NHTSA Complaint #11715816 — 2018 RAM 2500

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and an unknown code related to the HECU was retrieved on a handheld diagnostic machine. The contact was informed that the HECU needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred approximately 13 months later. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 151,000.
