What component or system failed? The Steering and Suspension system failed. Specifically, the front axle hubs, track bar, and U-joints failed, causing a violent loss of steering control known as "Death Wobble." These components are currently available for inspection; however, they were diagnosed as "FAILED" and requiring immediate replacement to make the vehicle safe to drive. How was safety put at risk? The failure caused violent, uncontrollable shaking of the steering wheel and front end at highway speeds. This resulted in a near-total loss of directional control, putting the driver and surrounding traffic at immediate risk of a collision. The defect made the vehicle impossible to steer safely above 45 MPH. Has the problem been confirmed? Yes. The failure was reproduced and confirmed by an independent certified service center, AutoNation Ford Gulf Freeway. Their inspection explicitly diagnosed the front axle hubs, track bar, and U-joints as "FAILED" and unsafe. The...
My truck is been having a death wobble for years now. It's scary, I changed tires suspension and I still have the issue.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, requiring the steering wheel to be manually returned to center after completing a turn. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
My truck started "The Death Wobble" a few years ago. I have replaced shocks, tires and ball joints. The problem recently became almost undriveable on the highway as any small bump at a legal (70 MPH) triggered 5 instances on a trip to and from a destination that was 70 miles away via the interstate. I have ordered additional parts based on internet research to try to fix this issue, however in my research it is clear the is a COMMON issue. Why is this allowed to continue?
Severe death wobble with speeds over 50. Steering to left at that speed and vehicle shakes severely. Going interstate speed, vehicle almost comes off pavement and shakes all over. Brought in numerous times for issue and never rectified.
Hello on 8/3/22 I was driving on the highway and as I was accelerating at around 50mph the steering wheel started to violently shake back and forth. I thought I was going to loose control and crash. I have never experienced this in a vehicle before. To date I have replaced most of the front components and within the past month, both front Tie rods left and right. Steering tie rod including steering gearbox tie rod were replaced. My tires have been replaced in July of 2022. Both front Hubs in 2023. I just had the tires rebalanced again two weeks ago to try anything. The ball joints in 2022 and the mechanic says all these parts above are ok and he cant diagnose anything to cause this death wobble which he experienced. I am now having another shop replace the front Track bar to see if that helps. In...
Truck experienced death wobble at posted speed limit and steering could not be controlled until I could slow vehicle. Earlier the death wobble happened and took it to the ford dealer and the service reported nothing wrong. I replaced the tie rods steering damper installed new shocks and springs and cannot be corrected
I have experienced what is called the ford death wobble on multiple occasions however yesterday it happened 3 different times while traveling with my [XXX] nephew and elderly mother. It terrified both as it almost caused an accident yesterday. This is not acceptable to pay $53 thousand for a vehicle that you feel unsafe to drive! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Front end suspension has on several occasions began to violently shake. It appears that the driver side front wheel begins to bounce rapidly after hitting large or small defects within the road surface. This occurs only when driving on highway type roads where posted speeds typically exceed 55. (Texas has some posted speeds of 80 mph and I drive this area often) Numerous times during this occurrence I have had little to no control of my truck's direction of travel. The only solution to date that has worked is to slow down to a near stop while still in the middle of high speed traffic. When this "death wobble" occurs, I have zero control of my vehicle as far as steering is concerned. We no longer allow our children to ride in the truck with us as this has become a dangerous driving environment. Additionally the violence of this wobble...
I just had new breaks and rotors, shocks and some small front end parts replaced. Alignment also completed. While driving south on I-17 down from sunset point at 75 mph the speed limit, I went over a small bump or hole on the road and the death wobble started and violently began to wobnble from passenger side to driver side, or jumping or boucing 6" to 12". items in the door storage and on the dash where tossed about. I began pumping the breaks until the wobble stopped at about 35 mph. I have owned four f 350 one ton trucks with over 500,000 miles driven. this is the first time I have had this happen. I was asked by another f350 owner if I had ever had this happen before. I now know WHY IT IS CALLED THE DEATH WOBBLE. I cant believe I made it through this. There...
when i hit a bump or pot hole the truck front end goes out of control at speeds of about 50 to 70 mostly making it shimmy out of control.i have replaced most everything on the front end at my cost and it still does it.what is scary is that you dont know when it is going to happen.this truck is a 350 ford super duty ford with 92464 miles.i understand there is a Defect on the front end of these trucks.this is a big truck to hold when it starts.Someone is going to get killed or kill someone else if they dont get this taken care of and im makeing notice of this problem.
