The contact owns a 2007 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to shift into gear, the vehicle was shaking and difficult to shift into gear. The engine and ABS warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 11V395000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

My catalytic converter was stolen when my car was parked. Honda owners has been targeted for its catalytic converters, and there are numerous reports of Honda’s cats being stolen. Honda has a major defect where it makes it easier for thieves to steal the cat in minutes. There are 3 major flaws with the product. 1) Hondas don’t automatically come with a cat converter steel shield, cage, or other protector to make them harder to steal. 2) Hondas don’t install their cat in the engine compartment like other car manufacturers to deter theft. 3) Honda’s cat contains valuable materials, which is why they are targeted. Other car brands tend to have less valuable catalysts so thieves are not incentivized to steal them. Because there are many cats being stolen, there is a shortage to replace them, and car owners have to wait weeks to months to get their cat replaced....

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND HAD IT TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC REPAIRED THE STARTER AND STARTER RELAY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. MULTIPLE UNKNOWN DEALERS WERE CONTACTED, BUT DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND LOST POWER. AS A RESULT, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT FELT ILL AND DROWSY PRIOR TO THE CRASH. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED NECK AND BACK INJURIES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT A NEW BUMPER WAS NEEDED AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHT NEEDED REPAIRING. PURCHASED THE 2017 CR-V IN OCTOBER 2017. NOTICED GASOLINE ODOR EXISTS IN ENGINE OIL DURING A ROUTINE SELF-CHECKING PRIOR TO THE 1ST OIL CHANGE ON MAY 19, 2018. MENTIONED TO HONDA DEALERSHIP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (LIVERMORE HONDA IN CALIFORNIA), BUT THE DEALERSHIP REPRESENTATIVE SAID IT IS NOT AN ISSUE. BASE ON THE VEHICLE MAINTENANCE MINDER, THE OIL LIFE IS AT 40% AS OF FIRST WEEK OF OCTOBER, I NOTICE THE GASOLINE ODOR, AGAIN, PRESENTS IN THE ENGINE OIL AGAIN. ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE IS CURRENTLY IN WORKING CONDITION, IT SEEMS THE GASOLINE ODOR PRESENTS IN ENGINE OIL IS UNUSUAL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DON JACOBS HONDA (2699 REGENCY RD, LEXINGTON, KY 40503, (859) 276-5555) WHERE THE OIL, PLATES, AND REAR DIFFERENTIAL WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING AND RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,266.

AIRCONDITIONING SYSTEM CLUTCH OR CONPRESSOR. SOMETHING WENT WRONG. THEN WE FIND OUT THERE WAS A BULLETIN ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM IN 2012, WE OWNED THE VEHICLE THEN AND NEVER GOT ANY INFO ABOUT THIS. WHY?
I CAME OUT OF WORK AND STARTED MY CAR. IT SMELLED HORRIBLE, LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. I BROUGHT IT TO MY HONDA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT IS THE CLUTCH MECHANISM. THE A/C COMPRESSOR FAILED AND IT IS GOING TO COST $1600 TO FIX. THIS WAS LEGITIMATELY OUT OF NOWHERE WITH NO ISSUE UP UNTIL THIS POINT IN TIME AND IT TOOK ME COMPLETELY BY SURPRISE. UPON LOOKING ONLINE, THERE ARE SEVERAL REPORTS OF SIMILAR SITUATIONS. A RECALL REALLY SHOULD BE DONE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE REPAIR FOR OWNERS TO BE BURDENED WITH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED HOWEVER A FAILURE CODE WAS NOT FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. AFTER PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT THE GROCERY STORE, I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AT A HIGH SPEED ALMOST HITTING THE CAR PARKED IN FRONT OF ME. I HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO STOP THE CAR (AND MY BRAKES ARE FAIRLY NEW)! ALMOST SCARED ME TO DEATH! I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. THE CAR GETS SERVICED REGULARLY BY THE DEALER. AFTER THIS INCIDENT I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE FOR FEAR IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND NEXT TIME SOMEONE COULD GET HURT OR WORSE. *TR
HONDA CRV 2007 ISSUE: DOORS WHEN LOCKED BY EITHER REMOTE OR VIA CAR WOULD LOCK ALL DOORS EXCEPT THE DRIVERS. HONDA DID COVER IT THE FIRST TIME THEN A YEAR LATER THE ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME WAS IN THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE. ALSO THE FRONT CENTER DOOR LIGHT (RIGHT SIDE) FAILS TO TURN ON WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOORS, IT WILL HOWEVER TURN ON WHEN YOU PRESS THE BUTTON. EVEN GOT A NEW BULB BUT ISSUE REMAINED. I USE TO THINK HONDA WAS A GREAT CAR DO BASIC MAINTENANCE AND YOU SHOULD BE SET. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. THERE ARE TWO RECALLS ON THIS CAR AND HONDA HAS NOT EVEN NOTIFIED ME OF EVEN ONE OF THOSE AND WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER AND ASKED ABOUT THE POWER STEERING PUMP THEY DIDN'T MENTION THE RECALL BUT STATED IT WOULD COST $600.
