Initially, the engine would intermittently fail to start and at times would not start at all. I took the vehicle to a certified Chevrolet service center, where the battery was tested and found to be functioning properly. They later concluded that a faulty front-view camera was disrupting the electrical system and ordered a replacement (my first visit was Friday, 9/26/25). I took the car home for the weekend due to family obligations. On Monday, 9/29, while driving back to the service center, the engine suddenly shut off on a local road. The brakes went completely to the floor for 3–5 seconds before the engine restarted—just before I nearly collided with another vehicle at a red light. I reported this immediately, and the dealership kept the car for further testing. On Thursday, 10/2, they informed me they found no additional issues and believed the camera was the root cause. However, the...
Onstar Module failed causing battery to drain and no ETA on part -- from Chevy - To drive the vehicle the module is disconnected by the dealer as parasitic battery drain causes all other safety systems to fail - with module disconnected hazard lights will not work - so if situation happens where hazards are necessary to save occupants life they are not working and functioning due to care to able to function.
The vehicle has been brought to an authorized dealership for numerous service visits related to electrical system issues that ultimately affected the braking system. During one service visit, the vehicle was returned to me with multiple active dashboard warning lights illuminated related to the braking system, including Electronic Stability Control and Automatic Emergency Braking. I questioned the presence of these warning at pickup and was advised by the dealer that the vehicle was safe to drive and that the warnings would clear on their own. After driving the vehicle for a short period, I became uncomfortable continuing to operate it with brake-related warning lights still active and returned it to the dealer. Upon further diagnosis by a service technician, it was discovered that the vehicle has significant brake system defects requiring replacement of major components, including the brake control module and master cylinder. During diagnosis, the brakes locked and the...
Vehicle currently at dealership for ESC, brake system and ABS warning lights coming on. Unable to use cruise control once these lights came on.
I own a 2025 GMC Traverse purchased in July 2025. The vehicle is experiencing ongoing electrical system issues. The GPS and OnStar systems are inoperative, including vehicle location services. The vehicle cannot connect to OnStar or detect a Wi-Fi connection. In addition, the adaptive cruise control is not functioning properly. These systems have been inoperative for approximately 4 weeks. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and I was informed that parts are required, but no repair timeline has been provided. The loss of GPS, OnStar emergency services, and adaptive cruise control presents a safety concern, as emergency response, vehicle tracking, and driver assistance features are unavailable while driving. The issue remains unresolved.
The contact owns a 2025 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that immediately after purchasing the vehicle, the vehicle experienced several electrical failures, including the On-Star module malfunctioning. The On-Star module was replaced twice. During the failures, the cruise control feature became inoperable, and the computer updates were not received. Additionally, the battery became drained several times, and the vehicle needed to be jump-started. The contact also indicated the shark fin antenna had ejected from the vehicle while driving. The vehicle also abruptly stopped while driving on several occasions, and while driving, there was an abnormal metallic scraping sound coming from the engine compartment. The radiator hose had failed, causing coolant to leak from the vehicle. The hose was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 44,000.
Driving home - what looked like warning indicators on the dashboard, came on. Lost the ability to brake. Had to push the pedal all the way to the floor to get some braking to happen. A message came on the dashboard “Brake Assist failure. Press hard to brake. Speed Limited”. Once we were able to stop. We turned the car off. then turned it back on. We saw a message on the dashboard to “open the drivers door” and then “roll down the drivers window”. We did that and the car seemed to be normal again
Driving home coming up to a traffic light - I turned left onto Rd - After turning lost the brakes. Saw message on dashboard along with many others indicators as well. Saw the same message as the previous time ““Brake Assist failure. Press hard to brake. Speed Limited”.
All connected services do not work. The car cannot receive any updates to software/hardware posing potential safety issues. There was no warning. They all just stopped working. The vehicle was brought to the dealer in the beginning of October 2025 and I still do not have a fix or solution or potential timeline.