I lost control of the vehicle on the highway due to a "Death Wobble" in the steering system. It threw me into the next lane and I was lucky to survive. This happened on an interstate highway at about 55 MPH. It included violent shaking in the steering after passing over a minor bump in the road and came without warning. Ford replaced the steering damper under warranty. I still get this condition but not as bad as the original. Ford tells me everything looks fine but I am totally uncomfortable with this situation.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the front end of the vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. The contact stated he was able to slow the vehicle down and safely drive the vehicle to his destination. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed steering stabilizer shock. The contact was informed that the stabilizer shock need replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
Hit a rough patch on I95 and steering started shaking uncontrollably at 70 MPH. Didn’t resolve until under 50 MPh. Happened twice.
Truck began to shake violently and did not stop shaking until I slowed to 20 mph. Safety risk of not being able to control the vehicle and having to slow on busy highway. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer. The components have not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. No warnings or other symptoms.
The vehicle goes into a violent shaking of the front end and steering wheel (Ford death wobble). It has happened many times in the last two or so years. It can start at any time when the truck is traveling over 60 MPH but it is usually associated with a bump in the road. It usually stops when I slow to 40-45 MPH. I replaced the track bar ball joint and the steering stabilizer shock and the truck didn't shake for several months but now the problem has returned. When the problem started the truck was probably under 100,000 miles and now has a bit over 130,0000.
The vehicle shakes violently (Death Wobble) when the front wheels hit an uneven highway bridge transition or a large bump in the road causing the truck cab and steering wheel to shake uncontrollably. The truck sometimes veers to the left or right a little bit depending on the position of the wheels when the death wobble begins. I have taken the vehicle back to the dealer three times and the problem has not been corrected. All the front end parts have been replaced with ford motorcraft parts.
Was driving on highway on December 10, 2020 and when entered bridge doing approximately 70 mph experienced extremely violent frontend shaking (death wobble). Had to pull to shoulder of highway and stop to reduce it. This occurred again during same trip under similar conditions. Thought something on frontend had broken, but all seemed to be alright upon visual inspection. Plan to take into Ford dealership on December 12 to have it inspected. Truck has 118,000 miles on it. This is a very dangerous situation as it occurs at higher speeds and could result in accident.
I was going approximately 70mph on the interstate and hit a bump and the vehicle began to shake violently and I had to make an emergency stop in the middle of the interstate to get it back under control! I’ve been told this is the death wobble. The vehicle has approximately 125,000 miles. This was very serious!
This vehicle has developed a severe shaking of the steering wheel at any speed over 55 mph. The violence in the wheel is so bad it has bruised my hand several times. After reading multiple articles I visited the dealer only to be told no recalls existed. I was also advised that the repair would be expensive. After reviewing the NHTSA web site and seeing all the same issues, I feel that Ford should realize and repair the problem before someone gets hurt or worse. The approximate date really doesn’t apply due to the fact it happens every time I drive the vehicle over 55 mph.
I have a 2015 F350 and I have experienced the "Death Wobble" I was hauling my 5th wheel RV and I was going 60 MPH and it felt like my entire front axel was getting ready to fall off my truck. I have my family of 4 in the vehicle. Both of my sons ages 8 and 3 years of age, my wife and myself. It was by far the scariest this I have ever experienced. Ford knows about the problem and still has not issued a recall. I am wanting to file a class action lawsuit.
When I go over 45 mile an hour it has the death wobble. Have almost had a few accidents due to this. What is the fix for this??
