VEHICLE SOUNDS AS IF IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF WHEN STANDING IDLE SOMETIMES AND EVEN SOMETIMES AS I'M SLOWING DOWN. AND RECENTLY TOOK A ROAD TRIP HAD TROUBLE WITH CRUISE CONTROL AS IF IT WAS ACCELERATING ON IT'S ON OR GETTING STUCK. I CHECKED MY VIN NUMBER AND FOUND NO PARTICULAR RECALLS SPECIFIC TO THE VIN. HOWEVER, I RECEIVED AN EMAIL THAT THE CHRYSLER 200 ITSELF HAD RECALLS RELATING TO ELECTRICAL, STEERING AND OVERALL SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEMS I'VE BEEN HAVING SEEM TO BE CLOSELY RELATED TO THOSE SPECIFIED IN RECALL
1.CAR WAS PULLING INTO FAST FOOD RESTURANT - SLOWED, IT STALLED ALL POWER WAS GONE.FINALLY STARTED AFTER ABOUT A 10 MINUTE DELAY. THIS TYPE OF STALL HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES. 2. CAR WAS SLOWING FOR INTERSECTION LIGHT ON THE OVERPASS BRIDGE AT 127 & M 50. CAR STALLED. TRAFFIC WAS BACKED UP, TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO START. THIS STALL ON A BUSY ROAD HAPPENED 1 TIME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH AND APPROACHING A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE STALLED. WHILE RELEASING THE PARK BUTTON, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE SERVICE AIR BAG SYSTEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALAN JAY CHRYSLER DODGE RAM JEEP (202 W SUGARLAND HWY, CLEWISTON, FL 33440, (863) 983-4600) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE OF THE DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,658.
WHILE IN MOTION MY CAR HAS STOPPED RUNNING ON 5 DIFFERENT TIMES, 3 OUT OF THE 5 TIMES I WAS IN CRUSIE CONTROL DRIVING ON THE HWY WHEN I LOST ALL CONTROL. THE OTHER 2 TIMES WAS IN TOWN AT A LOW SPEED. CAR IS ON BUT WONT GO ANY WHERE, ITS STUCK IN DRIVE THE ALARMS AND SEVERAL LIGHTS ON THE DASH COME ON RPM WILL RUM UP TO ABOUT 2000 BUT STILL WONT DO ANYTHING ELSE. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SHIFTING HARD AND DRIVING HARD, QUITE A BIT HAD IT SERVICED 3TIMES, TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED THERE WAS A HOLE IN IT THAT CAME FROM INTERNAL. AIR BAG WIRING HARNAS HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL, HEAD LIGHT HARNEST HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO WIRES WERE SHORTING OUT MY BATTERY, IGINTION HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL DUE TO THE WIRING AND PROGRAM.
VEHICLE STALL WHEN TURNING. OIL PRESSURE POS UP AS LOW EVEN THOUGH OIL GAUGE SAYS FULL. CAR STRUGGLES TO GET IN GEAR. CAR SHUTS OFF WHEN MAKING A TURN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHRYSLER 200. WHILE DRIVING 45-50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER APPROXIMATELY FIVE MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LANDMARK DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (6850 MT ZION BLVD, MORROW, GA 30260, (770) 968-4900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR FAILED, AND THE OIL WAS LOW. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 34043687. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 480.
THE ENGINE MAKE A LOUD NOISE SOUNDS SO BIZARRE I'VE TOOK IT TO SEVERAL MECHANIC SHOPS BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DETECT THE ISSUE.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING CAUSING YOU TO STOP, PLACE IN PARK AND RESTART. UPON TRYING TO RESTART IT STRUGGLES TO TURN OVER. SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING WITH THE CAR HAS SAT FOR AWHILE AND IS COLD. THE TEMP GAUGE SHOWS NOTHING ON IT. I KNOW THE CAR WILL STALL. IF THERE IS A LINE OR MORE ON THE TEMP GAUGE ON THE DASHBOARD IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY ISSUES. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO NOT SHIFTING FROM GEAR TO GEAR PROPERLY. IT SEEMS TO NOT CATCH WHEN IT SHOULD GO TO THE NEXT GEAR. THE CAR WILL JERK.
2016 CHRYSLER 200. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE STARTING HARD AND ROUGH, ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND FRONT PASSENGER DOOR SHUTTING HARD. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD MULTIPLE FAILURES INCLUDING THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGING ON IT'S OWN, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKING, WIRING SYSTEMS, THE AIR CONDITIONER AND TRANSMISSION RUPTURED. THE POWERTRAIN, CONTROL MODULE, COMPRESSOR, ETC CONDENSER WAS LOCKED. THE VEHICLE STARTS HARD. THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE ON START UP. THE TIRE CAME OFF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LURCH FORWARD. THE LOWER BALL JOINT FAILED. THERE WAS BODY A RIM DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE REPAIR SHOP FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. *JS
MY 2016 CHRYSLER 200 WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW, HAS ONLY 15000 MILES. WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. DASHBOARD PROMPT SAYS PUT IN PARK TO START.CAR WON'T START UNTIL AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS AND IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND SEVERAL NEAR MISSED REAR ENDERS CAR STARTED BUT STUTTERING AND NO POWER. FINALLY AFTER SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC FOR 5 OR 10 MINUTES ENGINE SMOOTHED OUT. NO WARNING AT ALL. EXTREMELY SCARY AND DANGEROUS, BOTH TIMES CAR WAS IN MOTION TURNING ONTO A BUSY STREET IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF FOR NO REASON. DEALERSHIP SAID OIL CHANGE WAS NEEDED BUT OIL LIFE GAUGE SAID 51% AND OIL CHANGE WASN'T DUE FOR ANOTHER 500 MILES.TECH.AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A SAFETY FEATURE. I DON'T SEE ANYTHING SAFE ABOUT THE ENGINE SHUTTING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. VERY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS. SHOULD BE A RECALL...
