The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while attempting to start the vehicle, the engine failed to turn over. The contact stated that the vehicle started after approximately five attempts. The contact then stated that she heard a loud noise near the fuel tank after the vehicle was started and while driving. The check fuel warning light, the check engine warning light, and the check pressure warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the brakes were serviced; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact then stated that the mechanic noticed that the fuel pump was in the back seat of the vehicle and stated that the fuel pump was missing. When driving the truck will randomly shut off or stall no matter the speed or if its parked. replaced the crankshaft and cam shaft position sensor and still has the same issue. These vehicles must have a bad ECM unit on them or something.

WITHOUT WARNING MY JEEPS ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT IS WHILE STOPPED OR DRIVING IT WILL SHUT OFF AND NOT TURN BACK ON UNTIL ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER. THE VEHICLE STALLS .SHUTS OFF WHEN DRIVING IT RUNS LIKE A DREAM AND OUT OF NO WHERE IT SHUTS OFF
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD HISSING SOUND. NOTICED IT WAS A MANIFOLD LEAK AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION NOTICED TWO BOLTS WERE BROKE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, LEFT SIDE OF THE MOTOR BY THE FIREWALL. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO REMOVE THESE BROKEN BOLTS OTHER THAN PULLING THE MOTOR. NO MECHANIC WILL TOUCH IT. THEREFORE LEAVING THE COST ON THE CONSUMER. THE GRADE OF THE BOLTS ARE VERY POOR. THEY KNEW THE 4.7 V8 MOTOR WOULD NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPACE FOR THE CONSUMER TO FIX THESE ISSUES. LEAVING THE CONSUMER TO PAY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE IT IS NOT SAFE IT IS NOT FAIR. AFTER DOING WUITE ALOT OF RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT THE 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEEROKEES HAVE A KNOWN STALLING PROBLEM THAT CANNOT BE EXPLAINED. THESE VEHICLES STALL WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES TO FAIL. CREATING A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR ANYONE IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. EVERY COMPLAINT I HAVE SEEN STATES THAT THE OWNERS HAVE SUNK LOTS OF MONEY AND REPLACED SEVERAL PARTS ONLY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM RETURN TIME AND TIME AGAIN. WHY HAS THIS STALLING ISSUE NEVER BEEN ADDRESSED, AND JEEP HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE REPAIRS? I HAVE FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINS ALL OVER THE INTERNET DESCRIBING THIS SAME STALLING HAZARD.
TRANSMISSION COOLANT LINE IS LEAKING IT'S BEEN WORKED ON SEVERAL TIMES. THE MOTOR HAS AIR IN THE COOLANT SYSTEM AFTER REPLACEMENT OF RADIATOR. THE POWER STEERING LINE WAS REPLACED. THE BACK WIPER MOTOR DOES NOT WORK. SOMETHING INEW THE DASH MAKES A MOVING SOUND AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF ON PASSENGER SIDE. I HAD BRAKE LINES FIXED. THE VEHICLE LOOSES OIL ON THE ROAD DUE TO THE LINE LEAKING. THE BACK WIPER NOT WORKING MAKES IT HARD TO SEE OUT THE BACK WINDOW.

THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL FOR THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR - RECALL D-13. IT IS LISTED THAT IT EXISTS IN SOME 2004 MODEL YEAR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 4.0L ENGINE. CHRYSLER SAID MY VIN IS NOT ONE OF THE VEHICLES THAT HAD THE RECALL. THEY INDICATED THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR VEHICLES BUILT 12/16/03-2/6/04. CHRYSLER SAID MY VEHICLE BUILT 0M 4/24/2004. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BECAUSE THIS PART MALFUNCTIONED ON MY VEHICLE AND I HAD TO REPLACE IT AND BELIEVE THAT I SHOULD GET REIMBURSED BY CHRYSLER. VEHICLE WOULD NOT START BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROMISED TO WORK WITH THE DEALER AND PROVIDE A RENTAL VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,800.
I'VE ALWAYS HAD TROUBLE WITH MY 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. ESPECIALLY WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM AND FUEL PUMP. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE MY FUEL PUMP 3-4 TIMES. NOW ITS READING THE RPM EXTREMELY HIGH. I'VE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE MY JEEP'S COMPUTER BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. IT SEEMS THERE'S ALSO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I STILL CAN'T FIND THE EXACT PROBLEM.

I HAVE A 2004 GRAND CHEROKEE . SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, I STARTED TO HAVE STALLING ISSUES. HOT OR COLD, DRY OR WET, FIRST DRIVE OF THE DAY OR LAST, IT DIDN'T MATTER. THE ENGINE WOULD CUT OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING REGARDLESS OF SPEED. I HAD TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, RECRANK IT AND PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE JUST TO AVOID ACCIDENTS, OTHERWISE IT DRIFTS OUT OF CONTROL. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT BUT NOW IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERYDAY. ON APRIL 14 20014 THE VEHICLE MENTIONED STALLED OUT ON MY GIRLFRIEND DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.SHE WAS ABLE TO START IT BACK UP.ON 4-16-14 IT STALLED ON HER AGAIN WHILE DRIVING SHE WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED .ON THE 18 IT STALLED IN A PARKING LOT AT LUNCH BUT GOT IT STARTED AND AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AFTER WORK AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED HOME. I OWN A 2004 JEEP CHEROKEE WHICH HAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WHERE THE POWER WINDOWS, DOOR LOCKS AND EVERYTHING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR CONTROL PANEL DO NOT WORK AS WELL AS THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT TURN OFF, ALL CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE.I FOUND OUT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH JEEP CHEROKEES DUE TO THE WIRING INSIDE THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. I HAD THIS ISSUE IN 2009 AFTER AT ABOUT 46,000 MILES. WHEN CALLING THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP GIVE ME AN EXACT PRICE OVER THE PHONE AS THEY KNEW OF THIS ISSUE. SINCE THE DEALERSHIP WAS VERY RUDE AND PRICE WAS VERY HIGH.I HAD THE REPAIRS DONE AT A HIGHLY REGARDED REPAIR SHOP WHICH SPECIALIZES IN ELECTRICAL WORK WHICH COST $201 BUT NOW (AT 80,000 MILES) THE EXACT SAME ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AGAIN DUE TO THE OPENING...
THE TWO REAR BOLTS THAT ATTACH THE LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAVE SHEARED OFF CAUSING A SIGNIFICANT EXHAUST LEAK AND POOR ENGINE PERFORMANCE WHILE ENGINE IS COLD. BASED UPON INTERNET RESEARCH THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE ON 4.7L V8 ENGINES. *TR
