NHTSA Complaint #11704657 — 2024 JEEP WRANGLER 4XE

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that an unknown over-the-air (OTA) update was sent to the vehicle, and the contact agreed to the update. Soon after the update, the check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle shut off while driving 30 MPH. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who investigated the failure online and discovered that failure was related to the software update that was performed on the vehicle. The contact later received recall notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V710000 (Electrical System), 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The dealer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The vehicle remained with the dealer while the contact obtained a rental out-of-pocket. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
