NHTSA Complaint #11633189 — 2016 CHRYSLER 200

The contact owned a 2016 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact was made aware by another driver that flames were emanating from underneath the vehicle, prompting her to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. Upon exiting the vehicle became completely engulfed in flames. Local emergency services arrived and were able to extinguish the flames. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed a total loss by the contact insurance provider. A fire report was filed. A police report was filed, and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
