The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the parking assist fault warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed wiring harness. The contact was informed that a wire from the wiring harness was burned. In addition, the contact was informed that if the wire continued burning it might start a fire. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The claim for the repair was denied. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

I received an alert on the dash stating there was an issue with the blind spot monitoring/rear cross traffic system. It was erroring off and on for that entire drive. When I got home, I googled the issue and it appears it's a known issue with '21 and some early '22 broncos where they factory installed the blind spot module wiring harness too close to the rear bumper. Over time, the wires rub and eventually rub bare and corrode or short out. I went out to take a look and sure enough, I had rubbed through on the driver side (photo) and the passenger side was nearly rubbed through. I have an extended warranty and it's at the dealership today. This is a manufacturing defect and should be covered (even if out of warranty) in my opinion. We will see what kind of story the dealer can come up with...

Bronco wire corrosion cross traffic refers to a known issue where wiring under the rear bumper, often for the blind spot/cross-traffic sensors, chafes, frays, and corrodes, causing system faults and failures, sometimes due to design flaws or environmental exposure to salt, requiring inspection and repair of the harness. This problem triggers error messages like "Cross Traffic System/Blind Spot System Fault" in the instrument cluster, impacting safety features, with potential fixes involving harness repair, protective sheathing, or sensor replacement. My car’s wiring was corroded due to this flaw and required a repair exceeding $1,000.

Location of wiring from the factory for Blind Spot Warning and Cross Traffic Alert systems is not protected. The wiring has frayed and broken due to the wiring being unprotected, loose and rubbing on the rear bumper, causing the systems to not function. This is a blatant design defect from the factory, causing two safety systems to fail. Reporting now as, to the best of my knowledge, the manufacturer has not issued a TSB or recall and dealerships have acknowledged the issue.

I was driving on the highway at a speed of approximately 70 miles per hour when the Bronco driver screen gave multiple warning notices and at the same time, the accelerator would not react. Steering power was fine. I was in the second from far left lane on a six lane highway and losing speed quickly. I was able to move to the right and drift to the side of the road without incident. Once stopped, I turned the ignition off and waited a few seconds and then turned it back on again. The error messages all cleared and the Bronco accelerator reacted appropriately. I drove it straight to the dealership for inspection. They found the 210 connector was not making a good connection. They cleaned it and added electric grease and reconnected. Everything cleared and the connection was deemed good. I have not worked in the Bronco engine compartment...

I have been getting a message that my blind spot and cross traffic alert deactivated because trailer is attached. I have never had a trailer attached but do have a trailer hitch- the dealer said Ford refuses to pay to have it fixed because the bumper to bumper warranty is out. the car has been garaged and has only 9,000 miles on it. This is a safety issue that I think they should cover as I have no blind spot or cross traffic warnings.

Windows are constantly getting uninitialized so that they don't bump down on opened to allow them to close properly with the frameless doors. This leaves a gap when closed and additionally they will automatically go all the way back down any time they are rolled all the way up. This is very hazardous when driving and needing to close the windows as you're forced to look backwards to see when they get close to the stop and release the button before it hits the top. This was reported to Ford on greater than 10 occasions since I took possession in Jan of 2022, first in March of 20222, and impacts all 4 windows. The dealer can resolve the issue by reinitializing through the computer they can plug into the vehicle and have installed some software updates as well as replaced some of the modules but the issue resurfaces a few...

Cross traffic and blind spot monitoring/alert failed. Electrical wiring failed due to rubbing on the rear bumper causing failure of blind spot alert and cross traffic alert systems. Reliance on these systems is critical to safe operation of the vehicle.

While driving and completely randomly, multiple critical errors appear on the display, and vehicle goes into limp mode. The errors is play in order as follows: 4x4 Off -Service Vehicle Soon -Service advance Trac -Check 4x4 -Pre-collision assist not available -Service advance track After the errors appear, the vehicle goes into limp mode, no longer being responsive to the accelerator pedal. After putting the vehicle in park and turning it off, then restarting, the vehicle works with no errors. After 5 or so minutes this happens again. It has occured multiple times while driving, placing me in dangerous situation, because once in limp mode, I'm unable to accelerate to the side of the road. By vehicle has been at a Ford dealership for over 8 weeks now. The dealership is able to reproduce this issue. They have done some exploratory repairs by replacing the pedal assembly and throttle body but...

The front camera is blacked out about 50% of the time when in reverse or when activating the camera system on my Bronco. I have had it into the dealership multiple times for this issue and they continue to tell me there is a over the air (OTA) fix coming soon. The last time they told me this was in Q2 2024 saying that a fix was coming by year end 2024. I am still waiting for this fix and it causes me some distress that I am unable to completely see around my vehicle when parking or in tight spaces. This is separate and distinct from the rear camera issue that was fixed in 2024.

I have a new issue with my Bronco. While it drives well most of the time, I now regularly encounter a problem where multiple error messages pop up on the screen (sequentially) while I am driving, causing the vehicle to effectively, stop responding. The engine remains on, and I don't lose power to the brakes or steering, but the car won't react when I press the gas pedal. It seems like it's some critical failure safety measure, though feels critically unsafe when it occurs. When surrounded by other vehicles, at speed, I am forced to coast to a stop (with a prayer). Usually, when I put it in park, turn off the vehicle, and get out, it will reset all of the errors and work again. This situation is quite dangerous, especially when I'm around other cars. I contacted Ford, but they fit me in for two weeks. Here are...

