The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon exiting the vehicle and attempting to lock the doors using the door lock buttons on the driver’s side panel, the doors failed to lock. The contact stated that the failure was occasional. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS FAILED TO OPEN BECAUSE THE DOOR LATCHES WERE FROZEN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS OPENED IN WARMER WEATHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WICKSTROM FORD (600 W NORTHWEST HWY, BARRINGTON, IL 60010) WHERE THEY APPLIED GREASE ON THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A STRONGER GREASE WOULD BE APPLIED TO THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
F150, WITH BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES THE DO NOT ENGAGE AND STAY CLOSED. THE JUST BOUNCES OFF LATCHING. THIS LEAVE DRIVER TO TIE DOOR CLOSED WITH ROPE OR CORDS JUST TO GET TO WORK OR HOME. HAD DEALER PREFORM 18N03 BUT SAME ISSUE WITH SAME DOOR EXISTS. DEALER SEEMS OBLIVIOUS TO ISSUE DESPITE A VERY LARGE ONLINE AWARENESS OF THIS ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2017 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR FAILED TO SHUT AND THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHILE IDLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANDY MOHR FORD (2713 E MAIN ST, PLAINFIELD, IN 46168, (317) 839-6541), BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,450. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
