NHTSA Complaint #11675666 — 2019 FORD FLEX

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Flex. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V951000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the back-over prevention camera failed to activate or flash an image briefly before displaying the message that the rear camera had failed, followed by the blackout of the screen. The failure first occurred intermittently, but progressively became more frequent, and the backup prevention became inoperable. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the part was not yet available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 46,500.
