THE CONTACT CALLED CARL BLACK CHEVROLET (535 MURFREESBORO PIKE, NASHVILLE, TN 37210, (888) 509-5199) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THIS WEEK ON 9 DECEMBER 2013 I NOTICED ANOTHER CRACK IN THE NEW DASHBOARD. JUST SLIGHTLY OVER A YEAR THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME IN A NEW LOCATION. THIS CRACK IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEAR THE FRONT OF THE WINDSHIELD NEAR THE VIN NUMBER PLATE TO THE BASE OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS CRACK IN THE PAST TWO DAYS IS OPENING MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY. DUE TO PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT SEATED PROPERLY, AFRAID IF AIRBAG DEPLOYED MAY NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY. DEALER CONSIDERS CRACK COSMETIC, SAYS AIRBAG IS INDEPENDENT AND SHOULD NOT BE AFFECTED WHICH I AGREE BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL OPEN IF IT CAN BE "JARRED" FROM ITS SEATING IN THE DASH IF IT CAN DISLODGE. AND IN AN ACCIDENT WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO DEPLOY AIRBAG IT COULD BE THRUST UPWARD FROM ITS SEATING AND THUS CHANGING THE ANGLES OF WHICH IT IS INTENDED TO COVER DURING DEPLOYMENT. I SEE A POTENTIAL FLAW HERE DUE TO OVERSIGHT IN ENGINEERING...
