NHTSA Complaint #11706632 — 2024 JEEP WRANGLER 4XE

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle independently accelerated. The charging system failure warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while the contact was at a stoplight. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. In addition, the contact stated that the failure occurred while the contact was traveling 300 miles away from home. The contact stated that while traveling, the vehicle was taken to several dealers along the route; however, the dealers declined to inspect the vehicle. The contact returned home and later contacted a local dealer, and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with battery failure. The contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the vehicle was at the dealer for 28 days. The contact stated that the failure was scary and unsafe that the vehicle was left in another town because the contact was afraid to drive the vehicle home. The contact later received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 791.
