The 3rd cylinder connecting rod failed under 120k miles. The rod knocked the starter loose while the vehicle was going 70 MPH, and caused a fire. It was inspected by the dealership it was purchased from. There were no symptoms or warnings at all, it was sudden and unexpected. Myself and my passenger were both shaken and thankfully had time to pull over when it happened, and we managed to put the fire out.
This vehicle has the same 3.5 litre V-6 that is being recalled engine failures, and stalling in the Honda Ridgeline, Passport and Acuras. Why arent the Honda Accords included? Since 2020, this car stops moving forward, and attempts to stall after a complete stop in traffic. I have to feather the gas pedal to reingage the engine, and get the car out of danger. It is an ongoing situation. I am the only driver of the car, and would never letanyone else drive it, due to this. I happens very regularly.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the RPM was elevated, and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate above 15 MPH. The contact stated that the failure was due to clogged fuel injectors. The contact retrieved DTC: P0302 (Misfire in Cylinder #2). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
Cylinder 3 misfire as indicated through an obd2 scan caused by a faulty spark plug and igntion coil. This is the second time these needed to be replaced when the vehicle is at 58,000 miles. The VCM is causing this issue along with excessive oil consumption and Honda is aware and not issuing recall or reimbursement for service to correct the issue.
The fuel injectors/fuel system is malfunctioning causing the vehicle to jerk during acceleration and is dangerous since the car feels like it’s about to stall.
The vehicle sometimes is stalled during the red light stop. Both engine fuel light and battery light will come up. After several attempt to restart the engine, it will run again. I know there was fuel pump recall on 2017 Accord, but it's not on my sport model. So, I think it might be affect to my car too.
On Sunday, March 30th, while driving on the highway, the car jerked and a hard vibration was felt before the engine died. The orange engine light flashed two or three times on the instrument panel but that was it. The owners manual states that a flashing orange engine light indicates a misfire. No other lights prior to that moment had illuminated on the instrument panel. The car is a 2017 Accord Sport with approximately 101k miles. Purchased in November 2021, this is the first time there’s ever been a problem and my car is maintained regularly. The car was towed to a local mechanic and I was told there was a misfire on cylinder 3, the valve spring is broken, the valve is bent, and the timing chain is loose. I was told I need a new engine. I don’t understand what happened because there was no warning or indication...
The first instance occurred 04 Apr 2018, where while driving the car shutoff; I was able to coast to shoulder of road. After a brief amount of time I was able to restart, but it occurred again while heading to dealer location. The dealer blamed the malfunction on bad gas and could not replicate. (see R.O. 767659). 2nd occurrence was 25 May 2018 again. I was in an traffic light intersection and was able to coast through and get to side of road. Called dealer and their recommendation was to have car towed to dealership. They finally agreed there was a serious problem and replaced fuel pump assy. see (R.O. 773135 attached). I recvd 1st recall notice 20 Mar 2024 (parts unavail). I recvd 2nd recall notice Oct 2024. On visit to dealer they stated no repairs will be done unless symptoms occur. Since then I have been hesitant to...
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled temporarily. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the transmission and the alternator were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled completely. The malfunction indicator light (MIL) was illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the local Pep Boys, where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a related recall. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced, at the owner’s expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that there was abnormal fuel consumption while driving on trips. The starter was replaced at the contact’s expense at a local dealer; however, the failure persisted. The check engine warning light intermittently illuminated. In addition, the battery was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
Computer sensor, fuel pump, starter the car stalls while cranking and stalls while driving like it wants to shut off. The car wont go over 60 miles without skipping the engine and when the car stops the engine cuts off.
Car radio has extreme static noise from speakers unbearable to drive. Can’t turn off radio it freezes with the noise being unbearable and is distraction to drive.
The car is unable to be driven at no more than than 20 miles per hour. . I believe and other mechanic people believe that the problem was a fuel injection problem. Honda autopark Honda in cary, NC charged me $1500 to fix a water pump problem. No issues with temperature inside the car.