SINCE I'VE BOUGHT THE CAR, UPON ACCELERATING, STOPPING, PRETTY MUCH DOING ANY DRIVING THE CAR WILL BUBBLE UNDER AND JERK AS IF YOU'RE MANUALLY SWITCHING SHIFTS. IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE OVER THE 2 YEARS I'VE OWNED THIS CAR AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO HELP BECAUSE THERE'S NO "CODE" THAT FINDS THE PROBLEM. MY CAR ALSO, WILL LOCK THE WHEEL WHILE I'M DRIVING, LOCK THE BRAKE AND GAS AND TURN COMPLETELY OFF AS IF THE BATTERY DIED AND I CAN'T PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL OR ANYTHING SINCE IT IS LOCKED. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED MY TO BE IN MULTIPLE VEHICLE CRASHES. THE CAR IS NOW SHAKING AND STILL HAVING A BUBBLY FEEL UNDER THE CAR AS IF IT'S HAVING A HARD TIME STARTING UP WHILE I'M DRIVING.
CAR KEEPS SHUTTING OFF RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. CAR IS AT 36738 MILES. I WAS MID TURN AND CAR JUST CUT OFF AND SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. COULD HAVE BEEN HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES BUT THEY HAD ENOUGH TIME TO GO AROUND CAR STALLED IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. PUT CAR IN PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART 3 TIMES BEFORE IT CAME BACK ON.
MY CAR MAKES THIS LOUD NOISE WHEN THE ENGINE IS ON AND THE COOLANT METER REACHES ONE BAR ON THE SCREEN AND I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM BUT ITS NOT NORMAL. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME ITS NOT A PROBLEM THE CAR IS SUPPOSE TO MAKE THAT NOISE BUT I DON'T REALLY BELIEVE HIM. THAT NOISE IS VERY LOUD
VEHICLE IS STALLING, COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF, LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS DONE IT AS 20MPH, 45MPH, GOING STRAIGHT, TURNING LEFT, TURNING RIGHT. THERE IS NO NOTIFICATION THAT THIS IS HAPPENING. THE ONLY THING I CAN TELL IT'S HAPPENING IS IT LOOSES POWER, STEERING LOCKS UP AND THE CAR DASH SAYS "SHIFT TO P TO START VEHICLE". WHEN I DO THAT, THE CAR TAKES AT LEAST 30-456 SECONDS TO COMPLETELY START BACK UP AND RUNNING. IT ACTS LIKE IT DOES NOT WANT TO START BACK UP. I HAVE TRAVELLED COUNTY ROADS, CITY STREETS, HIGHWAYS AND IT HAS DONE IT ON EACH ONE OF THEM. THIS IS NOT OK AND SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE BLOWN OFF WITH NO RECALL. I HAVE 2 SMALL CHILDREN THAT IS 99.9% OF THE TIME IN THE CAR WITH ME. I CAN NOT HAVE THIS CONTINUE TO HAPPEN WITH NOTHING BEING DONE OR RESOLVED OF...
WE OWN A 2016 CHRYSLER 200 WITH A 4 CYLINDER ENGINE THAT IS BURNING ONE QUART OF OIL EVERY 750 MILES. WE ARE TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT CHRYSLER ENGINEERS SAY IT IS ACCEPTABLE FOR THAT ENGINE TO USE A QUART OF OIL IN 750 TO 1000 MILES. THE ENGINE HAS DONE THIS SINCE IT WAS NEW. THEY REPLACED FOULED SPARK PLUGS AND EVEN COMPLETE CYLINDERS ON THE CAR. THE LAST TIME MY WIFE WAITED UNTIL THE RECOMMENDED OIL CHANGE IT HAD USED 5 QUARTS. THE DEALER IS STILL GIVING US THE RUN AROUND AS IS MR STANDER AT CHRYSLER USA AND SERGIO MARCHIONI WHO CALLED THE DESIGNERS OF THE ENGINE 'DUMMIES'. RECALL THESE CARS NOW
THE ENGINE IN OUR CHRYSLER 200 LOSES OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. THE CAR EVENTUALLY STALLS AND WILL NOT RESTART. WE ARE TOLD EVERY TIME 'NO OIL SHOWS ON THE DIPSTICK. IT IS AGAIN IN THE SHOP HAVING BEEN TOWED THERE BECAUSE IT LOST SO MUCH OIL IT WOULD NOT START. THE DEALER IS DEFIANT BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT HAS REFUSED TO ACT AND RECALL THE 2016 FOR THE SAME REASONS THAT PROMPTED A RECALL OF THE 2015 CHRYSLER 200. IS IT GOING TO TAKE CONSUMER FATALITIES BEFORE THE NHSTA ACTS. TECALL THESE CARS NOW !
