NHTSA Complaint #11607028 — 2016 FORD F-150

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that there was heavy white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe while starting the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact state that the smoke was thicker while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the turbo was replaced; however, the failure returned intermittently after the repair. The vehicle was taken to various independent mechanics and dealers, but none were able to diagnose the vehicle and determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.
