WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 DODGE 3500 RAM 6.7L DUAL, 6SPD MANUAL, PULLING MY CAMPER (WELL WITHIN TOWING LIMITS,) I WENT OVER A BUMP ON AN OVERPASS. THE VEHICLE BEGAN JUMPING AROUND VIOLENTLY AND I LEFT THE ROADWAY DUE TO LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKE FUNCTION. THE EVEN WAS SO VIOLENT, MY RADIATOR BROKE, AND I LOST ALL OF MY COOLANT. MY "FRONT END" WAS DESTROYED, AS WELL AS MANY SYSTEMS DAMAGED. THE INTERIOR OF THE TRUCK SUFFERED DAMAGE AS WELL. THERE ARE MANY NOISES, VIBRATIONS, AND SMELLS THAT HAVE NOT GONE AWAY. I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM SO COMMON, THAT IT HAS A NICKNAME, "THE DEATH WOBBLE." I FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL BEGINNING THE YEAR AFTER MY MODEL. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, MY MODEL YEAR HAS THE SAME PARTS DESCRIBED IN THE AFFECTED MODEL YEARS. THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE, SEEMINGLY WELL KNOWN TO...
WHEN HITTING A BUMP OR DIP IN THE ROAD AT 65 MPH OR HIGHER THE STEERING WHEEL BEGINS SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I'M TOLD IT IS REFERRED TO AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE".
DEATH WOBBLE EVEN AFTER REPLACEING THE FRONT END COMPONENTS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR YEARS.
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY, WHEN I'M AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK SHAKES AND BOUNCES UNCONTROLLABLY UNTIL I SLOW TO AROUND 50 MPH. I HAVE HAD BALL JOINTS, TIE RODS, SHOCKS AND STEERING STABILIZER REPLACED, PLUS NEW TIRES AND MULTIPLE ALIGNMENTS PERFORMED. MY MASTER MECHANIC SAID NON OF THIS WILL REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE Y TYPE STEERING SETUP IS THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER TOLD ME IT NEEDS TO BE UPDATED TO THE 09 STEERING BUT IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. YET YOU CAN NO LONGER EVEN BUY THE Y STEERING FROM THE DEALER THE WILL ONLY SELL YOU THE 09 T STYLE. HOW IS THIS OK? I DO NOT HAVE $265.00 TO PAY FOR JUST THE PARTS NEVER MIND LABOR, BECAUSE THE P.O.S. TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACE "$7500.00" LIKE EVERY OTHER 47RE IN THE WORLD. ALSO 3 OUT...
VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY AFTER HITTING SMALL BUMP WITH RIGHT FRONT TIRE AT 50 MPH. EXTREMELY HARD TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE. HAD TO SLOW TO UNDER 30 MPH TO GET SHAKING TO STOP AND REGAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 3500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO JERK FROM SIDE TO SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE POWER STEERING BOX, THE POWER STEERING PUMP, THE LONG ARM, THE SHORT ARM, AND THE PITMAN ARMS, AND THE STABILIZER SHOCKS BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 3500. WITHOUT WARNING, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE FRACTURED WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL WOBBLED EXCESSIVELY AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNSTABLE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL ARMS AND DRIVER SIDE TIE ROD FRACTURED. THE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT BOTH TIE RODS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 13V528000 (STEERING), 11V350000 (STEERING), 10E013000 (STEERING), AND 07E009000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 DODGE RAM 3500. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIGOROUSLY SHAKE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DOWNSHIFTED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V528000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
TRUCKED CROSSED OVER SEAM IN ROADWAY AND STARTED TO SHAKE IE SHIMMY SO BAD AS TO MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK I REPLACED THE TRACK BAR WITH A NEW PART PROBLEM STILL THERE.FELT LIKE MIGHT BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE SO I CHANGED THE RIGHT TIE ROD END PROBLEM STILL THERE.I CHECKED AIR PRESSURE IN TIRES STILL NO RELIEF FROM DODGE DEATH WOBBLE. CHECKED ONLINE FOUND A AD FOR A STEERING BOX STABILIZER ORDERED IT AND INSTALLED IT SEEMS TO OF HAD THE MOST EFFECT STILL HAS A SLIGHT WOBBLE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE FINAL FIX IS.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V528000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DATE AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000.