I hit a bump in the road while driving about 55 mph and my truck shook violently. It was hard to hold the steering wheel while it was shaking. It was very scary. I thought I was going to crash into another car. There were no warning signs.
3 times in the past year my 2015 F-350 truck started to wobble and shake increasingly after a slight bump at approximately 55 MPH. Once it started, it continued to increase instability and control of the vehicle. I immediately slowed and pulled over carefully to a stop and got out to examine the vehicle. There wasn’t anything I could find externally that I hit that would cause the vehicle to react the way it did. I was able to continue driving without a repeat until several weeks later. This has happened 3 times in the past year.
Driving on interstate transition from East bound on I-10 to AZ 101 North turning left the truck starting shaking and i had no control slowed to around 25 MPH before i had control
Over 5 times my truck become uncontrollable at highway speeds; 60mph or greater. A seam, groove, joint or other minor imperfection in the road instigates a violent shaking from the front of the truck. The only recourse is to jam on the brakes, at which the shaking subsides and control returns at approximately below 40 mph. As this normally happens at highway speeds, the loss and control and spontaneous braking required takes adjacent drivers by surprise very nearly causes an accident. I have owned this truck since it was new and purchase from Tommy Vaughn Ford. I regularly have the vehicle serviced at Hellman Ford in Stafford, TX. I've returned to Helfman 3 times since October 2019 with this problem. Initially they replaced some components which did not help, secondly I was told I needed new tires and that was the cause which I did purchase the next day which...
Extreme steering wheel and front end shake and wobble at 55MPH.
A little over 2 years ago my truck started the death wobble. I didn't know at first what it was but after internet searches I quickly came across the so called "death wobble". I have taken it in to the dealer multiple times They have changed a few parts when taking it in, at my own expense, but never have fixed the problem. It is progressively getting worse and is very dangerous to drive. Not just for me but for the public as well. When the truck starts to do the death wobble there is not much you can do but hold on. Ford should be responsible for fixing the problem with there own.
Every time I hit any sort of bump on the road (I.e the the lip on a highway overpass approach, or any standard road lip or bump) I lose complete control of my truck, it violently shakes and I have to come to a complete stop to get rid of it, which is dangerous when in traffic, I’ve owned the truck for a year and a half and have never been able to fix the problem, the local ford dealership I purchased the truck from said it’s not a listed recall and they can do nothing about it, there is no diagnosable problem that anyone can figure out, I’ve been told these year trucks have this problem, I’ve lost control multiple time with myself and my girlfriend in the vehicle and barely recovered from having many major accidents and being a danger to others driving on the same road as...
While driving several time at highway speed about 50-55mph I hit a bump and my truck goes into a violent shake. The steering wheel shakes and about lose control of the very heavy truck. I have asked the dealer to look at it next week. They said it was known as the "Death Wobble". My truck was shaking so bad I thought something had broke and I was going to wreak. I ask if this was under a recall the dealer said no. It maybe the steering or can purchase a special bracing for the truck. I shouldn't have to correct a manufacture defect.
We were on our way home from a rodeo with our living quarters attached to our pickup and it did the "death wobble" twice on our way home when we hit the bumps on a bridge...luckily no one was behind us because at the area it started to shake we couldnt get pulled over because there was no shoulder so we had to slow to an extremely slow speed in our lane
1st incident happened in May 2020, traveling down a major highway at about 60 mph, hit a bump in the road and the truck went into what is known as the "death wobble" and I had absolutely no control of the steering. I then had to slow down to under 10 mph while still in the lane of traffic, to get the truck under control. I immediately call a mechanic shop and had the truck inspected. I took it to another shop that does suspension and front end alignments and had it looked at. 2nd incident happened today, Sept 28, 2021. Same thing traveling down a major interstate at approximately 70 mph, hit a bump in the road, and again the truck went into the "death wobble". I had no control over the steering and had to come to a complete stop to get the truck under control. This time...
