In November 2024, I went to get into my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (17,000 miles). At that time, numerous lights started flashing on the vehicle dash (start-stop, stability control and check engine). I took the vehical to the nearest Jeep dealership, Valor Ford in Junction City. They indicated this was a known issue but unresolved by Jeep (received recall notice two weeks later). I was leaving for vacation and would be back in two weeks, rather than leave the car sit at the dealership I offered to take it home and bring it back when I returned. I was told by the technician that was not advisable because my brakes could go out. I of course decided to leave at the dealership. Upon return, they indicated my jeep could be picked up. My husband spoke with the technician because we had received the recall notice by then and asked how they...

My ESC, ABS, and check engine lights have been on for months due to this recall that has no fix.

I am reporting a serious safety failure related to the ABS/ESC recall on my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Parts have not been available for over a year, and my vehicle has now experienced the dangerous conditions described in the recall. Before the failure, while stopped at a red light in Drive with my foot firmly on the brake, the vehicle suddenly rolled backward on its own. I had to forcefully press the brake to stop it. This should never happen and indicates brake system failure. About 10 minutes later, while driving on the highway, the vehicle experienced a sudden safety system failure. Multiple warning lights came on (ABS, ESC, brake system, check engine), the accelerator pedal became unresponsive, a burning smell came from the vehicle, and I temporarily lost control. I could not pull over immediately due to traffic, which created a very dangerous situation. The vehicle eventually became undriveable...

The car gets started, message pops up saying to safely put the vehicle into park it will shut off soon. It then starts shaking, will not allow you to shift gears, revs up still shaking, it then shuts off and all of the dash panels messages are popping up, ABS, a message to service the air suspension, engine light, car not in park (can't shift it) (we have put tire chucks to hopefully keep it from moving), etc are flashing as well as the interior lights, exterior lights flashing. The only way to get all of the lights to stop flashing is to unhook the brand new auxiliary battery. Mechanic has scanned for codes, more than 60 appear. Once we are able to reattach the battery, we were able to start it, put it into gear before all of the messages and lights started going off again.

Recall 94B has been outstanding for a year now. I feel this is an unreasonable amount of time.

Uconnect® 4C w/NAV with 8.4–Inch Display is delaminating. This is known to be a common problem with this vehicle. The touchscreen provides direct access to settings that affect the way the vehicle physically brakes and steers, all are configured via the Uconnect system, and that system with a defective screen can cause those settings to change without the knowledge of the user, introducing a safety issue.
#11690707 |
ABS is staying on. There is a recall that has not yet been resolved.
#11688295 |
The screen is delaminating which impacts the following safety measures: SOS feature, use of cellphone for 911 emergencies, and navigation. The delimitation appeared a few months ago and has progressed.

Vehicle will all suddenly while driving on the roads with speed, dash will blink and start saying to select the gear. At this point vehicle either has to be put in parking (while trying to figure out where to pull over) and reselect the gear, or completely shut off, re start and select gear in order to drive. When the dash blinks vehicle accelerator just revs the engine, loss of power occurs. This especially happens after a fuel up and you move away from gas station.

The unit has been taken to Chrysler dealers in Puerto Rico three times. On each visit, we were charged $120.00 for a total of $360.00 for the computer scan. We were charged for an electrical module, part no. 68442478AB, worth $406.59. The situation has not been resolved. The vehicle has abnormalities in the braking system, which consequently affects other functions and even drains the batteries. I would like to sell the unit, but it is not resalable due to the unresolved recall. I need Chrysler to offer me options such as a refund or another unit without defects.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact received a recall notification in November of 2024 for NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated continuously. The ABS warning light illuminated, and other unknown warning lights were illuminated. While at a stoplight, the vehicle turned off and restarted. The local dealer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who informed the contact that the recall repair would be available soon. The failure mileage was approximately 20,337.

