TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 JAGUAR S-TYPE. WHENEVER THE CONTACT PARKS ON AN INCLINE, THE GEAR BECOMES STUCK IN THE PARK POSITION. IN ORDER TO MOVE THE VEHICLE, IT MUST BE PUSHED AND ROCKED BACK AND FORTH UNTIL IT POPS OUT OF GEAR. OCCASIONALLY, THE VEHICLE CAN SHIFT INTO REVERSE, WHICH CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR THOSE PUSHING THE VEHICLE IN THE REAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THIS WAS A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2000 S-TYPES; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO RECALL OR REMEDY. THROUGH RESEARCH, THE CONTACT FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS RELATED TO THIS FAILURE AND BELIEVES THAT A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 65,000. I FINANCED A JAGUAR IN FEBRUARY 2008 AND HAVE HAD A PROBLEM FROM ALMOST THE BEGINNING WITH THE GEARSHIFT, GETTING OUT OF PARK WHILE ON THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE I'VE HAD TO GET OUT AND ROCK THE CAR JUST TO GET IT INTO REVERSE AND THIS IS ALL THE TIME. SINCE THAT TIME, I'VE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS PROBLEMS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DEALING WITH THE CAR ROLLING BACK WHILE IN DRIVE.
