After a period of 10 minutes in stop-and-go traffic, a shift warning light indicated on the warning panel. All the lights for the gear shift lever would light up individually. The vehicle turned off the stability control system and indicated a warning to proceed driving however the vehicle may not be able to shift into park. After about 3 miles of driving, it felt like the power steering stopped working and it was extremely difficult to control and turn the vehicle. It also felt like the vehicle would not shift properly. Once the vehicle was to the side of the road, it indicated that the vehicle was not in park despite moving the gear shift lever to park. The vehicle would not turn off of accessory mode. Had whatever happened to the power steering happened at any higher rate of speed, the vehicle would have been impossible to control in...

I discovered this safety recall Nov. 2023. The recall was opened 2/2023. I found an article in Car and Driver from 2/2021 that described this issue. Jeep leased me this vehicle even though the defect was already known. I am 3 years into a 4 year lease. Because of this inactivity is solving this recall (and a bad case of "Death Wobbles) I want to terminate this lease without penalty. I just want to get rid of this unsafe vehicle.

Driving down a freeway at 65+ mph, I was changing gears from 4th gear into 5th gear. As I was changing gears the blew the clutch. I couldn't get it to any gear at all. I could barely stop and get over in traffic. The clutch was doing a few odd things in the preview couple days before it went bad. I was head to get gas then to the dealership when that issue happened. There was no warning lights at all. The jeep only had 3,600 miles on it. It was a 2021 jeep unlimited rubicon The safely of me and others was at risk. The jeep could have caught on fire or blew up. It was scary! The jeep is currently at a certified jeep dealer. Unable to get parts to fix it.

Was informed of this recall back in November of 2023. It is approximately 3 months later, and the dealership has heard nothing from Stellantis about how to repair this recall. I also have heard nothing from Stellantis. In the mean time, I cannot fully use the vehicle in the manner it was made, which is why I made the purchase.

Recall (B9A) has been out since November of 2023. The recall states "An internally failed HV battery could lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage." As of today, no 'remedy' is available. In the mean time, can't charge the car. Driving the car would seem to be 'unwise' as the risk seems to be with the 'ignition on or off'. Can't park the car in my garage. Can't drive it to work as my employer doesn't want the liability should an issue arise. Been waiting patiently for a remedy - so far nothing but static.

I received a notification in March 2023 that there was a recall on my vehicle concerning a faulty clutch plate. The issue still hasn’t been addressed and I’m concerned about driving it due to the number of incidents that have occurred.

The car and steering column start vibrating very aggressively and it is difficult to control the vehicle. It has happened 4-5 times since purchasing the vehicle in September. Sometimes it occurs after hitting a bump or pothole, but not always. Something is very wrong and it seems dangerous.

I was driving about 68 mph on the highway in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and experienced what is commonly known as the "death wobble." My steering wheel shook with such force that my Jeep veered into the right lane next to me that was thankfully empty. I thought my front wheels were going to come right off of the axle, so I pulled over and removed my children from my car from fear of what else the Jeep was going to do next.

There has been a recall on my Jeep since February 2023 for the clutch plate and possible fire. The maker of this vechile has yet to be able to find a fix for this issue. My transmission is now making a clunking noise occasionally.

My 2021 4XE Wrangler Rubicon has already had the Loss of Motive Power Recall performed a year ago. Jeep stated that the recall software update would prevent this incident. It is not corrected!!! Yesterday, while traveling on I-70 near Virginia at about 70 mph (the speed limit), the Jeep displayed a Jeep Vehicle with the PHEV High Voltage Cables and Battery Pack Diagram drawn over the Jeep in Bright Red color. No codes happened at all when this appeared (no Check Engine Light, no service indicators, nothing). Some words quickly flashed on the dash display stating something like, "Loss of Performance" and the engine shutdown completely and the "D" next to shifter binked yellow continuously afterwards. The dash then stated to Shift Vehicle into Park to Restart (while still coasting at nearly 70 mph). I managed to coast it to the emergency lane, stop the Jeep, shift into park and...

While driving the "Service Shifter" warning appeared in the center cluster notification area repeatedly. There was reduced vehicle performance and a continuous chime alert from the vehicle. Turned the vehicle off, waited several minutes and then turned the vehicle back on and the "Service Shifter" warning appeared again with the continuous chime audio alert.

