NHTSA Complaint #11663903 — 2015 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving in traffic on a main road at approximately 3 MPH, while attempting to slow down, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact pumped the brake pedal and the vehicle responded as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the brake booster was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.
