SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH 2005 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN.... *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE EXHAUST PIPE PROTRUDES BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. THE CHILD MAY TOUCH THIS PIPE. UPDATED 5/10/2006 - THE EXHAUST PIPE PROTRUDES BELOW THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE AND IS TOO CLOSE TO THE OUTSIDE EDGE (ROCKER PANEL). THE PIPE IS LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHICH IS THE SIDE THE CONSUMER CHILD SAFETY SEAT IS INSTALLED. WHEN THE SLIDING DOOR IS OPENED THE CHILD COULD BE BURNED BY THE PIPE. THE CONSUMER INDICATED THAT THE PIPE IS ONLY LIKE THIS ON THE STOW AND GO MODEL GRAND CARAVAN. UPDATED 5/10/2006 - THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND REROUTED. THE ENGINE RAN ROUGH WHILE IDLING AND IN PARK. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS ERRATIC. AT 1/4 OF A TANK OR LESS THE NEEDLE MOVES BACK AND FORTH FROM EMPTY TO 1/4 OF A TANK. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP WAS ALERTED NO APPOINTMENT WAS MADE FOR INSPECTION.
ON JAN 22,05 I HAD MY 05' DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IN THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAD COME ON, THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED MY SENSOR ALONG W/ MY WIRING HARNESS, WELL ON FEB 26 06 MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, THE DEALERSHIP DEAL MAKER SAID I COULD BRING MY CAR IN BUT I'LL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TO BE CHECKED ALONG W/ ANY REPAIR, AND THIS IS BECAUSE MY WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. I DON'T FEEL I AM RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR ANY REPAIR ON THIS. NONE THE LESS FOR THEM TO SUPPOSEDLY REPLACE MY SENSOR LAST YEAR, ALONG W/ MY WIRING HARNESS AND SPARK PLUGS BEAUSE OF MISFIRING ETC. TO HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR USED IN NOV OF 04 AND THEN TO HAVE IT IN ON JAN 05 IS A LITTLE RIDICULOUS. I HAVE 40 SOME THOUSAND MILES ON MY CAR. AND THIS ISSUE SHOULD OF...
MY 2005 DODGE CARAVAN IS 9 MONTHS OLD AND ONE DAY I'M DRIVING AND MY ENGINE STARTS MAKING A TAPPING NOISEAND THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON. THE NEXT DAY (MONDAY) I TAKE IT TO STAFFORD DODGE DEALER (ROBERT STOCKING). THEY TELL ME I HAVE LESS THAN 1 QT OF OIL IN MY CAR SO I NEED TO HAVE MY ENGINE BLOCK REPLACED. I INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP THAT I HAD MY OIL CHANGED 1 MONTH AGO BY JIFFY LUBE, AND ALSO HAD CHECKED MY OIL 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE INCEDENT AND MY OIL WAS AT THE MAX LINE. THE DEALERSHIP CONTACTED DAIMLER CHRYSLER (STEVE SHOOF) AND INFORMED THEM ON WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND CHYRSLER DENIED THE CLAIM, THEREFORE, I WAS STUCK PAYING $5,070 PLUS $500 FOR A RENTAL CAR FOR TWO WEEKS WHILE MY CAR WAS BEING REPAIRED.