Car began flashing multiple warnings including power steering, brakes, basically all warnings. Power steering and brakes both failed. Took to dealership. Found wires and wire harnesses burnt and melted. Delaliship says it was due to a pinched wire on an after market winch however the winch was installed in 2022 and never had any issue before. They cited damage underneath on the skid plate which is very minor in nature and should not be able to cause such egregious errors.

2021 FORD BRONCO MILES: 34,247 BOTH REAR CALIPERS ON THE INSIDE "LOCKED" AND CAUSED IRREGULAR PAD WEARING ON THE INSIDE. I AM CONCERNED THE ROOT CAUSE MAY BE A CALIPER ISSUE OR ELECTRONIC BRAKE ISSUE NOT RELEASING THE BRAKE COMPONENTS. REAR OUTSIDE BRAKE PADS AT 80% REAR INSIDE BRAKE PADS AT 2% VEHICLE FIRST LOOKED AT BY A LOCAL MECHANIC 3 WEEKS AGO. FORD DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE TODAY 11/27/24. THERE WAS ONE WARNING 2 WEEKS AGO THAT THE BRAKE WAS FAULTY AND TO CONTACT A DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY. THE REAR BRAKES ARE NECESSARY TO SAFETLY STOP THE VEHICLE. I AM CONCERNED THAT I WILL NEED TO CONTINUALLY NEED TO MONITOR THE REAR BRAKE COMPONENTS REGULARLY IN ORDER TO SAFELY OPERATE MY VEHICLE OR THAT THE CALIPERS WILL "STICK" AGAIN CAUSING THE ISSUE TO BE ONGOING. WAY SCARFF FORD CURRENTLY HAS THE VEHICLE AND HAS RECOMMENDED ME TO REPLACE THE REAR CALIPERS,...

The prime screen fails, will not enable any system updates, interconnectivity via bluetooth devices fails...basically everything to do with the primary screen fails. We have documentation to show multiple visits to the dealership that have not been able to fix it. Most recently the dealer has a full screen replacement parts on backorder. They state they have no idea when the backorder will be resolved as they believe the factory will not ship the parts until they are no longer having quality control issues. This has been numerous visits to the deal on the same issue so we need to invoke the lemon law to address this problem.

Four hours into a drive today, going down a fairly steep hill @ ~30mph into a 4 point intersection my Bronco lost all power, brakes and steering. I mean it had nothing. We barely made it thru the intersection because the cars coming directly at us slammed brakes. I had no control and went off the road into someone’s yard, barely missing their fence. It was the scariest thing we’ve ever encountered. My son in the back screaming STOP at the top of his lungs is burned in my brain. What makes all of this worse is that Ford just had it in the shop for 3 days because the week before when they had my Bronco in the shop for yearly inspection/oil change and under their care it had the first symptoms of this issue. I received an app notice of a battery failure AND at their request because...

On 2 separate occasions over the past 3 days the vehicle has lost total operability. All functions, lights, locks, etc cease and are unable to simply restart the vehicle. The first occurrence was on a busy highway in poor weather conditions causing a near accident/collision. It appears some electrical malfunction shits off all working of the vehicle only to recover 5-10min later. A brake failure signal was shown on second occurrence. This is a definite life-threatening defect needing prompt investigation and remedy.

We were on vacation in Miami, Florida in February 2022 driving in stop and go traffic when our 2021 Ford Bronco with 2.7L Ecoboost engine suddenly shut down. The entire electrical system shut down and the emergency brake was applied. We were unable to start the vehicle with the ignition button or key fob. Traffic was backing up behind us and we couldn’t put our hazards on to let them know we were having vehicle trouble. A pedestrian tried assisting us with pushing the vehicle but due to the parking brake being applied it wouldn’t move. As a last ditch effort I decided to try to start the vehicle through the Ford Pass app. Thankfully, that worked and the vehicle started. We called a dealership in Miami to see if they could look at the vehicle before we traveled on to Key West. They were unable to get us in...

1. Vehicle Issue. -At approximately 2k miles while driving through severe weather in the Rocky Mountains my New Bronco lost ALL electronic driving systems that controlled driving modes including 4 wheel drive modes(GOAT) along with safety systems such as traction control, sensor systems, and cruise control. I was forced to drive through a white out in Rocky Mountains with 2 wheel drive due to the electronic GOAT modes failing. This was a dangerous situation as the systems I was relying on failed me when I needed them most. These systems failed off and on for the next three months before mysteriously subsiding. 2. Attempts to resolve. - Took vehicle to Ford dealer to identify issue and they said there was no record of these failures in the code system which is extremely concerning. If I had gone off the road and injured myself and or died Ford would attempt to...

The Wiper Motor or electrical controlling the Wiper Motor. When the two high wiper blade settings are selected, the wipers run for around 30-40 seconds, then slow down and eventually stop. You can watch it happen. This has happened while having snow and rain on my windshield. In order to get them to start going again full speed you need to turn the switch. I feel this takes my focus off of the road during unfriendly road conditions and puts me and others at risk. The condition has been reproduced by my dealership and I have had my truck to the dealership twice for this problem. The first time they replaced the motor and the second time they said they couldn't fix it. They compared it to another one on the dealers lot and it did the same thing. They said if a bulletin came out on the problem, they...
