NHTSA Complaint #11701304 — 2024 JEEP WRANGLER 4XE

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH in stop-and-go traffic, a message on the instrument panel stated that the vehicle needed to be charged. The vehicle started to decelerate and came to a complete stop while in traffic. The contact turned on the hazards lights and contacted the Police. The Police Officers arrived and assisted in blocking traffic. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery and charging system had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired; however, the parts were ordered for the repair. The dealer, Bedard Bros (393 S State Rd, Cheshire, MA 01225), where the vehicle was regularly serviced was contacted and confirmed that a software update had previously been performed on the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted but had not responded to the contact. The failure mileage was approximately 15,300.