MY CAR CONTINUES TO STALL WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, LOCKING EVERYTHING UP. I HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK. PRESS THE STOP ENGINE BUTTON, PLACE MY FOOT IN THE BRAKE, PRESS THE START BUTTON,THE ENGINE WHINES, TRIES TO START, WINDS AGAIN THEN CHUGS A FEW TIMES. AFTER DOING THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN, THE CAR WILL EVENTUALLY START. JUST TO DO IT AGAIN. WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALER, THEY TOLD MY CAR WAS "ALMOST OUT OF OIL" AFTER WHICH THEY HAD DONE THE LAST OIL CHANGE CLAIMING TO HAVE USED SYNTHETIC OIL. IF THAT WAS THE CASE, HOW DOES A 2016 CAR BURN 4-5 QUARTS OF SYNTHETIC OIL AND THEM NOT BE ABLE TO TELL ME WHY. I SEE THE RECALL FOR 2015 200'S MATCHING EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY 2016.
CAR HAS SHUT DOWN AT LEAST 4 TO 5 TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS LUCKILY. THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS BY OTHER CHRYSLER 200 OWNERS ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM BUT YET THERE HAS BEEN NO RESOLUTION.
WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN GOING BETWEEN 15 TO 20 MPH AND THE VEHICLE JUST DIED OUT IN THE TURNING PROCESS.WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS
VEHICLE HAS A HARD TIME CHANGING GEARS. WHEN SPEEDING UP VEHICLE JERKS HARD AND MAKES LOUD NOICE IN TRANMISSION AREA. PASSENGERS HAVE NOTICED HOW IT STRUGGLES TO CHANGE GEARS. HAVE TAKEN INTO TO DEALER BUT THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM. IT ALSO SEEMS TO SURGE RANDOMLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP. AFRAID I'LL HIT CAR IN FRONT OF ME. ALSO DEALER NOT ABLE TO REPAIR.
A FEW TIMES PULLING OUT INTO THE TRAFFIC THE CAR WOULD FAIL TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, SOME TIMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SEEMS AS IF ITS DYING OR LOOSING POWER. IT IS ALSO RATTLING WHEN I CRANK IT UP. THE OTHER THING IS THAT THE TRANSMISSION WHILE ACCELERATING SEEMS TO TAKE A WHILE TO SWITCH GEARS AND THEN THE CAR JERKS REALLY HARD WHEN IT FINALLY SHIFT GEARS. I'VE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY JUST SAID THAT THEY CHECKED IT AND CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT THAT THEY HAVE HAD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS BUT THAT "ITS JUST THE FACT THAT THE CAR IS A 4 CYLINDER." IT'S VERY SCARY PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC.
TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND CAN'T SEEM TO GET INTO GEAR WHILE DRIVING AND GETTING TO FREEWAY SPEEDS CAN'T REACH A MAX OF 55MPH. HAVE HAD THE CAR COMPLETELY STALL OUT ON THE FREEWAY AND PUT ITSELF INTO "NEAUTRAL" WHILE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS. MAINTENANCE AIRBAG LIGHTS FREQUENTLY COMING ON. CHRYSLER CAN'T SEEM TO FIND A FIX TO THE ISSUE ON WHY THIS CAR IS DOING WHAT IT HAS BEEN. DRIVE UNTIL IT ATTEMPTS AGAIN. I E TAKING IT TO THE DEALER THEY DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM AFTER RESETTING THE COMPUTER AND GETTING AN OIL CHANGE CAR STILL TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND LOST ALL POWER (ELECTRICAL), FOLLOWED BY ENGINE STALL BEHAVIOR, POWER LOSS, STALL BEHAVIOR, THEN TRANSMISSION KNOB LIGHT FLASHES "D" AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SAYS TO SELECT GEAR AGAIN. WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED AND/OR T-BONED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. DEALER PERFORMED 4 FLASH UPDATES TODAY.
BOUGHT THIS 2016 CHRYSLER 200 S 4 CYCLINDER IN JULY 2016 WITH ONLY 4900 MILES ON IT. CAR WAS A DEALER PROGRAM CAR STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. TODAY, 8/22/2016 AT 6157 MILES THE CAR STALLED WHILE MY TEENAGE SONS (3 OF THEM) WERE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS TO SCHOOL (THIS IS THE CAR THEY DRIVE EVERYDAY). THE CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING THREE SEPARATE TIMES LOSING ALL POWER WITH A MESSAGE IN THE DASH READING "SHIFT TO P". ONCE SHIFTED TO PARK THE CAR DID START BUT ONLY AFTER MAKING AN ODD NOISE WHILE PUSHING IN THE IGNITION BUTTON.