While my wife was driving her Jeep, everything seemed to fail. All the gauges were gone, no speedometer, no functions working. Every warning light came on. Display stated not to shut off the engine as it may not restart. She stated nothing worked in the vehicle, turn signals, brake lights may not have been working. And what if this happened at night? Would the headlights have worked? She drove the vehicle to our local Jeep dealer where they were unable to "get it in for a week". I had the vehicle towed to another dealer about 30 miles away. I provided them with the error codes the first dealer pulled and a picture of her dash display. They stated the error didn't occur for them, they drove it 13 miles and no errors were detected so they said they cannot troubleshoot it. It was a major can bus failure. If...

Our 2019 Jeep has been experiencing symptoms since 2022, and Jeep has no resolution for it yet. I fear for the safety of my family riding in the vehicle, cannot use all the installed features (cannot remote start with check engine light on) and cannot sell it in its current condition due to this recall. Is there any solution in sight?

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the passenger’s and driver's sidestep rail was lowering independently. Additionally, the rail on both sides of the vehicle remained in the raised position and failed to lower when the front doors were opened. The contact stated that the failure was occurring when the vehicle was stopped and while the vehicle was being driven. The contact stated there were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

In the cold weather, usually under 40degrees, sensors come on alerting me that stablisation is disabled, auto start/stop is disabled, check engine light comes on, parking brake illuminates and does not turn off while driving, cruise control does not work, radio information cluster intermittently works etc. It's seems to be all electrical. I have taken it to the dealership several times and they can't figure out what the issue is. At first they said the auxiliary battery was bad and I paid over $400 for a new battery and still have the same issues.

The ABS module and ESC system malfunctioned. A message stating “Service Electronic Stability Control” appeared on the dashboard. The component is still installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. The ESC warning indicates that the system may be disabled, which could compromise the vehicle’s stability and braking performance—especially in emergency or poor weather conditions. I do not feel safe driving the vehicle, as the malfunction may affect the ability to stop or control the vehicle properly, increasing the risk of an accident. I contacted the dealership and an independent mechanic and they confirmed the issue is related to Recall Z48. However, they also stated that no repair or remedy is currently available. The “Service Electronic Stability Control” message appeared on the dashboard. This was the first noticeable symptom, and it started about 2-3 years ago. Also, my check engine light is on all the time. I...

I am experiencing a delamination issue with the Uconnect screen in my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude. I noticed this issue years ago when my car was still under warranty but thought it was a protective film on the Uconnect screen. Now, the Uconnect screen in my vehicle randomly turns off while driving which is a serious safety issue, especially when using the navigation system. This is a well-documented problem affecting many owners which typically manifests as bubbling or peeling of the screen's surface, leading to erratic touchscreen behavior such as phantom inputs, random changes in settings, or complete unresponsiveness. The root cause of the delamination appears to be the degradation of the "LOCA" adhesive between the screen's layers, often exacerbated by heat. This degradation can lead to the separation of the screen layers, resulting in the aforementioned symptoms. The problem affects various Uconnect systems, notably the 8.4" Uconnect...

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that upon parking the vehicle, an alarm sounded. The contact stated that the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the power door locks were engaging and disengaging independently. The contact stated that the infotainment system engaged functions independently. The contact stated that the vehicle had failed to register the presence of the key fob inside the vehicle. The contact stated while driving and using the navigation system, the navigation system independently changed the destination address. The contact stated that the vehicle started independently while the contact was not in the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off inadvertently while making a turn. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and continued driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer it was purchased from, and the lighting assembly underneath the seats were removed and the key...

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland that has been issued recall 94B (24-V-838) with no remedy currently available. While driving this vehicle, it displayed a message to stop and turn off vehicle as it will be shutting down soon. Without further warning, the vehicle shut down, all power, lights etc, while driving at posted speed of 55 MPH, which resulted in the need for the driver to pursue action to avoid what could have been a serious accident. The active error codes indicate an issue with the HCU/ABS module, which is what was recalled. Jeep has not provided any assistance during the 5 months since this recall was issued. This recall should be upgraded to a mandatory do not drive recall with a loaner vehicle to be provided by Jeep until a remedy is determined.

