NHTSA Complaint #11708418 — 2024 JEEP WRANGLER 4XE

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle lost power while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle independently switched over to Hybrid Mode and then resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and repairs were made to the battery. The contact then stated that while driving at a slow speed, there was an unknown message for the charging capability displayed on the instrument panel. The contact was instructed to pull over and complete a software update. Soon after the update, the contact stated that the charging feature was no longer available, and the contact was only able to use gasoline to operate the vehicle. The contact then received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V710000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