Multiple times: Front end violent shake pulling steering wheel from hands and loosing control at 70 mph. Slammed on brakes just before I hit the center concrete barrier on highway. Driving over a manhole cover on road at 30 mph sent front end again into a built shake causing loss of steering and into oncoming traffic till was able to brake and stop vehicle. Drive great till next bump in road. 11 diesel techs cannot figure out what is wrong! This truck is going to kill someone, what is wrong with it???? Replaced tie rods, track bars, ball joints, wheel bearing, steering dampener, shocks, multiple alignments, caster bolts, ... $4800... in parts and labor so far and continues the exact same death wobble trap!
This truck is extremely dangerous. It has the infamous Ford Death Wobble. When you go across a slight transition or bump at 55-70 mph, the truck goes into a violent wobble in the steering that wont stop until you slow down to 30 or so mph. Ive had several parts replaced on the front end and nothing works. From online forums, Ive recently learned that Ford is ignoring the problem. Please take action because I almost had 2 collisions traveling on the interstate
WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND HIT A INCONSISTENT PLACE IN THE PAVEMENT THE VEHICLE GETS A DEATH WOBBLE. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES VIOLENTLY BACK AND FORTH AND THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK BOUNCES ON THE GROUND. WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE WOBBLE GETS WORSE SO THE VEHICLE HAS TO SLOW DOWN ON ITS OWN WITHOUT APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE SHAKING WILL STOP AROUND 23-28 MILES PER HOUR. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN 6 DIFFERENT TIMES AND THE VEHICLE IS VERY HARD TO KEEP ON THE ROAD WHILE IT IS HAPPENING. THIS IS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I HAVE SLOWLY BEEN HAVING AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC REPLACING FRONT END PARTS TO TRY AND FIX THE PROBLEM WITH NO SUCCESS. I TRY TO AVOID DRIVING THE TRUCK DUE TO THIS ISSUE WHICH HAS HAPPENED FOR THE LAST YEAR. I HAVE VIDEOS ON MY DASH CAMERA WHEN...
WHEN YOU GET PAST 48 MILES PER HOUR THE FRONT END/STEER SHAKES NOTICEABLY. ALSO, WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP/HOLE IN THE ROAD IT SHAKES SO BAD WE HAVE TO PULL OVER NOW. IN CALLING TO GET IT FIXED THE FORD REPAIRMAN KNEW WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT BEFORE WE SAID ANYTHING, BUT STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL ON IT?? ITS DANGEROUS!
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE FRONT END BEGINS TO OSCULATE OR BOUNCE FROM RIGHT WHEEL TO LEFT WHEEL IN A RAPID MOTION COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE". THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES WITHOUT MAKING THE PROBLEM ANY BETTER. POSSIBLY IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE AFTER THE VISITS. THE WOBBLE SEVERELY DIMINISHES CONTROL OF THE 9500LB VEHICLE AND HAS CAUSED ME TO DODGE INTO BARRICADED CONSTRUCTION ZONES AMONG OTHER DANGEROUS MANEUVERS, TO GAIN CONTROL. I HAVE POSTED VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE SHOWING 6 INSTANCES (I HAVE MANY MORE) OF THE WOBBLE AND BELONG TO A RAPIDLY GROWING GROUP OF THOUSANDS OF FORD OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE TYPICALLY TAKES PLACE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN UN-EVEN PAVEMENT IS DRIVEN OVER AND THE LEFT & RIGHT WHEEL DO NOT HIT THE BUMP AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. EXAMPLES WOULD BE A BRIDGE TRANSITION AT A 20-30^ ANGLE OR...
WHILE DRIVING ON 4 LANE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, I ENCOUNTERED THE DEATH WOBBLE. I IMMEDIATELY HAD TO BRAKE AS THERE WAS AN 18 WHEELER COMING UP ON THE PASSING LANE. THIS HAPPENED TWICE ON THIS STRETCH OF HIGHWAY. AFTER READING ALL THE ISSUES REGARDING THE DEATH WOBBLE, ITS TIME FORD DOES A RECALL BEFORE THERE IS A DEATH AND FORD GETS A LAWSUIT.
