#11627643 | STRUCTURE | | N/A miles
The complaint is against Reading Truck Body, LLC regarding safety concerns left unresolved and property damage incurred because of the recall remedy work (NHTSA Campaign Number 18E-021) performed on my 2017 Silverado 3500HD Crew Cab service truck by Reading Truck Body, LLC. In May 2020, I was notified by Reading Truck Body, LLC of a safety recall specific to the aluminum service body on my truck. Following the initial remedy “patch” work done by the company, I was shocked to discover damages to the rear crossmember and compromising cracks in the welding of the body, as well as to the integrity and functionality of the wiring harnesses on my vehicle. Despite assurances that these damages would be addressed, I have been met with delays, unresponsiveness, and ultimately a subpar replacement body that does not meet the quality and craftsmanship of the original. The replacement body not only fails to match the size and finish of the original, but also poses serious safety risks due to missing bolts, faulty wiring harnesses, and overall poor construction. Despite my repeated attempts to seek resolution through the company’s Recall and Warranty departments, I have been met with dismissive treatment, unfounded accusations, and a refusal to address the issues at hand. This has not only caused financial loss and property damage but has also taken a toll on my emotional well-being and business operations. As a concerned customer, I am requesting your support to hold Reading Truck Body, LLC accountable for their actions in this complaint and fully remedy the recall. To do so, I request they replace the service body with one of equal quality, size, and finish as my original. Proper powder coating and meticulous craftsmanship are essential to restoring the value and integrity of my vehicle. I urge you to help rectify these issues promptly and help me ensure Reading Truck Body, LLC addresses the safety concerns outlined in my complaint. Supporting documentation attached

The touchscreen malfunctions intermittently. My vehicle currently has 36,687 miles and this problem has persisted for a while and is getting worse. It has been to the dealer several times and has been reprogrammed. The dealer now is telling me they don’t know what to do. The problem is the touchscreen develops a mind of its own and it starts calling people of the phone contact list or my personal favorite is the radio turns itself on at almost full volume. At other times it tries to contact Onstar when not needed or it mutes the phone call. It’s bad enough that I’m no longer able to use hands free calling in my vehicle. All of these actions either scare you as it is not expected or they require you to take you’re eyes off the road to shut off the radio, unmute the call, or to cancel the call. P.S. To me it does appear to be worse the warmer it is.
