WHILE TURNING OFF OF STATE RD. ONTO A COUNTY RD. THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TURN AND I ALMOST RAN OFF THE ROAD IF I HAD NOT HAD GOOD UPPER BODY STRENGTH I WOULD HAVE CRASHED. AFTER RESEARCHING AND FINDING THAT THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2015 CANYON AND COLORADO, I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF A STEERING RECALL AND THAT IT WILL BE $2,300 TO FIX IT. IN EVERY CASE, WARNINGS LIGHTS HAVE DISPLAYED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE LOSS OF CONTROL. THESE LIGHTS HAVE ALSO 'TURNED-OFF' OR RESET WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. OVER THE PAST THREE DAYS OUR GMC CANYON HAS UNEXPECTEDLY LOST POWER STEERING AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT, THE ICONS FOR STABILITRACK AND TRACTION CONTROL ALSO POP UP ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. POWER STEERING IS ONLY RESTORED BY TURNING THE ENGINE OFF THEN BACK ON AGAIN.