ACTIVE SAFETY RECALL 94B STELLANTIS ISSUED 11/07 4+ MONTHS WITH NO REMEDY!!!! I FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND PASSANGERS EVERY TIME I NEED TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE. STELLANTIS SHOULD PROVIDE LOANER VEHICLES TO THE CONSUMER AT NO COST GIVEN THEIR INABILITY TO FIND A REMEDY IN A TIMELY MANNER.

I am writing to formally express my frustration and deep concern regarding Recall 94B, which affects my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude and currently has no available remedy. This recall, as confirmed by Fox Chrysler Jeep in Southfield, MI, directly impacts critical safety features, including the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) and other key functions essential for the safe operation of my vehicle. Given the severity of this issue—especially during Michigan’s harsh winter months—I find it unacceptable that no resolution is currently available. Fox Chrysler Jeep has verified that all warning lights on my dashboard are related to this recall, yet they have informed me there is nothing they can do at this time. As a loyal Jeep owner, I am extremely disappointed that Stellantis has not yet provided a solution to an issue that directly compromises my safety and that of others on the road. Given the circumstances, I am...

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery, fuse box, body control module, and TIPM needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,200.

Electronic stability control, check engine and ABS lights are all on. This effects not only my ESC- I have gone out of control multiple times in bad weather, but because of this the cruise control and the automatic starter on my vehicle do not work either. I live in northern VT where winters are tough. ESC needs to be working properly to prevent potential for crash. I have come close several times this winter to going out of control. Also very annoying that the convenience items do not work. Lastly- these lights have been showing on the dash since last summer. I wanted to trade the vehicle in about this time and still do for a different vehicle but can not because of the dash being lit up. This is causing significant financial impact on my household as the vehicle is depreciating day by day and I would certainly not...

Screen is delaminating and sometimes it will randomly hut a button on the screen (seat warmer, radio change, etc). Sometimes this is sudden while on highway and distracts me to see what happened. Thus also makes it much harder to see when using backup cam sometimes to the point of it being useless.

Vehcile affected: 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Overland _ 2 wheel drive Vehicle Mfr Date - October 2018 The vehicle was in Park and engine was off. I got in the driver seat, mashed the brake, pressed the starter button, the starter responded so I immediately took my hand off the button. Even without my hand on the button the starter button would not disengage… it just repeatedly kept spinning and spinning and spinning. Kind of like it was hung or something. I had even tried pressing the start button again to make it stop but that didn’t work… (The button went in and came back out with no problem so the button itself was not stuck) The starter just wouldn’t disengage. I couldn’t figure out what to do. It did this for at least 30 to 45 seconds…. Like, My husband had time to get out of the backseat...

I purchased a 2019 grand Cherokee and the radio started to delaminating. Called Jeep cares and they told me if I went and got a diagnostic saying that The screen was delaminating, and I got a diagnostic that said that they would put it in the system and it would be covered was ever said to me about a warranty because I’m over my warranty, but I have an extended warranty through Lafontaine. It’s called easy care and when they told me that I was excited because, I was gonna get my radio fixed because the radio is the main brains to the car controls the camera on the phone or settings. I’ll have to get diagnostic. I called to make sure that was in the system and the lady told me that they changed the policy and that they would not cover it. The company knows all those radios...

Well maintained and properly serviced car. Never had any issues. While driving out of town, 4hrs into the drive the electrical system went haywire. Error messages began cycling through on the driver panel - stability control lights, service air bag system, engine light comes up, and service bag system, after which the car loses total power. After pulling onto the side of the road, I placed car in park, and attempted to restart and it would not power on. All lights are working but the vehicle will not start - it makes starting sound but won’t power on. After trying for about 30 minutes, the ac blower pop on, which was strange b/c the car was powered off. The car starts and is driven about a mile and the same thing happens all over. After trying another hour it starts again and drives another 2 hrs to my destination (at...

