I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty and while DRIVING AND MAKING TURNS, THE STEERING WHEEL MADE A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. THE NOISE WAS ALSO HEARD WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. I got woke up this morning with the alarm going off.. no one was around the Jeep.. I know this because I have security cameras.. my husband check the fuse box and inside they were water in the fuse box..which it rain last night and I don’t know how it is getting wet.. my lights are wanted to stay on. And when I turn the ignition off my Jeep off wants to continue running.. I have had it to several different mechanics and no one seems to know exactly what the problem is.. please help me fix this problem..

NOT SURE WHEN LOCKS STOPPED ONLY DRIVERS DOOR LOCKS WITH FOB. MAIN PROBLEM DRIVERS REAR BLINKER-STOP LIGHT NOT WORKING REPLACED BULBS AND NOTHING. WHOLE UNIT DOESN'T WORK.
THIS CAR HAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT NO-ONE CAN FIGURE IT OUT. IT KEEPS GIVING US ALL THESE ERROR CODES: P0430, P2305, P2311, P2317 AND P0430. WE HAD REPLACED ALL THE SPARKPLUGS, THE ELECTRIC COILS, BATTERY, STARTER, THE COMPUTER (PCM), IGNITION SWITCH, THE 02 SENSOR AND STILL THE CAR WILL NOT STAY ON AND SHAKES WHILE IS RUNNING.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK AND REAR VIEW MIRROR CONTROL DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. SEEMS TO BE THE WIRING THAT GOES THRU THE DOOR INTO THE BODY. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. NOT POSSIBLE TO GET A PHOTO DUE TO THE COVERING OF THE WIRES CANNOT BE OPENED.
BOTH REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE WINDOW KEEP FAILING, THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY KEEPS GOING UP AND I HAD TO REPLACE THEM TWICE
THE STEERING GEAR IS COMING APART AND IS SLIPPING WHICH CAUSES IT TO FEEL LIKE YOU'RE DRIVING SIDEWAYS DOWN THE ROAD. THE WINDOWS WILL NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT MAKING A HORRIBLE NOISE AND THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. AFTER DRIVING THE JEEP IT SMELLS LIKE ITS BEEN ON FIRE.
JEEP WAS SHUT OFF AND IN PARK IN PARKING LOT WHEN FLAMES WERE SEEN COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. BY THE TIME THE FIRE DEPT. ARRIVED, THE FIRE HAD STARTED TO BREACH THE FIREWALL IN THE FRONT OF THE JEEP.

THE CONTACT HAD TO TEMPORARILY WEDGE EACH OF THE FOUR WINDOWS TO ENSURE THAT THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO INDICATED THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY CAMPAIGN EXPIRED AND THERE WAS NO RECALL TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO HAVE A DEALER REPAIR THE VEHICLE. I PURCHASED MY 2004 JEEP LIBERTY IN 2009 WITH 16K MILES ON IT. IN 2010 I HAD TO HAVE THE PASSENGER'S SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACED AT $200. IN 2011 THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW HAD THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NOW THE REPAIR WAS QUOTED AT BEING AT LEAST $400. IN LATE 2016 THE BACK PASSENGER WINDOW DID THE SAME THING. THIS WEEK MARCH 2017 THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WINDOW HAS DONE THE SAME THING AND NO LONGER STAYS UP. ALL OF THESE HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING EITHER ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY WHILE MOVING.

WHILE DRIVING TO WORK MY ENGINE JUST QUIT AS I WAS SHIFTING FROM 4TH TO 5TH GEAR. I COASTED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. AUGUST 1, 2015 THE LEFT REAR PASSENGER WINDOW DROPPED AND THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. IN THE SAME MONTH MY JEEP STARTED TO SLIGHTLY FISHTAIL AS IF DRIVING IN VERY STRONG/ HIGH WINDS. LASTLY ON NOVEMBER 28, 2015 THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SIGN IS SHOWING " PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" WHEN IT WAS NEVER A ILLUMINATED BEFORE.

ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2015, I WAS ON MY WAY TO A WORKSHOP FOR MY JOB ON ROUTE 73 IN BERLIN, NEW JERSEY. I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PROCEEDED TO GO. REAR DRIVER SIDE PASSENGER WINDOW LITERALLY FELL INTO THE DOOR FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE WINDOW NOW HAS TO BE TAPED UP CONTINUOUSLY AND THE WINDOW FALLING DOWN CAN BE A HAZARD AND DANGEROUS OF KIDS IN THE BACK. NOT TO MENTION THIS IS A VERY LARGE AND COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. THE WINDOW MOTOR REGULATORS FAIL EXTREMELY OFTEN--ON AVERAGE, ONE FAILS EVERY 6 MONTHS. THIS SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING, AND THE WINDOW CRASHES DOWN INTO THE DOOR. IT IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING TO HEAR THE WINDOW FALL WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING, THE SUDDEN THUD COULD DISTRACT THE DRIVER ENOUGH TO CAUSE A CRASH, AND ANY CHILDREN OR PETS IN THE CAR ARE NOT ONLY EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS, BUT ARE AT RISK OF FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE. OTHER TIMES, THE WINDOW FALLS WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED AND THE CAR IS OPEN FOR THE WORLD TO ENTER. I HAVE SPENT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON WINDOW MOTOR REGULATORS FOR THIS VEHICLE. I PURCHASED IT USED IN FEBRUARY 2009, THE FIRST WINDOW MOTOR REGULATOR FAILED LESS THAN 90 DAYS LATER AND ONE HAS FAILED EVERY 6 MONTHS SINCE. FOR OVER TWO YEARS, MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE FLICKERED. SEVERAL INSTANCES ARE RAPID FIRE, A FEW HAVE BEEN FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. A RELAY TYPE SOUND WILL INDICATE THAT IT IS CLICKING OFF AND ON AS WELL. NO INTERIOR LIGHTS ARE EFFECTED. I DO NOT DRIVE MY JEEP AT NIGHT, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. IF I DO, I TRAVEL AS CLOSE TO A TRACTOR TRAILER, AS I CAN SAFELY GET. DRIVER SIDE BACK LEFT WINDOW REGULATOR HAS FAILED TWICE. FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE JEEP LIBERTY. *TR
AS I PRESS THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON MY REMOTE THE DOOR REMAINS LOCKED. I NEEDED TO HAVE THE DOOR OPENED TO CHANGE THE TAILLIGHTS, BUT THE DOOR COULDN'T OPEN SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SINCE I ONLY OWNED THE TRUCK FOR A YEAR.THEY SAID IT WOULD COST ME ABOUT $200.00 TO OPEN THE DOOR AND CHANGE THE BULB, . BECAUSE THE DOOR ACTUATOR WAS BUSTED.I COULDN'T AFFORD THAT BECAUSE THE BULB ONLY COST ME $5.99. I ONLY WANTED THE DOOR OPEN TO CHANGE THE TAILLIGHT MYSELF.WELL I RETURNED HOME ONLY TO TELL MY NEIGHBOR THE PROBLEM, HE TOOK OFF THE PANEL AND UN LOCKED THE DOOR CHANGED THE BULB IN 10 MINUTES AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM IS THE PLASTIC HINGE NOT THE ACTUATOR , HE RIGGED A STRING SO THAT I CAN UNLOCK THE DOOR UNTIL I CAN FIND THE PART, BUT NO ONE SELLS THE PART.IT...
I HAD BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM AROUND THREE WEEKS AGO, AT HOT WEATHER I TURN THE A\C ON, AND AFTER 10 MINUTES THE ENGINE STARTS REHEATING, I ALREADY TAKE IT TO THE CHRYSLER JEEP DEALER, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENS THAT EVERYTHING IS OK, MY HUSBAND EVEN SCAN THE CAR AND HE GOT THE PO480, AND THEY SAID THAT NO EVERYTHING IS OK, I TOLD THEM THE SITUATION THAT IM WORRY ABOUT THE REHEATING CAUSE THREE DAYS AGO I HAS AT THE I95 AT 65 MPH, AND IT STARS REHEATING VERY FAST, I JUST PULL OVER THE CAR , BUT IT CAN START A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD OR SOMETHING I SAW A LOT OF SMOKE, I TOLD THEM, AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING THAT EVERYTHING IS OK. WE HAVE HAD REPEATED FAILURES ON ALL OF OUR WINDOW REGULATORS SINCE WE PURCHASED OUR JEEP. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS IN 2006. I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OUR REPAIR FILE TO GET THE OTHER DATES. WE CURRENTLY HAVE ANOTHER WINDOW OUT, IT IS TAPED UP TO KEEP THINGS OUT. THIS IS THE WINDOW IN THE BACK BEHIND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. THE REPLACEMENTS DON'T EVEN HOLD UP. WE ARE SENIOR CITIZENS. NO ONE "PLAYS" WITH THE WINDOWS. WE USE OUR AC SO WINDOWS ARE NOT OPENED AND CLOSED. THEY JUST FALL DOWN ON THEIR OWN. JUNE 13, 2013, THIRD WINDOW REGULATOR TO FAIL WITHIN ONE YEAR ON MY JEEP LIBERTY. FAILED WINDOW REGULATORS ARE FRONT LEFT AND RIGHT WINDOWS, AND LEFT REAR WINDOW. VERY FRUSTRATED AND DISAPPOINTED WITH CHRYSLER AND HOW THEY ARE HANDLING A KNOWN ISSUE. AFTER SPEAKING WITH SEVERAL EMPLOYEES AND MANAGER AT THE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. HEADLIGHTS WILL TURN OFF WITHOUT WARNING AT VARIOUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING. INTERIOR LIGHTS REMAIN ON. LIGHTS MAY FLASH ON AND OFF UP TO 4 TIMES WITHIN A FEW SECONDS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 JEEP LIBERTY RENEGADE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETERS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT DUE TO THE BCM MODULAR BURNING OUT THE SPEED SENSOR, THE SPEED SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