The vehicle turn off and on while driving on the highway, is like the engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. I'm aware there's no recall on my vehicle, however, it's a known issue that Honda had voluntarily recall approximately 2.6 million 2017-2020 Honda vehicles in the United States to replace their fuel pumps, for free due to a similar issue. I have experience this issue of the vehicle shutting down then on while driving in the last couple of weeks and it's increasing each day. The accord was bought for my son to use, if he encounter an accident due to this fuel pump issue and he lose his life, someone would have to be held accountable.
Currently own a 2017 Honda Accord Sport just over 100k miles, regularly maintained and serviced. All of a sudden my vehicle takes longer to start and the most shocking issue is that I was driving to work as normal and when I went to accelerate onto the interstate my vehicle suddenly started jerking and it seemed as though my vehicle was not getting fuel even though I was pressing the accelerator. I had to get off the interstate as I was almost hit by other vehicles merging onto the interstate. It is very frustrating that other trims of Accords are included in the recall except this model. This recall needs to be revised to reflect all models for all owners. I literally almost lost my life due to this.
Vehicle stalled while travelling. I suspect this is a problem of the high pressure fuel pump gathering particulates and not working as proper. There is a similar recall regarding the V6 models of my vehicle, however, the 4 cylinder models were left unaddressed.
Around [XXX] on [XXX], I was driving my 2017 Honda Accord LX on [XXX] East in northwestern New Jersey. The first signs of trouble were multiple warning lights (Check Engine and many others) appearing suddenly on the dashboard. There was a total loss of engine power and the tachometer dial dropped abruptly to zero. As I applied the brakes to slow down and move onto the shoulder of the highway, I realized that I also had no power brakes or steering. When the car was nearly stopped on the shoulder, I saw smoke filling the cabin and flames coming from under the engine hood toward the windshield. We quickly exited the car and called 911. The State Police and Fire Department arrived on the scene within 10 minutes but by that time the fire had spread to the interior cabin. The car was inspected by insurance representatives and declared a...
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop sign and the attempting to make a left turn, the accelerator pedal became unresponsive while depressed. The pedal was depressed to the floorboard, but the vehicle failed to respond. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle taken to a dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic was not able to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,800.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the vehicle with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle started losing motive power while depressing the accelerator pedal with the dashboard shaking abnormally. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to a dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a fouled spark plug. The contact was also informed that the piston rings needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
All lights on dash board have lit up ABS, Tire Pressure, Engine Check light, brake light.
About 3 months ago, the emergency brake light, traction control light, ABS light and power steering light started coming off and on, they now stay on all the time. I took and had it checked, CODE 121-11 for the VSA Solenoid Valve Malfunction. Had it checked for a program update I was told that there wasn't an update and the part to fix it has been on backorder from Honda for at least two years. (I notified Honda about this) I have a very strange sound when applying the brakes on a cold start and I can also feel a jerk in the brake pedal. Also noticed that oil is leaking around the engine cover and was told that it is a manufacturing issue with Honda. The cover is plastic and over the years, the plastic shrinks and causes a small oil leak. Replacing the cover and gasket would fix...
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the low oil level warning light was displayed, and the vehicle would hesitate while driving at various speeds. After checking the engine oil level, it was discovered that the oil level in the engine was extremely low although the engine oil had recently been changed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who stated that no oil leak was present, and the cause of the low engine oil was undetermined. The contact was informed that the engine would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 128,000.
The V6 version is under recall. However, this vehicle should be as well. The car fails to accelerate. My car was at the Honda Dealership for over ten days. I came in because my car was unexpectedly unable to accelerate. Honda advised me there wasn't a code but I needed a new battery and other maintenance. I picked up my car, and within 1 mile, I could not accelerate when exiting and was nearly in an accident. Honda advised me at first the car had a misfire and then was unable to duplicate the error. I advised them that it was a safety hazard to drive the vehicle, and if I leave the shop and get into an accident it would be their fault. The next day they said it was a valve issue, and now fuel injectors. I did a search online, and many Honda Accords 2017 owners have...