I have a few different issues with my car. The transmission has been shifting roughly, there’s a loud clunking sound when I put it in reverse, and I'm experiencing slipping, hesitation on acceleration, and sudden bursts of power. The car has been starting to jerk a lot. The engine has lost power while driving, which forced me to pull over on a busy highway at night with my kids in the vehicle. Fortunately, I was able to roll off the freeway, turn off the car, and after several attempts, I managed to drive home. Also my vehicle sometimes have a difficulty starting. I’ll press the start button and no response. I’ve also been dealing with electrical problems. My screen constantly freezes, goes blank or turns off. At times I can’t connect my smart devices. My AC has broke, repaired and having problems again. I previously took my vehicle to the...

Uconnect screen with radio/nav/driver controls is delaminating, causing screens to change and overriding all driver selections. Safety issue. Multiple complaints on Jeep forum and class action lawsuit in 2022 which has been closed due to overwhelming number of complaints. It’s a well known issue with FCA but they refuse to issue recall. Backup camera freezing and hand free difficult to use. Distracting and unsafe. FCA NEEDS TO ISSUE RECALL!

Our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee started to exhibit the following conditions: brake lights remained ON, ESC failure, AutoPark Failure, Cruise Control failure, vehicle started without depressing the brake pedal. I researched possible recalls and found Z48 for HCU/ABS module failures. Our vehicle was in the recalled build dates. We took it to Palace Chrysler Jeep Ram Inc. in Lake Orion, MI for repair. They "reflashed" the software, cleared the fault codes and returned the vehicle to us. In 3 key cycles, the failures returned. We took the car back to the dealership. They stated that the reflash wasn't done correctly. (blamed machine error) Reset the fault codes and in 3-5 key cycles the problem returned. Now on the third try, the dealership replaced the HCU/ABS module and charged us $1,100 for the repair. We requested reimbursement from Stellantis and have been denied 3 times. This is completely unacceptable since the...

The 8.4 uconnect back up camera isn't working properly in my 2019 Grand Cherokee. I've spoken with several Jeep mechanics and they all say it's a faulty software issue with all of the 8.4 units.. There is a recall but Jeep dealers refuse to reinstall the faulty software.. Instead they want to replace the whole unit for 2000 dollars.. Everybody knows about this problem but nothing is being done

Hello, I own a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee still under warranty and in the last few months have noticed the display screen starting to delaminate, it has become an eyesore but it does not bother me. What does bother me is what happens as the display screen delaminates. The glue melts, and leaks onto wiring of all the components under the screen including the AC, all the parking sensors/rear sensors, and traction control, causing them to short out. Shortly after my screen started to delaminate I noticed a notification on my dash telling me that my rear sensors were no longer accessible. Since then I have had multiple cars in my blind spot that I could not see that posed the potentially threat of a terrible accident. After noticing this I went online to see if anyone else was having this problem and as soon as I clicked search, thousands...

While driving, my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo began smelling like burnt plastic, then a red warning triangle came on in the speedometer saying, ‘stop safely vehicle shut off soon’. At the same time, the engine warning light, battery warning light, and skid warning lights came on. I pulled over and when the car was examined the red plastic housing around the terminal that can be used to jumpstart the battery had melted. The vehicle is being towed to the dealer for a repair.

Recall Z48 service was performed 02/09/23. Fox Jeep invoice #556304. Facility mechanic confirmed issue was present prior to performing recall as the brake lights remained on for several minutes after parking, shutting off, and exiting vehicle. Recall Z48 PCM update was completed. Vehicle continues to exhibit same issue with brake lights remaining on for several minutes after vehicle is parked / shut off / occupant exits. I believe Stellantis has a known issue with the ABS module in this vehicle and needs to replace the module with a properly functioning unit instead of attempting to conceal the fault through another PCM update. Attached copy of invoice from recall performed 02/09/23 @ 70,316 miles and photo of brake lights remaining on after exiting vehicle taken last week @ approximately 76,000 miles.