My rear locker is trying to lock while driving in 2H causing the light to flash constantly. Now due to that occurring the service locker is on this is a known issue and needs to become a recall as most Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators have this same issue

When coming to a stop and electric power is depleted, the vehicle will engage the gas engine and accelerate through a brake. I have to fight the vehicle to come to a complete stop because the engine is pulling me forward through the brake. Due to the unpredictability of the braking system, I must leave a greater stopping distance than required and have almost been in accidents. CAUSE UNKNOWN. I believe the powertrain, engine, and braking systems are involved. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership shop several times for this problem, and one software update was offered to try to fix the issue, but the issue is ongoing. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

Issue 1--Open recall since 2/23/2023 with no remedy available (over 5 months) From manufacturer: In some circumstances, the clutch pressure plate may become overheated through friction, which may lead the pressure plate to rapidly fracture. When a pressure plate fractures, it may result in cracks or holes in the transmission case, allowing heated debris to be expelled from the transmission case. Safety Risk Heated debris expelled from the transmission bellhousing may come in contact with an ignition source in the vehicle or surrounding area, potentially leading to a fire. A fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Issue 2--Technical Service Bulletin (TSB 31-002020) dated 10/27/2020 related to rust. This issue was reported to my dealer May 2023 and over 60 days later, the burden is on me to take to a body shop for an estimate to be covered under warranty....

driving 75 down interstate and the vehicle just lost all power yet everything was "on" like normal and no check engine light- nothing. Would not allow me to accelerate or go over 45mph. It is like it would not shift gears. I stopped twice and turned the vehicle off but it did the same thing. Took it to the dealer and on day 2 (6 days later from initial incident) of them driving it, it did same with them but would not allow them to travel over 30 mph. They state it is not showing any codes and they don't know what is wrong. This is very dangerous while on a busy highway and going 75 to all the sudden lose power to your vehicle with no control and it quickly deaccelerates to 45pmh! I almost got hit multiple times as most people were driving 80mph plus! My vehicle is...

Jeep clutch started slipping. Startig smelling a burning smell. Took it to the dealership. Service tech took it down the road to see for himself. While he was driving it he noticed debris on the road in the rearview and realized it was coming from the jeep. He pulled over and the hood was red hot. The jeep then caught on fire and burnt up! Total loss. The jeep only had 28000 miles on it and still under warranty.

CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE DISINTERGRATED CAUSING VEHICLE TO CATCH FIRE AND BURN COMPLETELY TO THE GROUND.. WHEN CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE FAILED, ENGINE SHUT OFF, LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP IN AN UNPOPULATED AREA... NO WARNING LAMPS CAME ON UNTIL THE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE, MESSAGE SIMPLY SAID "CLUTCH"...

Car shut down in the middle of the highway at around 30 mph. While using the adaptive cruise control, i stepped on the gas to accelerate. The car then shut down and many warning lights came on. The car did not respond to restarting, shifting or anything. Screen just said charge fault error.

After picking up the jeep from the dealership (brand new), we drove to mass from NY. On the second day of ownership, we drove car to store. When i returned to the car to drive home, it would not start and just said charging error with many warning lights. Car had to be towed to the nearest jeep dealer. Car only had 200 miles on it.

Vehicle has fluttered off and on for 2 months. Drove on the highway yesterday and the fluttering progressively got worse. It began to lose power and a Service Electronic Throttle Control light came on. I pulled off the side of the road, turned it off and back on. I went 45 mph with hazard lights to the nearest exit. It continued to flutter and the light reappeared. I’ve called many jeep dealerships before this as well as now and they all say there is nothing they can do due to no solution/remedy. I don’t feel safe driving my Jeep back home 3.5 hrs so I have to borrow a family member’s vehicle while my Jeep sits at a dealership until there is something they can do.

When driving on the highway any bump in the road triggers the vehicle to shake uncontrollably. (front end and steering wheel) Problem does not correct itself until I have to get into the emergency lane and fully stop. I feel this is not safe nor something normal. This happens quite often. Too often. Every time I drive. Dealership states that this may be "damper shock" not covered by warranty. Any information online that I can find states that this is a common defect in Jeep Wranglers making them unsafe for highway driving if the part is defective.
#11510137 | Crash
Beginning in January 2023 with approximately 20,000 miles our leased 2021 Jeep Wrangler began to shake uncontrollably while driving on the highway at speeds over 60 mph. The shaking was so significant that while trying to safely guide the car off the highway my husband was shaken into the guardrail causing damage to the right front bumper. We are horrified that Jeep has had this problem for so long and there's NO public notification of the problem.

I was notified of recall ZB7 affecting my 2021 JEEP Wrangler 4xE by phone on February 3, 2023. During this call I made an appointment with JEEP for the issue to be fixed on February 24, 2023. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, two days before my scheduled appointment, the engine of my Jeep failed ~6PM while I was driving on highway 495S near Merrimac, MA (mile 114.8). I was in the far left lane traveling at about 70 mph and lost all power steering, power brakes, everything. The engine completely lost power without warning. No messages, warning lights or other signs of any issue before a total loss of power. Thankfully, I was able to drift from the left lane, crossing 2 lanes of traffic on a busy highway, to reach the shoulder on the other side of the highway. I did this in the dark without without power brakes...

