The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to upshift while depressing the accelerator pedal. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a stuck torque converter. The contact stated that DTC code: P0741 was retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

RUSSELL BARNETT CHEVROLET GMC (LOCATED AT1981 COWAN HWY, WINCHESTER, TN 37398, (931) 967-4513) STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. *DT FOLLOW-UP 22-JAN-2020 : MANUFACTURER AND DEALER HAVE BEEN CONTACTED AGAIN, (21-JAN-2020), AND NO REMEDY IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. REPAIR PARTS ARE BEING SHIPPED TO NORTHERN COLD STATES/AREAS. STILL UNABLE TO USE THIS FEATURE EVEN THOUGH TEMPERATURES ARE LOW NOW IN THE SOUTH. NO GET-WELL DATE GIVEN OR KNOWN AT THIS TIME.*JB