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 2 MPH on 12/3/2022 and going up an incline in an underground parking lot, the vehicle would not respond to the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact moved forward towards the street exit. The contact stated the vehicle would roll backwards and he depressed the brakes to stop the vehicle from striking the vehicle behind him. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle almost stalled at a traffic signal. The contact was making a right turn and the vehicle hesitated. The contact released the accelerator pedal and then depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle accelerated normally. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact had driven the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle had not been...
FUEL INJECTORS FAILED ON TWO OCCASIONS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER AND STALL WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE PARTS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. OUR SAFETY WAS PUT AT RISK DUE THE LOSS OF POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER THE SECOND REPORTED INCIDENT, THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, ONLY THE REPAIRING DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT APPEARED AS THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER.
Issue with charging system (B3 Check Charging System). Honda dealer ran full diagnostic test and inspection. Changed battery. Alternator, starter, and fuses inspected. Continue to receive error message stating check charging system.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH and changing lines, while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated and lost motive power. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that a valve adjustment was needed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the fuel injectors were working as designed. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000 (Fuel System, Other) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
My car hesitates when I accelerate I understand there’s a recall for the V6 engine issues with the fuel pump my car is in that category why is there no recall for it. It is doing just what the other cars did that got the recall.
Car shuts off while driving. Very dangerous could cause a wreck. Will not start back up for about 20 minutes.
On Thursday July 14, while driving on HWY 278, the car had a sudden failure and starting decelerating. It almost got me and my daughter who was riding with me at the time killed. Only the grace of God protected us!!! I managed to get the car to the Honda dealer (DCH Academy Honda #708, Old Bridge, NJ). They informed me that the fuel pump failed and needed to change. The problem appeared all of a sudden and there was no warning at all. The car is being maintained regularly. This seems to be a manufacturing problem in the fuel pump for Honda Accord 2017 and it needs to be addressed. Again this almost got me killed!!!!!!
Driving and my Honda Accord lost all power. Dashboard red lights came on- battery and engine lights. Within in seconds it just stopped. Took it to Twin City Honda in Port Arthur, texas. They said I needed a new engine- and I got one.5 days later it would not start again in the driveway, Twin City Honda said it was my starter- had that replaced.
While arriving home today, I left my car running as I carried in groceries. When I came back to get some groceries I started smelling plastic burning. I then see smoke coming out from under my hood. I turn off my vehicle I pop open my hood and I Discover that the fan on the driver side is melted into my radiator. There are two fans in the front of the Honda accord. The fan on the passenger side is Fine however, the Driver side fan is completely melted. This was clearly a fire hazard where this car could’ve been on fire. I was fortunate enough to be home and not having my child in my vehicle. I called Honda to see if it was covered under warranty and they stated no. I did ask that this be reported if anyone else had this issue just for the fact it’s...
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle inadvertently slowed down and stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed there was a failure with the wires. Additionally, the engine fan and the other fuel pump needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000. Consumer stated faulty high pressure fuel pump was the cause of the engine stalling. Consumer has another 2017 Honda Accord that is exhibiting the same issue. Consumer has been informed by American Honda that consumer needs to have it diagnosed at a Honda Dealership.
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while at a complete stop at the stop light, the engine emitted abnormal sounds and was running abnormally as if the vehicle was going stall. The contact shifted to park and the engine started running normally. The contact then shifted to drive and continued to drive the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated while at a complete stop in a drive through, the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The check engine warning light, brake warning lights, and other unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact and her husband pushed the vehicle into a parking space with assistance. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after 25 minutes and drove to her residence. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The...