MY TRUCK IS EXPERIENCING THE "DEATH WOBBLE" WITH ONLY 60K MILES ON IT. WHEN I HIT A BUMP GOING MORE THEN 50 MPH THE FRONT WHEEL SHAKE VIOLENTLY UNTIL I SLOW DOWN. I AM UNABLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING WHEEL.
WHEN ENCOUNTERING ROUGH PAVEMENT WHILE TRAVELING OVER 50 MILES PER HOUR THE FRONT SUSPENSION DEVELOPS A MAJOR AND UNCONTROLLABLE VIBRATION. THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES BACK AND FORTH WHILE THE TRUCK FEELS LIKE IT'S COMING APART. KEEPING THE VEHICLE IN A LANE IS VERY DIFFICULT AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE SHAKING TO STOP IS TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN TO BELOW 25 MILES PER HOUR. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 55,000 MILES ON IT. THIS FIRST OCCURRED IN OCTOBER OF 2020 WHILE MERGING ONTO AN INTERSTATE, THEN TWICE AGAIN IN JANUARY OF 2021. IN RESEARCHING THIS SYMPTOM I'VE READ ABOUT OTHER OWNERS WITH SIMILAR YEAR SUPER DUTY TRUCKS WITH THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOM. IT IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE DEATH WOBBLE. A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH EPIC FORD IN EVERETT WASHINGTON ON FEBRUARY 4TH, 2021 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE DEALER WHO I PURCHASED THE TRUCK...
THE TRUCK GETS THE DEATH WOBBLES SO BAD ITS UNCONTROLLABLE.. HAS DONE THIS SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK.
THE TRUCK HAS THE DEATH WOOBLE. I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO WRECK EVERY TIME IT HAPPENS. GOING 30+ MPH HOUR AND HIT A BUMP THE FRONT WHEELS AND STERRING WHEEL WOOBLE, VIBRATE UNCONTROLLABLY.
WHEN TRAVELING AT 65 MPH OR GREATER AND HIT A BUMP THE STEERING STARTS DOING A VIOLENT WOBBLE WHERE I NEED TO SLOW DOWN TO APPROXIMATE 2025 MILES AN HOUR TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK THIS HAS HAPPENED WEISS WHILE TRANSITIONING ON THE FREEWAY AT EXPANSION JOINTS
THE TRUCK STARTS SHAKING ESPECIALLY BAD IN THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO KNOW AS THE DEATH WOBBLE WHEN I GET UP TO 50MPH AND FASTER. ALSO HAS A HOPPING FEELING AROUND 42 TO 45 MPH. THE SPEED AND EFFECTS ARE THE SAME NO MATTER WHAT ROAD I'M ON.
MY TRUCK HAS 103,000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS STARTED VIOLENTLY SHAKING WHEN I HIT EVEN MINOR BUMPS OR TRANSITIONS/SEAMS IN ROAD, FROM PAVEMENT/BRIDGES/OVERPASSES. IT'S EXTREMELY HARD TO HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES RAPIDLY 4-6' BACK AND FORTH WHILE SHAKING. I'M AFRAID OF LOSING CONTROL OR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. IT WILL NOT STOP SHAKING UNTIL I SLOW DOWN TO 35 MPH, AND THAT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT IN 75 MPH TRAFFIC, FROM CENTER LANES, AND VERY OFTEN THERE IS NO SHOULDER TO SLOW DOWN ONTO, WHEN I'M ON A BRIDGE OR TOP OF OVERPASS. IT HAS HAPPENED AT SPEEDS AS LOW AS 55 MPH, CAN BE TRIGGERED BY A POT HOLE, & ANY BUMPS IN THE PAVEMENT.THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR ANY ROAD OVER 55 MPH. IT HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME 6/21/20 AND HAS HAPPENED NOW EVERY SINGLE TIME...
