NHTSA Complaint #11709855 — 2018 RAM 2500

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the ABS and traction control warning lights illuminated, and a chime sounded. The “Service ABS” message was displayed. The contact stated that during the failure the cruise control was deactivated, and the 4WD option was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was associated with a part in the HECU and ABS module which needed to be replaced; however, the part was not available. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and the failure was associated with parts in the HECU and ABS module however, the parts were on back order. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
