to use the brakes but barely. She then tried to restart the vehicle, it was able to restart with no other problems along the way. This incident happened at 2am, had this occured earlier in the day, with heavy traffic the safety of my daughter and others would have been at a high risk, this could have caused a major accident. * On October 9, 2022 My daughter was just exiting the interstate, warning light appeared. She...
My vehicle engine blew while driving on the highway going about 65 no warning or signs other then the amount of oil that it was consuming. I am just now hearing about the class action lawsuits for my specific engine the Theta 2.0 which I have already verified it is part of it. KIA is saying it's the wrong part of the engine that is blown that it want be qualify for the engine replacement. I have kept my oil changed regularly and just recently noticed it started to consume godly amounts of oil no leak, or smell it was literally disappearing it is not normal to add almost 4qts of oil every 2 weeks or so. These engines need to be recalled not placed on a "service bulletin" and they pick and choose which to fix. Point is they are ticking time bombs and something need to be done...
Daughter driving her 2015 kia optima she purchased May 2022 and currently has 95,000 miles on it and it started making a weird noise coming from the engine. We got the car home and then took to repair shop due to the car running rough and making a ticking noise. Repair shop calls and says they drove it a short distant down the road and the motor mad a loud noise and then stalled . Car will not start and repair shop said she will need a new motor. Called Kia and they stated it was covered because years before her purchasing it from a reputable dealer ,the previous owner did not do the product improvement update.

The vehicle was emitting a fuel odor and had a burning odor as if the vehicle was overheating. The driver’s and passenger’s side side-view mirrors would close while driving at various speeds. The Push to Start button had to be pressed several times to start the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who stated that the fuel odor was due to a hole in the fuel line hose. The passenger’s side side-view mirror had been replaced. The failure reoccurred.