I HAVE A 2015 F350 WITH 24881 MILES ON IT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" I HAVE READ ABOUT IN RECENT LAWSUIT NEWS ON THE FORD TRUCKS A HANDFUL OF TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TRUCK WILL START SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND I HAD TO SLOW DOWN DRASTICALLY TO GET IT TO STOP. I USE THIS TRUCK MAINLY TO TOW MY BOAT AND IS COMPLETELY IN STOCK FORM. THIS ISN'T SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE HAPPENING TO A 65K STICKER TRUCK WITH LOW MILES AND POSES A SERIOUS DANGER.
DEATH WOBBLE. WHEN THE TRUCK HITS A BUMP OR EVEN JUST A ROUGH ROAD AT 60 MPH OR HIGHER THE STEERING IS UNCONTROLLABLE UNTIL I SLOW DOWN TO 20 MPH. IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND IS DANGEROUS, I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN EVEN WHEN I'M ON THE FREEWAY AND CARS HAVE TO TAKE ACTION TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS LIFE THREATENING
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 65-70 MPH, I DROVE OVER AN OVERPASS TRANSITION ON I-69 IN HOUSTON, WHICH WAS THE EQUIVALENT OF A SMALL BUMP, AND THE TRUCK BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY. ALL LOOSE BELONGINGS IN THE TRUCK WERE SLUNG AROUND IN THE CAB AND EVENTUALLY LANDED ON THE FLOOR, INCLUDING THE DRIVER AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO CONTROL, AND OTHER VEHICLES CLEARED AWAY FROM ME. THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO KEEP WITHIN MY LANE, AND I SWERVED OUT OF CONTROL FROM ONE LANE TO ANOTHER. MY WIFE DROVE THE TRUCK ABOUT 3 DAYS LATER, AND A VERY SIMILAR EVENT OCCURRED AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 55 MPH ON A TEXAS HIGHWAY NORTH OF HOUSTON. SHE SAID THE TRUCK WAS VERY HARD TO CONTROL, AND SHE WAS VERY RATTLED DURING THE EVENT. AT WORK, WE HAVE MANY FOR SUPER DUTIES IN OUR FLEET, AND THE MAJORITY OF THOSE TRUCKS HAVE HAD SIMILAR...
MY TRUCK STARTED DOING THE DEATH WOBBLE WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. I OWNED A FORD DEALERSHIP FROM 1993 TO 1998. I'VE BEEN DRIVING F350 TRUCKS GOR 40 YEARS. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. FORD MUST DO SOMETHING TO GIX THE PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING ON I80 WHILE GOING 70 MILES AN HOUR I HIT A SMALL LIP ON THE BRIDGE. I'VE PRETTY MUCH QUIT DRIVING MY TRUCK BECAUSE IT IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN.
WHEN TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY ABOVE 60 MPH THE VEHICLE CAN DEVELOP A VIOLENT FRONT END SHIMMY AFTER HITTING A SMALL BUMP, POTHOLE, OR BRIDGE TRANSITION. UPON RESEARCH, THIS HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A FORD SUPERDUTY DEATH WOBBLE. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER ALREADY TWICE, AND SO FAR AFTER SPENDING $855 AND NOW THEY ARE ASKING FOR $670 MORE TO FIX A PROBLEM THAT THEY CANNOT GUARANTEE WILL BE RESOLVED. THIS ISSUE IS WELL DOCUMENTED ONLINE AND I AM VERY WORRIED WITH MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THE CARS AROUND ME WHEN THIS VIBRATION OCCURS. THE ONLY TO REGAIN CONTROL, IS TO RAPIDLY SLOW TO ~ 40MPH. THIS IN ITSELF IS DANGEROUS IN 5 LANE CITY TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR. PLEASE CONTACT ME AT [XXX] AS PROOF THAT THIS REPORT HAS BEEN VIEWED. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
