NHTSA Complaint #11629815 — 2018 RAM 2500

The contact owns a 2018 Ram 2500. The contact stated while driving 72 MPH with the cruise control set, the contact slammed on the brake pedal due to approaching a crash in the roadway and the front tires locked. The contact noticed that the front tires were worn down on 16 inches of the tire. The vehicle was vibrating while driving. The contact replaced the front passenger’s side tire. The cruise control was turning on and off independently. The ABS warning light was illuminated and making an abnormal dinging sound. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