Beginning in May 2025, my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse began exhibiting a false “rear liftgate open” condition when the liftgate is fully closed. This defect triggers a continuous audible alarm that occurs before every drive and persists for the entire duration of the drive, stopping only when the vehicle is turned off. As a result of this defect, the rear windshield wiper and washer are disabled, eliminating rear visibility during rain and snow. The vehicle alarm system also cannot be armed, creating a security risk. The continuous alarm causes significant driver distraction, and the loss of rear visibility impairs safe operation of the vehicle, particularly in adverse weather. Minor children are frequent passengers, and the defect has occurred while they were in the vehicle. The vehicle has been presented to an authorized Chevrolet dealership on four separate occasions for the same issue. Multiple repair attempts, including diagnostics, software updates, component replacement,...
A car approached my blind spot and the blind spot detection did not alert. I tried to change lanes assuming the system was functioning and nearly ran someone off the road. Shortly after this the “service blind spot detection light” came on. Following this failure the vehicle telematics went out rendering the paid on star safety system useless. Parts to remedy the issue on indefinite back order per GM on 12/8/25.
Brake assistance failure. Brakes failed! ESC SERVICE I was able to set it up for inspection Could of caused a accident hurting other people or hurting my family, I use this vehicle to transport my 2 babies Vehicle would not brake properly could have cause serious injuries For my vehicle not yet has not been inspected it was towed, from what I have heard from current Traverse owners they have experienced this same issue with even lower milage No warning lights no indications of failure just happend instant twice
Brake booster failure, master brake cylinder failure
Telematic control module failed. vehicle has 7k miles on it and brand new. Still under bumper to bumper warranty. Dealership diagnosed the emergency services /navigation system failure and ordered the part which is on significant backorder to due to nationwide shortage. No eta for repair. Problem occurred oct 25, 2025. This needs to be a recall. dealership not providing suitable and comparable loaner due to not having 3 row available. stating enterprise does not have one. put me on waiting list for suitable loaner. escalated to gm customer care, gm customer care supervisor, gm executive resolution, dealership supervisor with no immediate solution. Will be filing lemon law case.
The master cylinder and ABS braking system failed, rendering the vehicle inoperable and leaving my family stranded approximately 285 miles from home. This represents a serious safety defect, as the braking system malfunctioned while the vehicle was in operation. The dealership has confirmed the issue, and the vehicle has remained in their possession for over two weeks awaiting parts and repair. During the failure, multiple warning indicators illuminated, including the ABS, Service ESC, and brake system lights. Once the brake system engaged, I was unable to release it or drive the vehicle any further.
Service ESC & Brake Assist lights came on after only 4 months with the vehicle. The vehicle also abruptly slammed on the automatic brakes when backing into a parking spot with no obstacle present prior to the service lights indicating any issues. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed brake master cylinder nearly two weeks ago, but the part is still on national backorder and will be stuck at the dealership for an undetermined amount of time with no loaners available. There are plenty other accounts of this same issue happening to other newly-bought '25 Traverses, and the N242482170 bulletin related to the '24 model hints at this being a recurring issue. This safety issue on a brand new vehicle without recognition/resolve is unacceptable.
I star failed and I could not use any of my lane assist. All features quit working that were to help me with other cars approaching failed. Radio quit work it working. Battery in car needed to be replaced and car needed to be jumped started. Curse control did not work. Had less than 2000 miles on car. Safety features in car quit working.
Dashboard started showing brake assist and esc needed service. Four lights lit up: brake, abs, traction, and collision
the whole dashboard lit up with break and park indicator lit up in red on dashboard. warning flashed about automatic break system failure and ESC warning
Several alerts came on, including ABS light, SERVICE ESC, SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL UNAVAILABLE. Blind spot alert stopped working. Dealership reset everything but the issue came back within a few hours. They said it may have something to do with the brake system
Master cylinder went out with only 5400 miles
We purchased this 2025 Chevy Traverse on 6-13-2025. The dash goes dark/blank thus not allowing me to know the speed, amount of gas nor any information on the driving including driver assist measurements. I have taken the car in twice with no satisfaction. I received it back on Friday - 8/22/2025 and within 3 miles the screen was blank again. This makes the vehicle unsafe and dangerous.