In 2017 I purchased a new Accord Touring. Shortly after purchase, I noticed the car would stall. I have taken the car back on several occassions to have it checked. Each time I have been told they can not detect anything and can not reproduce the issue. I have nearly been hit on a few occassions. I have also complained about the lane departure feature. It too has automatically and without reason over corrected, nearly causing collisions because it abruptly and without reason self corrected. The automatic breaking system has also enacted and caused unwarranted stopping. When the brake notification warning flashes on the dashboard, has caused me to react by applying pressure to the brakes even when it was unneccessary. This feature seems to wear down the brakes with the sudden and unwarranted stopping; even producing the smell of brakes and tires burning. All of these issues are extremely...

WHEN YOU LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN REAPPLY THE CAR WILL NOT RESPOND. YOU HAVE TO KEEP PRESSING AND RELEASING THE GAS PEDAL TIL THE CAR RESPOND. IT DOES IT WHEN LEAVING FROM A STOP IN TRAFFIC AND IF YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET.
LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON HWY AT 65MPH. ALL LIGHTS CAME ON AND SPEED DROPPED INSTANTLY TO 30MPH. WOULDN'T GO OVER 50MPH AFTER LETTING THE CAR SIT FOR AN HOUR. MILEAGE WAS AT 37100. HAPPENED AGAIN TWO MONTHS LATER. THIS TIME WHILE DRIVING 45MPH THE CAR STOPPED GOING AND ALL LIGHTS CAME ON. WOULDN'T DRIVE OVER 20MPH. PICKED UP BY TOW TRUCK AND TAKEN TO HONDA SERVICE DEPARTMENT. BOTH TIMES TAKEN TO HONDA THEY SAID THEY FOUND ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR EVEN THO ALL THE LIGHTS WERE LIT UP ON DASH. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN RESULT IN CRASH.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
THE STARTER WENT OUT ON THE VEHICLE JUST AFTER 36K MILES. I HAVE READ THAT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE AND WANTED MORE REPORTS OF IT HAPPENING BECAUSE IT IS UNACCEPTABLE.
CAR WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I HAD PARKED AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR IT WOULD NOT START.
1/10/2020 CAR WOULDN'T START. NO PREVIOUS PROBLEMS. CALLED HONDA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE THEY PROVIDE A JUMP START IN WHICH THE CAR STARTED. DROVE THE CAR RIGHT TO DAVID HOBBS HONDA. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE SPEED REDUCED SIGNIFICANTLY. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE TOOK AWHILE TO RESTART, HESITATED, AND DID NOT SMOOTHLY SHIFT GEARS TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE JERKED AND STRUGGLED TO GAIN SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN SLOWLY UNTIL IT FINALLY REACHED 65 MPH; HOWEVER, IT WOULD DECELERATE ON ANY HILL AND STRUGGLE TO GAIN SPEED. ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. TEAM HONDA (6363 SIEGEN LN, BATON ROUGE, LA 70809, (225) 298-4100) SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR LATER IN THE WEEK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
ENGINE STALLING
ENGINE HEAD KEEPS LEAKING OIL. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES BUT THEY WOULD JUST TIGHTEN THE HEAD BOLTS AND PUT A SEAL AROUND IT THAT WOULD LAST ABOUT 500 MILES BEFORE IT STARTS LEAKING AGAIN. THIS PROBLEM STARTED AT 4K MILES.
CAR SUDDENLY WONT START. BREAK PETAL IS STUCK, DASH LIGHTS CLICK AND WONT START. ACTS LIKE ITS THE BATTERY BUT DOESN'T ALLOW JUMP. CAR HAS LESS THAT 46,000 MILES AND IS 2 YRS OLD. CURRENT RECALL OUT FOR FUEL ISSUES, BUT THE DEALER IS SURE THATS NOT THE CAUSE. CONTACT AT THE DEALER WAS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL AND KINDA RUDE. RUSHED ME OFF THE PHONE WHEN I WAS ASKING QUESTIONS. VERY UPSET