Driving on the highway and hit a bump, Jeep started violently shaking/vibrating (Death Wobble), almost lost control with cars on both sides of my Jeep. The vibration after hitting a bump has happen several times the past two months. Jeep dealership states, vehicle needs a new steering damper/stabilizer. The part is on back order, dealerships can only order so many per week due to the demand/problem with Jeeps. It could take 2-3 months to be fixed and vehicle can not be driven. This also happened with my 2018 Jeep Wrangler.

Vehicles tires and steering wheel begins to shake violently at speeds in the 50+ mph range on the highway. Condition occurs after hitting a small bump on the highway. The condition becomes so violent, I have to slow the vehicle from 60+ mph to about 40 mph to stop the shaking. I have taken it in and they replaced the steering dampener and it did not resolve the issue at all.

my jeep moves forward by itself when the transmission is in neutral. took to dealer to be checked twice. they put the car on the lift shifted it into neutral and the back tires started spinning. they took mine out went and got a brand new jeep and put it on the lift started and put in neutral. same thing happened back wheels started spinning. while i know about this problem and can hopefully avoid any problems. what about the person who does not know. puts their vehicle in neutral and runs someone over. there are no lights or warnings.dealer is dragging their feet. this has been going on since last september i believe.searched jeep creep in neutral on google and there are other cases. i just wonder how many people have this problem and do not know. i just hope this gets fixed before someone gets run over.

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe died while driving down the road. Luckily I was able to coast to the side and cycle the engine off/on in order to regain power. This was the exact same issue that is described in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V865000, however, this time (2/3/23) was after the ZB7 recall was completed. Even after the recall work was completed and Jeep told me the vehicle was safe to drive, it still failed in the exact same manner. The recall procedure did not work and this vehicle is not safe to drive. Additionally, during the period after the recall was completed and before it died again while driving, the battery range has decreased dramatically (less than 50% of what it was prior to the recall work).

The vehicle's engine will randomly shut off and not turn back on. It has been to dealerships over 10 times for the same issue. They all attribute it to the start/stop battery, but it happens even when that feature is turned off. The vehicle's engine will shut off while driving and you cannot shift it into park. The only warning is a check engine light and "service auto start/stop system". There is no warning before the vehicle does it, and I have broken down in intersections, highways, and other dangerous locations. The vehicle duplicated the issue on the dealers lot, but they claim " no codes, no repair".

Recently had recall performed for loss of motive power. Now when shifting between gears, it is often firm or jerky and has vibrating/shuddering during acceleration.
#11504403 |
The car has been shutting down since its inception. It's gone to the dealership over 4 times. From the loss of power to the complete shutdown during the highway at 65/70 mph with my kids inside. This vehicle is not safe to drive at all. It took the fun out of moving and owning a Jeep. The 4xe is a disaster in the making. Even after the dealership looks into the car over four times, they fixed, patched, software updates, and issues keep happening, which shows that they don't have an answer to this vehicle. The car lasted the last time it went in, over a month in the dealership. If you can't go Electric, don't do it. This car is an issue for families. Highly don't recommend it. It only has 15,980 miles! Brand new car, and it's been more in the dealership than any car I've owned in...

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle also jerked while driving. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 7,000.

While stopped at a light on a busy highway I heard a loud sound similar to the automatic emergency braking system engaging. When the light changed the vehicle would not move. I tried turning it off and then back on again with no luck. The dash displayed the message "service charging system" and then ultimately illuminated an icon for the 12V battery and the charging system. I wound up having the vehicle towed to a local dealer where it currently remains waiting to be repaired. My biggest fear here is that there was no way to move the vehicle, some type of limp mode would be a much better solution so at least I could have moved out of traffic.

The incident occurred when I attempted to shift the transfer case into 4-Low. The sequence of events is as follows: 1. I stopped the vehicle and shifted into Park. 2. With my foot on the brake, I shifted into neutral and attempted to move the transfer case lever from 4-High, to 4-Low. 3. As I started to move the transfer case lever, a warning appeared in the instrument cluster stating, "Vehicle speed too high to shift". 4. Auto-Park engaged 5. The engine, uncommanded, with my foot still on the brake, began to increase in revs slowly. 6. Check engine light illuminated, the engine continues to increase in revs. 7. When the engine reached 6-7k RPM, I hit the engine start/stop button and held it down until the engine turned off. The engine was still climbing in revs until this point. 8. I restarted the engine and could shift into 4-Low...