TRUCK STEERING AND SUSPENSION SHAKE WHEN TRAVELING OVER BUMPS OR TRAVELING AT CERTAIN SPEEDS. MULTIPLE MECHANICS HAVE EXPLAINED THAT THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK IS UNSAFE. AFTER FINDING THAT THIS IS SUCH A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH RAM TRUCKS, IT SEEMS THAT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN COVERED UP BY DODGE AS THEY WILL NOT ASSIST IN THE COST TO REPLACE THE FAULTY GEOMETRY THAT CAUSES SLOPPY STEERING COMPONENTS. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT I REPLACE THE TIE ROD AND DAMPER, AND YET THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING IT WITH A COMPLETELY UPGRADED PART THAT WILL BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. I ALSO CAN NOT GET THIS PART BECAUSE IT CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL ON THE PART, SO I AM STUCK WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO FIX MY TRUCK. *TR

VERY FEW DODGE 2500 AND 3500 OWNERS GET 100,000 MILES OF THEM BEFORE PARTS HAVE TO BE REPLACED (BALL JOINTS AND SWAY BARS) I LOVE MY DODGES BUT HATE THE WEAK FRONT ENDS! I DO HAVE VIDEO OF THE SHAKE. I WAS DRIVING AND HIT A BUMPY PLACE IN THE ROAD AND THE WHOLE TRUCK STARTED SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY. I HAD TO STOP ON THE FREEWAY BEFORE I COULD GET IT UNDER CONTROL. I LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND NEARLY CRASHED. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT SEEMED AS IF A TIRE HAD BLOWN, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. I NOW AM TOLD THAT THE TIE RODS NEED TO BE REPLACED. DODGE AND TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME IT IS DUE TO "FAILED TIE RODS" NOT CONNECTED WITH CHRYSLER'S NOTIFICATION CODE H46. DODGE SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL NOTICE ON THIS ISSUE, AS IT APPEARS TO HAVE HAPPENED TO MANY OTHERS MANY TIMES, AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. I PURCHASED A NEW 2007 DODGE 3500 , THAT STARTED TO FAIL IN MANY AREAS OF THE VEHICLE, BEFORE THE 10,000 MILE MARK. FREEDOM DODGE HERE IN LEXINGTON KENTUCKY DELIBERATELY EXECUTED INSURANCE FRAUD TO BLAME CLUTCH FAILURE ON A MINOR COLLISION THAT NEVER BUSTED A LIGHT, RADIATOR, ETC. AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AFTER COLLISION. BEFORE THE ACCIDENT I NOTICED CLUTCH SLIPPING, TRUCK TIRES BEGAN TO WEAR AT AN EXTREME RATE, AND VIBRATIONS WAS BECOMING AN INCREASING PROBLEM. I THEN TOOK THE TRUCK TO FREEDOM DODGE WHERE THEY BLAMED ALL ON MINOR COLLISION, IN WHICH I TURNED TO GEICO FOR REIMBURSEMENT. GEICO FOUGHT DODGE ON THIS ISSUE, THEN FREEDOM DODGE WENT BACK ON THEIR PREVIOUS DOCUMENTATION AND BLAMED THE FAILURES ON ME, AND DOCUMENTED THAT. I HAVE DOCUMENTS OF THEM GOING BACK ON THEIR PREVIOUS DOCUMENTATION. I HAVE ALL DOCUMENTATION TO SUPPORT ALL, WHILE PAYING A HIGH PAYMENT FOR THIS...

ON JANUARY 17, 2008, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND SLID INTO A DITCH. HE WAS ABLE TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND DRIVE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WILL TRADE IN HIS VEHICLE BECAUSE HE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE WITH HIS PREVIOUS 2007 DODGE RAM.
