AFTER REPLACEMENT I LOOKED UP PART NUMBER USED AND IT WAS AN EARLIER REVISION THAN WHAT SHOULD HAVE USED. JEEP WAS REPAIRED ON 2/10/17, ON 2/18/17 JEEP WAS AGAIN LEAKING OIL FROM TOP OF ENGINE.

THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING HAS COOLANT RESIDUE ON IT AND IS CRACKED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE JEEPS. THIS PART IS NOT A PART THAT CAN BE BROKEN THE ONLY REASON SOMETHING GOES WRONG WITH IT IS THAT IT IS DEFECTED. MOPAR SHOULD BE REPLACING THESE PARTS.

ON 12/04/2016 I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT AROUND 80MPH WHEN A LOAD EXPLOSION STOPPED MY ENGINE. I IMMEDIATE STOPPED AS SMOKE STARTED TO COME INSIDE THE CABIN. OBSERVED OIL LEAKING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK ON THE TOP PART OF THE ENGINE AROUND THE OIL FILTER.
