2017 HONDA ACCORD Back Over Prevention Sensing System Camera Problems

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while reversing, the image displayed on the screen was not clear. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

Rear back up camera stopped working @ around 40k miles. It is now always black when the car is in reverse.

Backup camera is not working properly. Camera is foggy and not producing a clear picture. Yes this problem has been confirmed by a Honda dealer. The rear camera had to be replaced and was replaced by the dealer. The cost to repair was 580.000 and not covered under any warranty's.

SAFETY CONCERN--BACKUP CAMERA FAILED

The backup camera on this vehicle stopped working during the summer of 2021 with fewer than 15,000 miles on the vehicle. The failure of the camera was noted on an invoice for an oil change dated July 1, 2021, which I have retained should you want it. At the time, I learned that about 600,000 Hondas from the next two model years had been recalled because of a defect with the backup camera. Attempts to obtain informal accommodation from Honda proved useless, and I ultimately decided to have the camera replaced at a cost of over $550.