Radio screen delimitation screen is affected touch screen functions don't work makes random phone calls volume jumps up & down.
#11525096 |
Radio/screen delimitation. Known issue by Jeep for years now; obvious safety issue, when the screen starts doing phantom touches it is very distracting to the driver. Also, as the glue melts, it leaks onto the wiring of all the components under the screen including the AC, all the parking sensor and traction control off controls. Phantom phone calls/cannot turn on/off heat. Radio does not just power “ radio”. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!

The driver's side door lock will no longer operate using the key fob, lock/unlock button inside, or automatically lock when driving. It will only operate to unlock when the handle is pulled. It is available for inspection. It is a safety hazard due to not having a locked door when parked or when driving. The problem has been confirmed by CLJ in Justice. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance. There are no warning lamps or messages.

Backup camera sometimes stays on after shifting out of reverse and it takes many tries to turn off. It also sometimes comes on randomly while driving and won’t turn off right away.

Outstanding recall Z-48. This recall was first identified in June 2022. The dealers cannot fix the problem because Chrysler Corp. has not provided a solution. This is affecting the operation of the vehicle and probably reducing the resale value. Five months seems to me too long a time not to have a solution. Can the government give them an ultimatum of either provide the fix in the next 30 / 60 days or provide a cash discount on trading in the vehicle.

Vehicle was purchased on 8/11/2022. After the vehicle was stopped, turned off & emergency brake set, the brake lights continued to stay on for several minutes.

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee radio is delaminating. This causes components to either not respond or to activate on their own without driver activation. This known delaminating issue is a serious safety concern as the instrument panel controls the large majority of the components in the vehicle.

After starting and functioning normally for a ~ mile, a warning came up “stop safely - your vehicle will shut off soon”. I was on a road with no shoulder and had to keep going. In less than a minute, (1/2 mile) power steering failed, all other electrical devices, brake lights, dash lights, Speedo failed shortly thereafter. Engine and trans were barely functioning. I just managed to manhandle ( power steering had failed) it into a parking lot when it shut down completely. There is no way my wife (car owner & usual driver) could have steered it to safety. Once into the lot, Couldn’t electronically unlock doors or put it in park or even turn it completely off. It was literally electronically dead. Had to climb over seat to retrieve pets and perishables from the back as the tailgate open function also failed. Towed to Davis Chrysler Jeep in...

Touch screen on uConnect system freezes upon startup or randomly while driving and will also turn blue and reboot several times before it functions properly. Backup camera will not function when screen is frozen and this is a major safety concern. Top left corner of touch screen has started to delaminate, approximately 3 months out of standard 3 year warranty. Vehicle has 36,981 miles. Delamination is causing issues with touch screen.

My vehicle stop running at the light. I got it started again and turned left and it died about a block from the light. Then it would not start. Hard it towed home and the rear wheels locked up when they tried to dropped the car off in the drive way. Could not take it out of gear. The next day it started up and was able to move it. Made an appoint to have it checked our four days later and it would not start. Took it to the shop and they could not move it off the back of the flatbed. Brought it back home. Then the batteries died. Tried to jump start., Almost. When it did I took it out of park. But then it was dead. Nothing. Had it towed to the Jeep dealer in Marshal, Mi. They said both batteries where totally no good. They...

I have a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk currently around 33,500 miles. I bought this vehicle new and have been having issues with it since I got it. I hear electrical crackling and popping throughout the cabin, mostly in the dashboard. I thought at first it was the adaptive cruise or forward braking system engaging, but the sound seems to be completely random. A common symptom is the speakers, microphones, and speaker-based safety alerts are completely cut out. If I'm on a call, the person on the other end will not be able to hear me until the speakers come back. Some of the systems that do not work as intended include: -- Radio/SiriusXM/Apple Carplay/Android Auto (No sound) -- Uconnect Voice Command (No Sound/Mic) -- Parking sensors (no proximity alerts) -- USB Ports (slow charge and do not recognize phones) -- Forward Collison Alerts (No Sound) -- Navigation Alerts (No...