I purchased a 2025 Chevy Traverse in April 2025. The car had under 1056 miles on it. I was in another state 325 miles away from home when lights came on in the car. The PARK brake came on, the ABS light came on and a few others. The alert said, Service ESC, and service Brake Assist. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? We did research online and there were 33 other complaints from people with similar complaints. They reported that it was a master cylinder part and the dealers don’t have the part in stock. It could take up to two weeks for the part. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and my husband’s safety were at risk because we had to drive the car home. Our lives were at risk if...
Parked the vehicle a Saturday evening went to get into it Sunday morning and the dash was lit up with abs light, service ESC, traction control, check engine light. Called the dealership I bought it from to tell them what was going on, brought it in on a Monday evening to be looked at Thursday. Was called to be informed the master cylinder went bad. Was told by the service manger part would be in to be fixed Wednesday. Wednesday came and gone with no call, finally got a call Thursday evening that the part did not arrive and NOW they have no ETA on the part.
My Traverse prompted me to do an update - I did- and all my cameras stopped working- took to dealership - they tried to do a Manuel update and locked up the whole system- and the USB’s stopped working - 4 weeks later waiting on new system and no answer in site for when parts will be in - contacted GM and they escalated issue - told to be patient - just made my 3rd payment - I want a new car not a traverse - want them to buy back their lemon - after reading all the issues shame on GM for ignoring all these complaints
The transmission system on my 2025 Chevrolet Traverse began showing signs of failure approximately 2–3 months after purchase. Symptoms include erratic shifting, gear hesitation, and sporadic power loss while driving. Although the issue was promptly reported to Chevrolet headquarters, I was unable to bring the vehicle to the dealer earlier due to the lack of available loaner vehicles. The car is now at the dealership and has been there for nearly three weeks without any updates or contact from the service team. The transmission is available for inspection, and documentation of the issue exists. The malfunction has created safety risks during normal driving, including delayed acceleration when merging into traffic and unexpected gear disengagement at speed. These conditions compromise vehicle control and increase the likelihood of a collision. Additionally, the vehicle produces a persistent squeaky noise from the accelerator pedal during operation, which could indicate underlying mechanical stress or a...
On June 10th I drove my vehicle to work downtown Cleveland (no issues). Got home around 1 pm and had to leave at 3:30 to get my daughter from school. As I got in my vehicle I started to go in reverse and received all of those notifications and my brakes went completely out and I had to slam it to the floor to stop it was so scary and I thank god I wasn’t on the road or with my children!! I called the dealership the next day and they finally had my vehicle towed on the 12th of June. Once my car was there “the error messages disappeared and it was fine”. I did not feel safe taking the car back so they kept it another day and had the technician driving it around, still nothing until he washed the vehicle then it happened. After doing a ton...
Vehicle electronic rearview mirror continues to turn blue during operation and show an animation to flip back to normal mirror of mode. Dealership has looked at and stated known defect no current solution to fix concerns have been noted, but there is nothing to be done. Main touchscreen continues to glitch during operation, causing distracted driving dealership has looked at and stated concerns have been noted, but there is nothing to be done. It is a know defect.
Rear cross traffic alert system not working. No alerts when backing up and oncoming traffic
Purchased car Tuesday, Thursday night upon pressing the start button all power went out on car. Driving to dealership to have car looked at vehicle shutoff completely at traffic light. Vehicle restarted then two miles from dealership car had multiple warnings and brakes completely went out. Managed to get car off the road safely, currently awaiting tow.
