I HAVE A 2014 WRANGLER JK WITH 10,900 MILES AND I HAVE A 5 MILE DRIVE TO WORK. TWO DAYS AGO, JANUARY 14, 2015 AS I EXITED THE VEHICLE, I SMELL BURNT OIL. I LIFTED THE HOOD, I DON'T SEE ANYTHING LIKE OIL. I LOOKED UNDERNEATH FOR A DRIP OR PUDDLE, BUT I SAW NOTHING. AS I LEFT WORK LATER THAT AFTERNOON, I LOOKED UNDER THE JEEP AND THERE APPEARED TO BE A SLIGHT PUDDLE OF LEAKING OIL. I DROVE 5 MILES HOME. AFTER I GOT THERE, I OBSERVED A GOOD SIZED OIL PUDDLE ON THE DRIVEWAY MIDWAY UNDER JEEP WITH SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST! I STARTED JEEP, THE RADIO CHANNEL MYSTERIOUSLY CHANGED, DROVE APPROX 1 MILE, CAME TO A STOP LIGHT AT A BUSY MOUNTAIN INTERSECTION AND THE ENTIRE JEEP BLACKED OUT, I LOST ALL FUNCTIONS, WE WERE ALMOST REAR ENDED AND T BONED AT THE SAME TIME, RETURNED THE JEEP TO PARK AND RESTARTED. I TOOK THE JEEP TO DEALER THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T RECREATE PROBLEM, I DROVE JEEP OFF THE PROPERTY ONLY TO HAVE IT DIE AT THE FIRST TRAFFIC LIGHT, PUT INTO PARK RESTARTED ONLY TO HAVE IT DIE AGAIN. FINALLY MADE IT BACK TO JEEP, THEY'VE HAD IT FOR A WEEK AND THEY CLAIM THEY STILL CANT FIND THE PROBLEM. JEEP COMPLETELY DIED (LOST ALL POWER, INCLUDING ALL ELECTRICAL, BRAKE LIGHTS, PANEL LIGHTS, ETC) IN CONDO PARKING LOT. GOT OUT TO START PUSHING IT BACK TO PARKING SPOT, AND A FEW SECONDS LATER THE DOOR CHIME STARTED AND POWER WAS RESTORED. RADIO WAS BOOTING UP FROM COLD START (SHOWING GARMIN LOGO). RESTARTED CAR, IT TURNED OVER AND STARTED NORMALLY. STARTED DRIVING FORWARD AGAIN, AND IN ABOUT 20 FEET, IT COMPLETELY DIED AGAIN IN THE SAME WAY, AND CAME BACK TO LIFE ABOUT TEN SECONDS LATER. DECIDED IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART AGAIN AND REVERSE TO PARKING SPOT. JEEP WAS TOWED ON NOVEMBER 3 AND REPAIRED ON NOVEMBER 4 WHEN THE PART CAME IN. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS PULLING OUT OF A RED LIGHT AND IT SEEMED THE JEEP WOULDN'T SHIFT GEARS, THE RPMS REVVED UP AND IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT KEEPING UP WITH THE RPMS. THIS CONTINUED FOR A COUPLE SECONDS AND I PULLED TO THE BIRM OF THE ROAD AND PUT THE JEEP IN NEUTRAL. I THEN PROCEEDED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND PULLED OUT. OBSERVED OIL UNDER THE VEHICLE. SUSPECTED THAT THE OIL COOLER WAS LEAKING BASED UPON OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. OBSERVED A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL IN THE VALLEY OF ENGINE AT THE OIL COOLER. ALL THIS WAS OBSERVED AFTER THE SECOND OIL CHANGE (DEALER). PARTS MANAGER AT DEALER STATED THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM ON THE 2014 MODELS WITH THE 3.2 AND 3.6 ENGINE. DEPENDING HOW LARGE THE CRACK IS ON THE COOLER THIS COULD CAUSE ALL THE OIL TO BE EVACUATED FROM THE ENGINE CAUSING A FIRE WITH THE HOT EXHAUST OR SEIZING THE ENGINE CAUSING A CRASH. I TOOK IT TO BIG O TIRE TO HAVE THE BALL JOINTS REPLACED AS I KNEW THAT SINCE I HAVE OVER SIZE TIRES AND A LIFT KIT THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE BEEN SMELLING OIL FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, AND CHECKED IT WHEN I LEFT WINSLOW AZ. TO GO HOME TO KINGMAN AZ. AND IT WAS JUST A BIT LOW. SPEED LIMIT IN THIS AREA IS 55. I CAME UPON A FARM TRUCK WHO WAS TRAVELING AT APPROX. 45-50 MPH. WHEN CONDITIONS WERE SAFE, I PULLED INTO THE ONCOMING LANE AND PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE VERY HARD TO PASS THE FARM VEHICLE IN A SAFE DISTANCE. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ON BUT WAS CURRENTLY NOT IN USE. AS I WAS ALMOST AROUND THE FARM VEHICLE I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AT FULL THROTTLE.
